Frame: Flores #1, Flores #2, C100
No matter what you think of Flores' background or his art, you have to admit he makes a great pair of sunglasses. And no matter what you think of the fashion-oriented Gascan, you have it admit it makes great art. Or is that the other way around....?
The Oakley Artist Eyewear Series started off with a bang when the first two DF glasses and the C100 pair hit the market. After several seasons of bland designs and boring colourways, the artist series was a nice departure and caused quite a stir in the Oakley collecting community. Nowadays, the three pioneers of Oakley's current hot design concept have become the major collectibles for 2007 with more of the Artist Eyewear Series coming up in the near future, a blessing for all of us.
The DF #1 (Brown) is probably the most coveted out of the three current art Gascans, as it is viewed as the rarest and most exclusive out of the bunch. However, in the long run, it many turn out that the DF #2 (Blue) may be rarer and tougher to find--both in terms of the frame and in terms of variations--due to the near total recall and its back story. The C100, of course, is also up there for exclusivity with its 399 Euro price tag.
I'm quite happy with the work Oakley has put into the current art series, because it's showing great development with each successive release. They've really showed great developments with their proprietary pad print process. The DF #1 looked cool, but the DF #2 looked even cooler than the previous with its bold blue colour. The C100 was even better than those two and contains my personal favourite art on the glasses yet. Then the Chantry Hijinx was released, and I was even more impressed; it's certainly, IMO, the best application of art on a frame yet (though not my favourite piece of art) as I've stated in my Hijinx review.
All in all, a very cool development in terms of Oakley wear. I look forward to what the future brings to this lineup.
5 of out 5 for being innovative.
Review dated July 20, 2007
Frame:Polished Black
Lens:O-Store London G30
way way nicer than the O-store london Riddles.
the Polished Black goes very nicely with the Gen 2 G30.
great combo compared to the otherwise unimpressive gascan range.
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
The long awaited and most anticipated Gascan. I was lucky enough to try one of these a few months back now and very much enjoyed the style and fit of the frame. Streamlined and sleek, a very attractive piece. Now I am torn. When I finally put a pair to test though I do find that they start to slide away with heavy sweat or even facial movements. I can't be sure if it's the shorter stems, not necessarily the lack of unobtanium, but maybe the lack of curve in the stems too? Unless they just aren't wide enough from orbital edge to orbital edge a la the Riddle. They may benefit from the little implants like the Dartboard and/or slightly longer, curved stems. They do manage to remain an amazing frame and look great. Make sure you give them a try if you come across them.
Frame:Blue Flores
Lens:Grey
Personally i prefer the brown ones but these are still gorgeous and had an absolute nightmare getting them but once you see them together displayed in all their glory the insane prices all become worth it. if you have the first do whatever you can to get the second!
Frame: Polished White
Lens: Black Iridium
After my Fuel Cell was 'sequestered' by my 15-year-old son, I got interested with the Gascan because of its similarities with the Fuel Cell so I bought a pre-loved pair last 04 May for about $72. I chose the polished white because I thought they were unique and I seldom see men in my place wearing sunglasses of these colors.
The Gascan lens are a little smaller than that of the Fuel Cell but it also offers some sort of protection/cover to the periphery of the eyes - which I like.
Currently, my Gascan is among my favorites and I wear them interchangeably with by Monster Dog.
Frame: Transformers 3-D, London Police, Global, Matte Black
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized, HDO-3D, Warm Grey
The gascan is a great entry level frame. Great for collecting as well because there are so many special editions. The fit is great for almost anyone. The only downside I see is the styling is generic. Still a good "go to" model with lots of options.
Frame: Matte Black
Lens: Grey, then Black Iridium Polarized
Classic badass shape and design that fits me just perfect.
Shape & style:
I have a kind of oblong face, I think the square looks fits me well.
The frame covers my eyebrows too...My kids complain that with the Black Iridium finish and eyebrows covered they are unable to tell whether I am in a good or a bad mood. They are right but hey, that's the price for looking like a bad guy :-)
Protection & comfort:
Bought my first pair back in 2006, was looking for glasses to protect my eyes from light after surgery, and came across these ones, with grey lenses. I wore them 6 months almost all day, inside and outside buildings until my eyes recovered.
I never felt any particular discomfort wearing them so much, or suffered from light.
Pros: Classic frame, really good protection from light due to the shape of the frame.
Cons: A few.
1- A stronger grip would be great when you get more active (maybe some rubber insert inside the stems).
2- The Iridium lens surface scratches pretty easily. Not specific to these shades, all Oakleys suffer from the same issue. I am very hard on my shades and expect them to take care of themselves a bit when riding bikes or hiking or skiing...and they don't like it.
3- The matte paint wears off with little blisters where stems come in contact with the skull/ears. Even though the shades are now a few years old, it does not look nice. Since this is invisible from outside, they are still wearable but will go for unpainted plastic next time.
Would I buy them again ?
Well, I did...Lost the Grey ones traveling and immediately picked the Black Iridium as a replacement. Love them. Just ordered my 3rd pair online today...this time with Ice Iridium lenses and crystal black frame.
Frame:C100
Lens:Warm Grey
A very special pair of glasses, like the 2 david flores pairs this uses a cartoony style graphic under a clear plastic.
a vital part of any collection!
Frame:Brown Flores
Lens:Grey
Whats left to say that already has not been said about the Flores Gascans.
An absolutely awesome new print process was developed and utilized for the design of these, and the first pair was a super rare Japanese store exclusive with only 100 available, so they are only a strict collection piece (unless you are very brave/careful/couldn’t care less)
What made them even more unique was that they were Asian fit as well.
Frame: tortoise
Lens: bronze polar
this color combination is very versatile. you can dress these up or you can dress them down. either way you look awesome.
i personally enjoy the contrast provided by a bronze lens and the polarization just sweetens the deal.
i wouldn't recommend wearing gascans for hours on end because the thin temples may start to hurt your ears
Frame: white
Lens: black irid polar, fire, ice
smooth lines, and clean styling make the gascan a must have. the thing that i love the most is that the thin temples fit up under a hat nicely.
on the downside, if you tend to put your glasses on top of your head when they aren't covering your eyes, try not to do it with these. In my experience they are very susceptible to stretching out
Frame: Polished Rootbeer
Lens: Bronze
I took this pair for safety reasons away from my brother. He roughed this pair up a little bit...
The polished rootbeer has a casual translucent frame which is a little bit awkward when in the full sun. Light that shines through the frame is al little bit weird, the color is very different from the light that shines through the lenses, so you immmediatly know when you're seeing light from the frame or the lenses. I prefer solid frames with no translucancy.
The bronze lenses and the gold icon do look good on the color of the frame. Not my favourite pair, but still an Oakley.
Frame: Polished White
Lens: Ruby Clear
The white and ruby clear combo is a real treat. Out of my collection this one gets the most looks(mostly from people who are wearing GCs also), I think since the white frame just stands out and the ruby clear is not something you see everyday. I give this a 5 instead of a 4 like from my previous review because of it's uniqueness.
Frame: Blue w/Print
Lens: Grey
Another beautiful collaboration between Oakley and Flores. Awesome color scheme with beautiful art on the frame. The blue gives a real nice cool fresh look. I'm still a bigger fan of the brown frame but I don't mind these at all. Excellent fit and box and bag work add to the greatness.
Frame: Matte Black
Lens: Grey
These are really cool, as I have said before. I like the Matte Black a lot and I hope that it doesn't scratch as easily as the Polished did.
Frame: Polished Rootbeer
Lens: Bronze
Very cool color scheme. The polished rootbeer frame goes real well with the bronze. The frame is transparent so that also adds to the style of this specific Gascan. I really like the bronze lens in this color scheme. Its not too flashy at all. The gold icon really contributes to a nice pair of Gascans. The color scheme is excellent. Frame is lightweight and eye coverage is excellent.
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Black Iridium
Gascan's have a large and boxy feel and look to them. If you enjoy a square look then these are for you. The are very sturdy. They have an "anti-locking hinge" which keeps the hinge from falling in. The icon is very well designed and goes with the overall "bad ass" effect. My only beef is, like onthers have written, that they are not wraps, so they tend to slip a little when you're more active. Of course these aren't designed for sports, but it'd be nice to have just a little more grip. Overall my favorite pair of sunglasses i have ever owned.
Frame:Polished white
Lens:Emerald
Gascans are one of my wear pairs, i pretty much wear all my gascans and so when i saw this custom combo i wanted them mainly for the emerald lens which i dont have in an O-matter frame that i can wear.
Polished white is a very hard frame colour to pull off. you need to have at least a bit of a tan cos this will make pale skin look even lighter. these would look soo much better with dark icons instead of silly white ones, ofcourse green ones would look amazing.
Frame: Dark Grey
Lens: Grey(Ducati)
I like these a lot. For some reason the GCs fit me better now than about a year ago(GC Small fits a bit better for me still), they must have done some design change. Anyway, this sits very well on my face, very lightweight, excellent eye coverage. The dark grey frame is different from the more common black that Ducati frames usually get, and I like that a lot. The Gascan really represents the sportiness of Ducati.
Frame: Polished Brown w/ Pink Icon
Lens: VR50
Really nice color scheme. I was a little skeptical on the pink icon but it actually looks really good against the brown frame. Its like chocolate and strawberry ice cream. The VR50 lens matches extremely well with the polished brown frame. As other gascans, the eye coverage is excellent and frame weight is very light and comfortable. VR50 is nice to have on the gascan because it shows the eyes and really adds to your style.
Frame: Polished White
Lens: Ruby Clear
The ruby clear lens matches up quite nicely with the polished white. Its an excellent pair to wear in the afternoons or in overcast. The style of the Gascan with the ruby clear lens looks really good. It definitely stands out and looks different. One con of the ruby clear in the gascan lens is that it doesn't look as good as other ruby clears like the Unknown. At certain angles it almost looks like a clear lens with a bit of red and blue in there. Still, you can enjoy the double sided iridium seen on the back side of the lens.
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Ice Iridium
when i got it, it's just a rush. now i know they are Sete Gibernau edition, i'm gonna treasure it even more. Gascan do not fit Asian face well, but i can have them down.
Frame: Dark Grey (Ducati)
Lens: Grey
I second Lex7's review word for word. These glasses are the shiznit! Stoked that I finally added a Ducati number to my collection. Gascan was certainly the way to go. I love the red icon and the "Sete" printed on the inside of the earstem as well as the cool lens etching. I was worried they wouldn't fit right 'cause I never tried them on before buying. They ended up fitting like Jannard himself took measurements of my head! It's nice that they don't fit tight and start to hurt after wearing awhile. I won't be doing any headbanging or other quick movements as these could easily fall off my head due to no unobtanium. That and the dull grey lens color are my only gripes. Without these, I would've given 5 stars.
Frame: Matte Black
Lens: Black Iridium
The Matte Black finish on the Gascan makes it look very stealthy. It now has a real classic look to it. Although it's a bit big for my head I still like it a lot. Still 4 stars because of the lack of Unobtainium.
Frame:Dark Grey (Ducati)
Lens:Grey
These are awesome, i finally managed to get somethign ducati and im glad it was these, they have the very cool sete logo on the inside and ofcourse the ducati on the lens.
my only complaint is that they used the boring grey lens instead of black iridium.
Grab these while you can.
Frame: Matte Black Hawaii Icons
Lens: G30 Titanium
Extremely nice looking pair of Gascans. The Hawaii flag Icons are a sweet touch to an already awesome design. The matte black frame was ok. I think it would've looked better in a polished black but its still cool. The G30 titanium lens is really good looking and nice to look through. I really like this combo a lot.
Frame: Dark Grey
Lens: Grey
I'm going to have to edit my previous reviews on Gascans. Prior to my Grapes, I felt like the Gascans weren't good for big filipino heads like my own. But the Grapes changed that. These Ducati sigs like the Grapes and all the Gascans I've tried on recently fit very well. The Ducatis reinforced the comfortability of the Gascans on me. I really like the shade of grey of these frames and they are very well combined with the grey lens. The red icons add an excellent accent and really show that these are Ducatis. I'm a big fan of these non-black/red combo Ducatis. I feel like they stand out a lot more in the Ducati family like the Ducati HJ's.
Frame: Matte Black
Lens: Grey
I didn't like the Gascans when they first came out but I see these everywhere now and their looks have grown on me. They didn't fit too well either, but for whatever reason, the Matte frames seems to fit just a bit better. They still pinch slightly at the temple but it's still better than when I first tried them. I don't know if this a generational thing or just a quality control problem, however.
Frame: Rust
Lens: G30 Titanium
One of my favorite frame colors on one of my favorite frames. Got these from the OCE program at the local vault and I love them. The G30 Titanium lenses are a perfect contrast to the color of the frame. Thet look super nice when the sun hits them and shines through the transparent frame.
Frame: Brown
Lens: Warm Grey (David Flores)
These are simply the sickest glasses I have ever seen. The frame color is awesome. I would have to compare it to chocolate. The design on the arms is absolutely amazing. You really have to see it to appreciate the beauty it posesses. I also like that the signature is in the upper outside corner of the right lense instead of the traditional lower outside corner of the left lense. If this is a sign of what Oakley has in store for the future, we are all in for some treats.
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
These actually fit me fairly well. From my previous reviews Gascans really didn't fit me very well. These actually fit me pretty good. Either my head shrunk or something was changed with the composition of the frame. I really like the Grape color in the Gascans. They are very unique and they look extra nice when you wear them out in the sun. I think it takes some getting used to because when you do wear these the light shines through the frame and is a little distracting at first. Eventually you forget about it. Eye coverage is excellent and the frame is very light weight.
Frame:Matte Black (Hawaii Icon)
Lens:Fire
Too Cool, as soon as I saw these Hawaii icon gascans i knew i had to have them and when i was offered to have fire lenses in i was all over these.
matte black and fire are made for eachother and its the nice matte black like the OTT. the icon looks special and really finishes off these gorgeous customs!
thanks again O-whores.
Frame: Black
Lens: Grey
Sweet shades, definately a fashion glass as they don't stay on the face very well. Absolutely love the reserved but definite style of these babys.
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Emerald Iridium
A custom pair of Gascans I got online. The Emerald looks really nice with the glossy black frame and this is definitely a unique Gascan. I hope we see more factory customs like this one. I can't be bothered to Dremel my own creations, plus I don't trust the optics when you take a lens from another model and chop it up.
Frame: matte black/brown smoke/Metallic Black/pol.white/pol.Rotbeer/pol.black/custom/Dark Grey
Lens: Black polarized/G30TiT/HI Yellow/Ruby Clear/Gold Clear/Titanium Clear/Titanium/Ice/Emerald/Ruby/Fire/G26/Amber pol.
Best glasses ever! light, strong, fashionable. Even someones say it's not the oakley style, they are the most sold(?) glasses of the last year
Frame: Polished White
Lens: Black Iridium
Very light pair of glasses. The model is very simple but still aggressive. 4 stars because of the lack of Unobtanium.
Frame: black
Lens: gray
I love the style for these but i HATE the fit... they are way too small for my head the nose bridge wont reach my face. Ill give it a 3 because theyre great if they fit but worthless if you have a big head like me.
Frame: Tortoise
Lens: Bronze Polarized
Very cool design. I thought the Gascan was going to be too big for my small/medium skull, but I was wrong. They fit very well and are very comfy to wear all day. 5 skulls flying for this model!!!
Frame:Polished Black
Lens: Black
I think these look really cool but not a good fit for the shape of my face. Eye coverage is awesome and very lightweight.
Frame:brown smoke
Lens: dark bronze
very nice framecolour, it looks "stylish" and the O-icons are downtoned to match the frame, which is actually a good thing. it matches perfectly with the general colour of the frame and lens.
Dark bronze is an easy colour for a lens , you can wear this clour up untill it gets dark. all in all , my choice for the GasCan.
The fit of the GasCan takes a little time to get used to , because it won't stick to your face as a "normal"oakley does
Frame: Oakley Custom Eyewear Metallic Black
Lens: Fire (Replacement lens atthis time not available in the OCE program)
After a year and a half Oakley has made a variety of lenses and frames available in the Gascan. What earns these the 5 are the replacement lenses, very firey and not suffering from the 24-k like fire appearance that has been showing up lately.
Lets see Dark Grey lenses too Oakley!
K
Frame: Brown Smoke
Lens: Dark Bronz
First off, these glasses DO NOT MATCH what appears on the Oakley website for this product. If one examines the Spring 06 mailer, or the PDF version of this mailer, one will find the color much closer in appearance.
That being said, this is a very interesting pair of glasses that has a distinct look. It works well for those of use with larger heads and rounder faces. The dark bronze lens color createes and absolute spectacular appearnce to what is viewed when outside. The details pop.
Frames are comfortable on my face as well as perched atop my head when not in use. The Oakley symbol is not very distinct as it appears to be a bronze color that blends in with the frame. Also worth noting is that the frames are translucent and do allow light to pass through. At first this was distracting, but was as easy to get used to as the nose bridge hardware and screws on my Why 8.1 lenses.
A great pair of frames and lenses. For $90 bucks, I have no complaints. I did find the "white" software bag an interesting touch and will probably end up purchasing a large soft vault for storage.
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Black-Clear Gradient
The fit on these was the biggest problem for me. I love the gradient lenses though. They have a really cool classy look on them.
Frame: Polished White
Lens: Black Iridium
Really cool design. I have a big filipino head so these didn't fit me very well. The nose is wear the problem with fitting occurs. The polished white still looks really nice.
Frame: Polished black
Lens: Black
the cover well but i find they dont stick too well to your face due to loose earsteams...they have a nice fashiony design and they are easy to wear on any ocasion.
i rate them 3 on 5 because of the loose fit...
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Ice Iridium
Love 'em. These are apparantly a Special Edition in honor of superbike racer Sete Gibernau. Sete recently moved to Ducati and Oakley quickly released a new Gascan with the Ducati theme. I think the Black/Ice combo is the best of all GC combos. The blue icon punctuates the whole thing and I am very glad I got one - even if I ended up paying above retail for it.
Frame: Matte Black
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized
Nice pair of shades. I take them everywhere I go. The polarized lense are great, the only thing I dont like is that the gascans tend to slip slightly from the face ...due to lack of wrap and unobtanium. Other than those, good pair of stylish shades. Seems durable enough and lightweight for its size.
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Ice
While I was not a fan of this frame initially - I must admit that the Ice lens has grown on me. I finally had to have them...I must say I like them better than my T2 version - light, and they actually do fit my big head pretty well - plus that Ice lens jumps out in direct sunlight....I'm sold. Now I just have to keep myself from swapping the lenses and Icons into my T2's....
Frame:Polished Rootbeer
Lens: Bronze
Great pair of shades for any type of day. One of the most comfortable that I have, besides the Monster Dogs of course.
Frame: Pol Black
Lens: Black
Was at a sunglass botique and tried on every Oakley (the girl was annoyed because I had my friend take a pic of me wearing every Oakley in the store but hey!) and I hated these. I have seen them online, etc... and thought I'd love them but the reason why I hate them is because they make me look like someone that just got out of eye surgery!!!! Way to big and they do not fit my face at all. As for design yes they are cool but I just feel they aren't as good. Not for me.
Frame: Polished Rootbeer
Lens: Bronze
I never thought I will like gascan. Did not bother trying them on when I first saw them. When I finally did, man, it hug my face well and I like what I saw in the mirror. But this pair needs to be tried on before buying them. The style and the fit is not made for every one. My wife uses this more often than I do.
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
Takes some getting used to. Awesome though once you ae comfortable wearing them. The color in this frame is so hot. the boxy look is nice too. Makes you feel badass wearing them, I like the locking arms as well.
Frame:Polished Black
Lens:Ice Iridium
wow these are cool.
i wasnt gonna get them but im so glad i did cos they look way way better in real life than in the website pics.
the ice lens and the bright metalic blue icon look amazing against the polished black frame.
once again wow, best gascan combo you can get
Frame: Polished black
Lens: Gradient
Too square for me. Awesome design but not for me, I will get Thump 2 so there is no reason for me to get this
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
This frame color is one of Oakley's finest. Available only through OPD's - it is not often you see people rocking this combo. Although, that can't be said around these parts. This particular combo became very popular among the O-Review members. And rightfully so. Fit issues keep me from giving it top marks however.
Frame: Polished White
Lens: Black Iridium
Love the style of the gascan. Looks pretty slick in all white, but the fit issues keep me from giving it full marks. Fit aside, these are really cool from a design and impact aspect.
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
Bought this pair two months ago when I came across them at a Stretchline dealer about 30 min. from my house. The Grape frame is super cool and looks pretty subtle when you have them on but can also catch peoples attention. Especially when theyre hit by the sun.
Frame: Brown Smoke
Lens: Dark Bronze
This is a great combo I just picked up from my local Ochialli De Sole stand. I was hesitant when i first saw FP post a picture of them because thought it looked too much like the rootbeer cans but quickly changed my mind when I saw them in person.
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Ice
Amazing!! By far (IMO) the best color combo that i've purchased for the Gascan. Picked them up at a local opd this weekend, and have already gotten a bunch of compliments from both non-O fans and the staff at the O-store and vault!!
Frame: Polished White, Polished Black
Lens: Black Iridium, Black Gradient
These are awesome. They look great on me, and just have an absolute pimptastic quality to them. I just feel like a better looking guy when wearing them, it's inexplicable. They're nice and light, fit snugly, and the lenses are pretty easy to switch for variety. I highly recommend.
Frame: Black Polished
Lens: Amber Black Polarized
A definite advance in Oakley's polarized lenses thses are as sharp and clear as my Kaenon polarized lenses. Lens Transmission is 18% so these may not be for bright light. The touch of black iridium flash coating gives these a way cool look.
K
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
I like them a lot. Awesome coverage & comfortable especially since the wide earstems don't dig into your head at all. They do fog up inside a little too easily for my taste but otherwise no complaints.
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Grey
I love these!!! They are my new favorite pair. They have a cool kinda updated retro look (oxymoronic I know) and another great example of an Oakley "fashion" glass. They fit really well. I can't say enough about them. They are da BOMB!!!
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
My second O-Matter frame in a month, which is unusual for me since I'm more of a metal man. But these were a must have. Not just because of design and style but because of the colorway. I never thought I would really ever buy myself a Grape pair of Oakleys. But once I saw them I couldn't resist.
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
These are the ultimate must have. Simple, elegant unique and square, oh and that color....Grape WOW! Every body that has seen mine wants them, and with a killer price to boot everybody can.
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Grey
Very fun pair! They are similar to the Monster Dog, but a squarer frame instead of round. The icon on the side is missing, replaced with a square O. That difference isn't too bad for me at all, as it puts a different spin on this pair.
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
Finally got a chance to see these in person and design-wise, they look better in person than in photos but I'm still underwhelmed. Still, the Grape frame is a very nice shade of purple so if that's your favorite color, you'll probably like these.
As for fit, it's decidedly for small to medium-sized heads. While the base curve is flat enough to fit most head shapes, they're narrow enough that wider heads (like mine) would feel the bulky earstems pressing against the temples.
Also, it's a very flat design all around so I can see why people might have problems with them slipping off their heads, especially if you're the sweaty type. A love it or hate it design.
Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Bronze
Came across this custom colorway on eBay. I had planned on getting the Rootbeer/Bronze, but I'm glad I found these because I prefer the black frame and gunmetal icon, but really wanted the bronze lens over the grey. I've been intrigued by these since the first pictures showed up. Definitely not a style I thought I'd like, but there's something about them that I had to have. The blocky styling is so different from anything else Oakley has ever done, and the square icon is pretty nifty, too.
If you have a smaller face, these look a little odd straight-on. However, from an angle, they seem totally different and more streamlined. The thick earstems hold tight. I haven't had any problem with slipping, but that may be due to the fact that I don't have any hair, so the O-Matter just sticks to me.
I give these a 4 only because my wife insists that I look like I'm wearing cheap Blueblockers. Ouch. Harsh words for such a cool pair of shades.
Frame: Grape
Lens: Gray
I think the critical comments on the Gascan fit mean try before you buy. I have none of the slipping issues. These things fit my big head perfectly!
Frame: all
Lens: all
i love the overall squarish shape of the Gascans, and the hinge area looks very nice too, with the squared off Oakley Icon. i was a bit disappointed to find that they didn't fit my head at all, but still... nice design.
Frame:Polished White
Lens:Black Iridium
these look great and i would be very very tempted if they came with a black icon, i dunno why they left the icon white it looks too hidden and plain.
the only other gascan that might be able to tempt me into having a second pair is the matte black.
Frame:Grape
Lens:Grey
i was a little upset to hear that this amazing frame colour came with grey but i couldnt not get these, im a big fan of new and different frame colours and this is both of those.
im loving the frame, more of a square fit than the MD, its less wraparound than the MD and seems alot looser, i am worried that during any sweaty sport these will fly off, so im gonna save these for walking around looking like a badass.
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
First thing when I saw this model, I told myself that it won't look good on most people's faces. I was wrong. It looks good on majority of the face shape. I like how the color (seems) change. It looks like black, but change to plum/violet when the sun shines thru it. Fit is also good, not too tight but not too big but the lack of unobtainium makes it kinda slippery, especially if you sweat a lot or have an oily face.
Frame: Grape
Lens: Grey
I wanted one of these and they ended up coming my way. They tend to slip off if it's hot due to the lack of wrap and unobtainium. They do look nice though and one cool thing about this color, is that the grey and grape portion have the same amount of reflection, so it almost looks like one solid piece. An unusual pair, but worth a look.
Frame: Polished White
Lens: Black Iridium
These are actually very cool glasses - though I can't help but comparing the polished white to a storm trooper. They're cutting edge desgin, pushing the boundaries, which is what O is all about, so you can't fault them for making suchn a great design here, even if you might look a bit daft.
Other than the design of the earstem, there's really nothing exciting about the Gascan. The front is pretty flat and boring. I'll probably get the Grape Gascan, though; not for wearing but just for the collection.
Frame: Black polished, Grape
Lens: Gray
Oakley's most wearable O-matter enclosed frame since the twenty.
Very styling people like this frame and ask me about it,
Why not 5 stars?
The gray lenses give me titanium polarized Oakley and give it to me now!!
Frame: Any
Lens: Any
I really like the look of these. There's something about them that just makes them stand out. Maybe it's the awesome styling, maybe it's the new icon. Either way, I want one.
Frame:Polished Black
Lens: Grey
An overall smooth pair of sunglasses but not for everyone. I have a face thats somewhere between medium and large, which is what these sunglasses where made for but they still don’t fit me as well as other Oakley’s do. They hug your face right below the area where their logo is and after you wear them for an extended period of time they leave crease lines on the side of your face where the frame curves inward. This problem would be fixed if Oakley designed them to rap-around your face like their other sunglasses do.

Did someone say "Big and Square"??? The Gascan is just that, it's big, it's square. I like it. The new icon is sweet, and the look is pretty wicked. My only complaint is that that since the frame is pretty thin and tall, the earstems (and hinge) strike me as somewhat delicate.

This is one of the coolest Oakley's I have ever worn. Along the lines of Monster Dog and Doggle, but very smooth, classic styling. New logo is great. Go get these things fast.
