Long gone. Sorry!

Oakley MVP information is now on oakley.com. However, I cannot figure out how to join since I already have an account (seems like the 'join' link is only for people creating new accounts).

That is incredible!

Those fat pins on the lid remind me of the door on a bank vault, which is appropriate because after you fork over $1,200 on it, all of your spare change will probably fit in it (with room to spare for your extra Chuck E Cheese tokens).

Eddy, let's get both into the database.

Will it mess up the db since these have the same SKUs as the stock, non-etched colorways?

A couple recent Ford/Oakley releases that I felt obligated to get.

Crossrange Shield Kit and Accessory Case arrived last night.

The little keyed tab fits into the matching hole in the mechanism, and the earstem holds it in place.

Here is the case in its packaging.

... and inside. Holds a complete pair, second set of earstems/nosepiece, extra lenses, shield kit, and microbag.

I need to see those side shields in action.

I'll take some pictures when they arrive.

That picture reminds me... Still trying to figure out why the sport stems have those two holes. Was there some other feature that ended up not being offered?
Jul 18, 2017 3:32 PM
I'll buy some now because of the side shields lol

Spoken like a true collector!
Jul 18, 2017 2:41 PM
They actually released the side shields?!?!! How did I miss that? Thanks eddy!

No problem! I had to buy them, even if I don't really expect to use them... such a novelty item.

The Crossrange Array has a tweed accessory case.

That is a really cool case. Just placed an order, along with a set of side shields. I was pleasantly surprised to see both of those. Is Tactics the only place that sells them? Is Crossrange being offered in an array?

I was pleasantly surprised by Crossrange. I expected to not like them, but the sport-style nosepiece option makes them very comfy. The engineer geek in me also really likes how they made the interchangeable stems work.

X-Ray Blue Radar, part of the Spectrum Prizm Collection. Also Gamma Green, and Infrared Red

Neat color names. The X-Ray Blue looks pretty good and different from any other blue option. Is the icon iridescent, or is it just the flash reflecting off of it?

I have always preferred the ellipse, but square O definitely has (had?) its place.

Scott - This Trivia Thursday thing is great fun. Really nice to have you here!
May 4, 2017 5:53 PM
Because it's hip to be square, right?

Seriously, though, wasn't it because the ellipse just did not fit with the straight lines and sharp edges on the Gascan back when it came out in 2005? Also a way to differentiate the "Lifestyle" line from the Active/Sport styles, especially since Stretchline was discontinued?

I'll also put in a thumbs-up for the Hollowpoint hinge from a design and "feel" standpoint, but I don't wear my Tincan/Tinfoil very often, so I am not sure how well they hold up with daily wear.

Have you considered one of the plastic frames, namely one of the Crosslink series? I had three pairs of wire frame glasses over the years (O1, Thread 2.0, Spoke 2.0) before trying Crosslink. I also need a full frame due to my awful eyesight. Love the Crosslink. It is light and very comfortable. The interchangeable stems are a nice feature if you want to change the look/feel. I actually bought the Crosslink Pitch replacement stems when they came out because I liked the simpler lines better than the original stems.

Question about Turbine XS... anyone know how small it really is? I know it is marketed as a "youth fit", but is it truly kid-sized like Quarter Jacket or just a smaller version? The regular Turbine is a pretty big frame (too big for me to wear), so wondering if the XS is suitable for adults with smaller faces.

Was going to visit the O-Store this weekend to see it for myself but didn't get there.

Is there a specific reason for the two holes on each earstem?

Also, I noticed that these keep appearing and disappearing on the new arrivals page at oakley.com (but nothing comes up if you click on it). Are they not really available yet?
Feb 7, 2017 9:05 PM
Why is the Mainlink not faded?
Jan 30, 2017 6:46 PM
Looks a like cross between Speed Jacket and Bottle Rocket.
Jan 26, 2017 11:10 PM
That's pretty neat! When does it drop?
Dec 15, 2016 4:28 PM
This may have been asked already, but will there still be non-Prizm options available, or is it going to be Prizm-or-nothing?
Dec 14, 2016 9:13 PM
Forget the beach ball... I still love that Cash Express train. That should have been the holiday item this year. Can you imagine a pewter version of that running around under the Christmas tree?
Dec 5, 2016 5:14 PM
Same here. My wife actually got all the Oakley emails (twice, actually) even though she last placed an order in 2005, and I never got anything in my inbox. Now she isn't getting anything either.

I was hoping for the email code since the items on my wish list are not typically available in-store locally.
Dec 3, 2016 3:04 AM
F&F just got mailed out

Do you mean snail mail or email? Is F&F in-store only or also online this time around?
Dec 1, 2016 6:39 PM
Now we're ready for the holiday season...

Those look fantastic!
Nov 1, 2016 9:17 PM
Sounds cool. Can't wait to see it in person.
Nov 1, 2016 8:22 PM
Looks pretty nice. Anyone know how Switchlock works on this?

I really like the case:
