Frame: Carbon
Lens: 24K Gold
This is a factory custom I purchased off a fellow collector. The combination of the dark Carbon frame with the explosive gold hues of the 24K combine for a spectacular looking X-Metal with loads of personality and oodles of exclusivity. This is something I feel honored to own. I cannot imagine a cooler and more unique Romeo 2 colorway.

Frame: X-Metal
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized

I know I'm gonna get it from the Juliet camp, but the Romeo 2.0s are vastly superior sunglasses. And I own 2 pairs of Juliets already (with a 3rd on the way). Weight and eye coverage are 2 areas where these beat the Juliet. I know a lot of people don't care for rimless designs (I'm a big fan myself) but there's no way to argue against the fact that less metal results in less weight. Adding peripheral vision to the mix only helps the situation.

Since this isn't a lens review, I won't get into what I like to call "astonishing clarity" when I wear my Romeos. For my head size, the Romeos fit much better. Even with the 15 T-Shox in both, the Romeos have less squeeze than my Juliets and let me wear them from sun up to sun down. The "Hammer" earstems aren't as pronounced compared to the original Romeos (and X-Metal XX) but still lend to the comfort factor. Plus they have real, honest-to-goodness "O" icons on them.

I only have one pair of Romeo 2.0s, but I haven't noticed any lens looseness. Compare that to the 8 pairs of Juliets I've had a chance to check out, of which 7 of them had loose lenses.

First of all: the Romeo 2.0 is nothing like its predecessor. The half frame design, the flex coupler, the lens shape. I don't know why they didn't rename it. There are no similarities between the old one and the new one...

Back to the glasses: The fit is perfect, seeing that my head is kinda small, these fit me much better than the old Romeo's!
The reduced weight due to the half frame makes the Romeo 2.0 easy on the ears and nose. These will be comfortable to wear all day long. Too bad they incorporated the Icon logo in the earstem. A part of me says that an Oakley needs an Icon in the earstem, but this is the first X-metal that truely has one and that really makes it a little bit akward. It's kinda like an oversized wire.

They say the Gary Scelzi Romeo 2.0 is limited to 500, I believe this is not the case seeing that my serial is #709. Nontheless, the Scelzi edition is the best color combo out there, so when you do get the chance, take it!

Frame: Polished
Lens: Titanium Iridium

I like these. Like a fine utensil, they are not for the casual sunglass wearer. Expensive and need to be taken care of. For people who can appreciate the materials, design, and craftsmanship.

Styling? I like the styling. Polished titanium half frame with the titanium iridium lense is a good combo. The sculpting of the metal is very modern and I can tell alot of thought went into the arms.

The titanium iridium lense is amber based (which I prefer to grey based). The lense coverage is excellent and I like the half rim design which unlocks the downward field of vision.

The frame is titanium (light/rigid). Frame flex comes from two 1/4" strips of metal in the gaps of the nose bridge peice. I reccomend you try a few on before buying, as there is symetrical variation going on due to the construction process.
If the arms don't open the same distance, check to see if the hinge shocks are inserted flush. A little twist of the flex coupler can fix some issues too. I also had a couple bumps under the left nose bob that I swear I could feel through the rubber, which I carefully filed down.

I'm giving these 4 stars not 5 because of the nose bobs. They could have been done better for comfort. I recomend to Oakley, connect the 2 sides with a bridge to distribute the weight over a greater surface area on the nose for greater comfort. I wear these for hours on end at work and it's alright, but as one poster mentioned they do give 2 red marks on your nose.

Also, for the price, you should get a tool with these and the option to order/switch lenses. They don't sell the lenses seperately like they do with the other half frame models.

The glasses come with alternate hinge shocks (one opens a tiny bit less) and alternate nose shocks (thinner).

I walk around work with these around my head and I have to say that they just don't quite feel as good to me as the original even though they are very nice indeed. Most other sunglasses I would rate rather blandly, but these get high marks even though I like the original Romeo for a number of reasons.

First, I'm kind of an X-Metal purist (Most on the Oakley review know my general tastes: don't like spring hinges, conservative color combos, etc.). I'm a little disappointed that Oakley had to design-out the hole in the temple that I had come to love so much in the Juliets, Mars', Romeos, and XX's. I didn't like the Penny's much because not only because of the aforementioned reason but also because they were spring hinged.

Secondly, as I'm only luke warm on the idea of Oakley's rimless designs, I'm especially luke warm on a rimless X-Metal. I've come to think of the X-Metal line as lending itself to abuse (looking like it anyway). To me, the rimless design steps on that ideal a little.

The price hike is a little much too. The increased cost without the option of a pure X-Metal/ Black Iridium non-Polarized combo which I loved in the original Juliet, Romeo, XX, and Mars bugs me.

Onto the good. The peripherals on the glasses are really good and clarity is quite nice. Admittedly, they do generally fit most people (that I've seen) better than the Romeo I and the design is a bit more forgiving to most face shapes. I guess the trouble with Romeo I is that you almost had to have a face born with the purpose of wearing them.

Holding both pairs up and examining them at a wide variety of angles, I've concluded that the lines of Romeo I are much more elegant and streamlined than Romeo II's. The Romeo IIs are a just a little too busy for my tastes.

In summary, it seems that the very reasons I don't seem to love these glasses are those that prompt most others to laud them as some of the best X-Metals out there. I guess I just like the ultra chunky feel of the original whereas most people don't.

Frame: Carbon
Lens: Black Iridium

My friendly neighborhood Oakley rep was kind enough to let me try his sample pair. 2 words: Nice shades.

First of all, these things are LIGHT. All of the other X-Metals are relatively heavy since they are full-framed and somewhat thick. Romeo 2 feels like a wire frame. The half rim style and the intense sculting on the earstems have something to do with this, I'm sure.

Onto the fit... I didn't have them on for very long, but based on my short trial, they feel like a cross between Juliet and Hatchet. They are about as wide as Juliet, but the lenses are taller like Hatchet. The lenses sit farther away from your face than Hatchet, but they still brushed my cheeks. I forgot to ask if they include larger nosebombs. The T-shocks seem "springier" than the ones on Juliet.

Appearance-wise, Romeo 2 is a vast improvement over the original in my opinion. I've come to like the half-rim styles from Oakley, and the square-ish lenses are much more modern than the ovals on Romeo. The little "fins" on the outside edges of the lenses are a neat little styling element. The earstem sculpting is just amazing, and the new triangular T-shocks even look nice. The earsocks are unlike anything I've seen before. They taper down quite a bit from front to back but are still comfortable. The hinge area is a bit chunky when looking at it from the back due to the need to accommodate the T-shocks, but it doesn't look bad from the outside. I like that there are finally O icons on an X-Metal.

The Carbon finish looks quite nice as always.

I only gave these 4 stars because of the staggering price and the quality problems that okyman62 has had with his. Not what you want to hear about Oakley, especially at such a high price. I assume that it's just early production bugs, but the $100 price hike will always be hard to swallow.
TERRORISM -
Frame: Carbon
Lens: Fire - Gary Scelzi

The Romeo 2 proved Oakley's ability to incorporate a semi-rimless lens design into the X-Metal lineup, and the Carbon/Fire Gary Scelzi limited edition served to enhance the series even further. Due to the reduction in the bulk of the frames, these glasses were far lighter than previous X-Metals, which translated into enhanced comfort. The standard flex-couplers, interchangeable nosebombs and temple shocks also provided a customized fit, and the Carbon/Fire color combo - being previously unreleased for an X-Metal - was a welcome addition to the lineup. This pair also incorporated a laser-etched Gary Scelzi signature, and although I'm not personally a fan of the NHRA, this only served to further enhance their collectability.

Frame: Polished

I had the chance to fit this color combo and the experience was great! Very light for an X-metal with a very big coverage, the earstems are great and it's good that metal icons are now present. The fit is a little wider than the Juliet but very comfortable. Glad that they used temple shocks instead of spring hinges as the fit is more secured and comfortable. I think it's good that they released light colored frames to emphasize the frame shape when being worn.

The price is what surprises me. Very expensive, and no serials. And I was expecting a grayish-dark gold tint on the titanium like on the site, but found a tint similar to gold iridium but only lighter.

Wishing that they release an X-Metal - Ruby combo.

This was my first X-Metal purchase and still my favorite pair as far as comfort. They are not to heavy on my face and I barely notice them there. The only drawback at least on the carbon frame is the fact there are 2 small spots wearing through where I set them on the table. I wear this model 2-3 times a week.

I suppose these are the X-Metal for people who think X-Metals are a bit flamboyant. Very subdued styling, and most people wouldn''t guess they''re not plastic unless they picked them up.

Originally a gift for my father, he could not get his prescription in them so I took them. The style is hit or miss. I don't wear them often because they are too wide for me. I prefer the first ones over these. A nice collection piece but that's mostly where it will stay.

I tried them on once at the O-Store and had to have them. My lucky day, they were on clearance due to the discontinuing of the line. Gotta love it! Unfortunately, some individual broke into my jeep the night before Christmas Eve, and rather than taking this pair of unsurpassable eyewear, they in turn bent them. This rendered them unwearable. I am now looking for a metallurgist here in town to attempt to repair/weld the nosepiece into a comfortable position. If anyone has any recomendations to other paths of repair,I would be endebted!!! Thanks! -Bones

Frame: X-Metal/Carbon
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized/Black Iridium/Silver Ice (Custom)

I purchased a pair of partially damaged Carbon Romeo 2.0's with Polarized lenses for a steal on Ebay. Sent them back to Oakley for a frame exchange and got to choose the frame color, so I went with X-Metal. Some on here say that these are not worthy of the X-Metal name since they are half-frames, but the truth is these are about the best pair in the X-Metal lineup.. and I even agree with the price point! Normally I would say they are too expensive, but since they are expensive, there are hardly any around. The X-Metal color with black is always great since you can see the lines of the glasses while maintaining the usefulness of the sunglasses themselves with Black Iridium. I cannot say the same for the Carbon color, since I found nothing special about a 'black' pair of shades since you can really only differentiate these from other glasses if you're a foot or so away from them. As well, they're much lighter than the Romeo 1.0's, feel stronger, and look better. The lens shape is truly awesome, and is the only pair where the lenses actually complete the frame, which is slick and almost military in appearance. By far the best X-Metals going.. though they're retired now and soon will become collectors items!

Frame: All except Plasma

So although the Romeo 2.0 is discontinued, I must say that out of all my Oakleys by far these are my personal favorites. I can even say that they are the best Oakleys of all time for me! Reason being, they look nothing like any other pair of sunglasses on the planet. Nothing can compare with the X-Metal design and uniqueness. "Out of this wolrd" is a term fit for these sunglasses. Comfort wise they are the best fit for my head. The look is sexy, yet industrial, and alien like! When I wear them I get a sense of those around me trying to ask themselves... "How cool would I look in those?". This is not for those "fashionist", this is meant for the individual that is his own trend setter, with no rules and models to follow... I own the world and if I don't I still am Master is the attitude for the Romes!!! Pit Boss, CSIX, are indeed elite... but Romes are my choice of superior!!!

Had a pair of these for 3 years now, brilliant glasses, can't find anything to match them. Incredibly durable, have been bounced down the road, crushed in a bag (made the lenses pop out but they just clipped back in with no problems and are not loose at all), flew down a couple of mountains. Sill in reasonably good condition but am amazed that the frames have not bent up at all.

Brilliant glasses, can't recommend them enough. Just want a pair of blue polarised lenses for them!

Just bought these NOS. Perfect glasses. Awesome mix of very classy with a futuristic edge. Can wear them with a business-suit where a Juliet would be a bit over the top. The R2 just screams luxury. They feel indestructible yet are very pleasing weight-wise. My friend's Juliet is notacibly heavier. Good coverage, but slightly less then my Half Jacket. The polarized lenses are amazing, having only experienced the standard black iridium lenses in my HJ. I just wish Oakley would bring back the X-metal vault, as I feel these brilliant glasses deserve an awesome case. As with all the Oakleys I feel a case should be included, especially with the x-metals looking at the insane price. The Rx-frames and Women-glasses all come with a case as well, so why not for the blokes?

I am amazed at the professional engineering of these! When I got them and opened the box I felt priveleged to own such are beautiful style of daily shades! The temple to temple length is perfect for me as I have a medium to large face. The width is perfect too, these have a unique knack to correct an oblong face or large head too! These are amazing in that they increase your good looks while wearing them! , they are the handsome of handsome sunnies, thats why they are called Romeos I guess! Well done Oakley! I will be keeping these for as long as I can!

These are legendary ,futuristic and vintage + masculine and very cool all combined! The X-Metal grey color Frame always really works with black Iridium lenses and seems to be main stock for the X-Metals! Like Juliets in the X-Metal with Black and Mars X-Metal with black and X-Metal XX in X-Metal with black. They all look sweet in this color combination! (as the frame is a lighter grey color than the black lenses and that border effect really matches). As for the Comfort Romeo 2 seems much lighter and comfy to me than any of the oother X-Metals. I can wear them all day no fatigue. The Polarized black iridium lenses work great and look great! lens The design is very fluid and futuristic! An Almost mysterious shape but it definately looks ultra cool! These are worth the money definately!

After getting them from eBay and wearing them for a few months I guess it's time to write a review.

These are my first X-Metal pair and while I like how the Penny and Juliet looks, they are too small. XX X-metal on the other hand feels too large so I tried on the Romeo 2.0 at an Oakley store. The size is just right and thanks to the flex couplers, the fit adjusted to my features. I usually wear Asian Fit glasses or spring hinged ones but these are amazing. Also having worn prescription glasses before having LASIK I've experienced the discomfort of frames pressing on my temples one too many. Needless to say the hammer stems of the Romeo 2.0 are very welcome. The rimless design is very much appreciated, as makes you feel you don't have the glasses on at times. Although the weight of the frame will remind you periodically. What I don't like is the lack of this models inclusion in the OCE lineup, as I would like a more customized set-up. Looks like I'll be trying to custom cut some lenses.

Oh boy, these glasses in my opinion are the best design from Oakley. Fits perfect on most heads and looks very futuristic. Just bought it used from a friend here in Brazil with the carbon/florida (see exovista site) combo. The florida lenses appear Fire, but with some green (g26) on sides, simply beautiful. Now im gonna buy a G26 custom pair for these babyes, using em everyday.

Frame: X-Metal
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized

For sure, the Romeo 2 are not my favorite model of the X-Metal line-up. Let me tell you why :
I've always loved the desin of the Romeo 1, Mars and Juliet/X-metal XX. What I really liked with those models were the earstems with the elliptic O subtly designed in the front part, and the lens strongly maintained in a full titanium frame.
Romeo 2 broke all this: they received a metal logo and a half frame.
But that's all a matter of design, and once you are used with it, the sensations can take place.

I finally bought one. And believe me, once you've tried them, you'll love them for ever !

Fit is awesome, lens offers a very good coverage with an optimum protection and clarity with no glare (especially with the Polarized ones). With respect to the design, only the nosebridge reminds the X-metal line-up, but the stems are so nicely shaped, with organic curves and logos inserted in its.
I also have the feeling that they are even lighter than my previous X-metals.

My only regret would be the name of the model. Maybe this would have been more fitting to call them Half Juliet or Juliet 2.0, but I'm not really convinced about Romeo 2.0 ... just my humble opinion.

Frame: POLISHED
Lens: TITANIUM IRIDIUM

I finally broke into the X-Metal Collection and im not disappointed. The Polished Metal Frame is very slick and very classy and speaks of the Elite Status of X-Metal. The Design isn't as extreme as i thought it might be but the subtle angles and curves is very attractive and contributes to the overall greatness of this update.
The Titanium Lens isn't anything to brag about based upon the initial appearance but once you wear them for any time you will not want to go to anything else. Great in all conditions and simply a perfect match.

Frame: X-Metal

Love these things. Lighter than my Juliets or Romeo's, and excellent field of vision. Perfect for driving. I do agree they don't really seem like the next step from the Romeo 1's, but a different style alltogether. still great though.

Frame: Carbon

These are the sort of shades you'd wear if you DON'T want to look like Secret Service AND STILL look damn good. A touch heavier then I expected but really cant complain too much since it's all distributed well so wearing them feels even and not like they're gonna fall off. Good idea with the adjustable spring hinges, and the generous lens size with a rimless bottom guarantees a perfect view. The only gripe I would have is that the frame hugged the face a little more - don't really want to loose them and have them fly off!

These glasses though not as flashy as a romeo 1 or a juliet are great. They are very light and very comfortable to wear. The fact that they are not quite as flashy makes them go well on many differant occasions. The gold lens looks really nice in the plasma frame as well. I still like juliets the best, but the romeo 2 is a great frame as well.

Put together my own custom here. I managed to find a brand new gold iridium lenses from a seller on ebay who was selling them seperate due to custom work. I have removed the titaium ones that are standard with polished frame and fitted the gold and they are awesome! and still 100 % oakley. I could of originally gotten gold iridium romeo 2.0's as a full package sunglasses but I am not a fan of the plasma frame and like polished best. So to other cusomizers out there this combination looks awesome like precious gold and silver together.

Frame: Polished

Sweet Shades the polished frames with titanium looks awesome! The romeo 2 design is very unique looking and slightly mysterious but cool and elegant and masculine too. The semi rimless frame swirls on the side (like a merino rams horns lol) however I rekon that effect looks amazingly cool and masculine, and what more can I say they are x-metal Oakleys! and they bear the legendary Romeo name! The design quality is amazing. Lighter than the original romeo is a huge bonus I can wear the shades all day no problems in comfort. Compare that to when I had Romeo 1.0's they annoyed me somewhat after about and hour of wear due to the weight I feel. So the new 2.0's are just what I was waiting for and I will stick by these shades as long as I can, the best and 5 stars for me!

Very comfortable pair of shades. Lighter than a normal pair of x-metals, due to the half frame design. Frame fits my medium sized head a little more loosely than my XX' (all using the size 15 temple shocks). These also have excellent lens coverage, just like the XX's.

Tough call between the two of my favorite x-metals... The XX's look a little more aggressive, while the Romeo 2's definitely have a classy look to them. A little more on the sophisticated side, compared to the other x-metals.

I was supposed to get a juliet. I never really liked having "half framed" glasses because its really annoying plus the fact that extra care should be given for such glasses. but after trying out r2.0, i fell in love with how it fits my head. it is sleek, stylish and not too loud. i can even use it while driving at late afternoon. plus the fact that i was sold to me at almost half the price, there's no doubt i opted for this one.

Great set of glases the best pair i own. And i have a big head and they fit very comforably. I have two pairs of Romeo 1 and both crack on the middle join. Actually like my R1 better. Got this color combo for a little more clarity in darker lighting. Really nice glasses as all X-Metals but it somehow always looks abit small on my face. I do not have a melon head but the R1 seems to look more natural on me. Definitely lighter weight but I hate the oil smudges on the bottom of the lense when I'm doing outdoor activities. Really like them but love my R1.

These are a fantastic sunglass, well worth the money. Yeah, it's a staggering price, but the way the polished frames look, along with the optical performance, these easily beat out all other performance shades on the market. The lenses truly bath your vision in clarity and the open-rim look gives you an unprecedented view downwards. The only downside must be that the frame is easily marred by your fingers, but that can be remedied easily with a wipe of the micro-cleaning bag.

These have been my daily use pair for over 6 months now and before that I wore the X Metal ones. I can't say enough good things about these! I have worn them literally all day before and forgotten I even had them on. For those of us with XL heads these are a godsend. They fit me like Oakley made them just for me. The fit is perfect and the coverage is great, I get no light leakage at all. I'm in Qatar for my job and use these as my safety glasses and they are performing flawlessly being worn all day everyday. If you're thinking about getting these but hesitant because of the cost, don't hesitate. They are worth every penny.

Lightweight for an X Metal, but I can't help but feel this colorway is too bland. The styling itself is quite nice, and has the Oakley vibe, but the frame would really benefit from having a bit of flash.

Overall, they're a 5/5 in terms of build quality and styling, but I'm deducting a mark because this colorway simply doesn't work. It does nothing to complement the design; these are supposed to be aggressive, yet with such a bland scheme they don't stand out like they should. I kinda wish I had bought the Pol/Ti Iridium version instead. Oh well.

I am on the borderline of headsizes/shapes that are too big for Juliets, so I decided to move up to the Romeo 2.0. I have to say I'm really happy with that decision because they are the perfect fit for me. The lenses don't rest on my cheekbones, but coverage is excellent. I love the lens color and the way everything looks through gold iridium. The look is aggressive but classy--I always get good comments on them.

Another factory custom. It has takes the flashy Romeo 2 frame and partners it with an Emerald Iridium. When these first were released there was some question as to the lens color. Was it Fire? Or, was it Ruby? Well, it was Fire and they look fantastic. I was very excited to get these and very dissapointed afterward.

I will start by saying that one of my ears is very slightly lower than the other. I own plenty of Oakley sunglasses, and have been able to adjust all of them to my head until the ROmeo II came along.

The pair I got from the local Vault store had a few problems right out of the box: one lens rocked back and forth in its socket, and one side of the flex coupler was tighter than tho other. This second defect prevented me from being able to adjustthem so they astayed on straight. I sent them back to Oakley and told them the problems. When I received them back from Oakley they were no better. They had corrected neither problem. Every pair in the Vault store had the same flex coupler problem, and I suspect, many others suffer from this problem. This may not affect many people, but they were unwearable in my judgement.

The style is beautiful: simple and solid. In my opinion, it was poorly executed and/or engineered.

The Romeo 2 is never out of place for any occasion and I've used them in formal business outings without any strange stares. I have been complimented wearing these a couple of times including an ex-boss who thought my Ruby Juliet was too aggressive when meeting a client.

I saw Ichiro wearing this with polarized lenses and decided to do the same. But the chief reason is that I'm at sea several times a month and these are effective against glare from the water surface. They are a little big but I've gotten used to them touching my cheeks.

I've delayed purchasing them due to the hefty price tag but just holding them when I finally got it was a moment of pure ecstacy. Curious at why it cost that much for a frame that obviously uses less material than the other X metal, I asked Oakley this question when I bought the polarized lenses and they said it had to do with the fact that the half-rim design on an X metal is trickier to handle in the design and especially the manufacturing plus they had to make sure these don't have the design flaws of its predeccessor, the original Romeo. These are not called the lord of all X metal for nothing. A must-have for any X metal collector.

The rarity of these glasses cause them to be a small investment -but they are well worth the cost. This colour combination just jumps out of the very boring selection of Romeo 2.0's currently available in mass quantities. I am an owner of the original Romeos and a pair of Juliets, but there is something about these glasses (besides the color combo) that just jumps out at you. I cannot keep track of the amount of people who notice these glasses. They are a near perfect design and a great addition to any collection.

I like the R2's a lot but this color scheme is ok. I think it would've been better with an Ice lens. The gold and plasma together seem to solid. Still had to get it for the collection.

Love this pair. Totatlly worth the big bucks. Carbon fire is a great combo.

Slightly more subdued than the other X-metals. Better? Not necessarily. Not as flashy as the others. I would think of these as the Tuxedo of the X-metal line; elegant and understated. Titanium makes them lighter than the others, so they do not have the protected feel as the others, but are still X-metals and still rugged nonetheless.

These are amazing, they look spectacular and as i have said about the romeo 2 before they are super comfortable. Carbon and fire were made for eachother.
great great combo and the fact that only 500 have been made makes them even more special.
a must have!

i have this in my possesion of one single day before i decided to trade it for a pair of juliet(ichiro), was not really impressed when i had the R2 in hand, unlike when i was looking at it at the store.

the lenses are too big and it sticks to my cheek. R2 is more suited for westeners than asian. but overall, it's a nice product, sleeker than juliet in design term.

Getting a little more used to it but the half rim design still gets at me. I refrain from voting on this one but I just wanted to make it known that I gave the Romeo 2 more chances and it hasn't let me down. Somewhat frustrated that it doesn't fit my face all that well, and that I have to query Oakley JAPAN in order to get the nosebombs that will make these shades fit right.

X-Metal finish is still too nice and smooth. I wonder what the R2 would look like with the production quality of the first X-Metals? Pretty awesome I'd think.

From owning Juliets beforehand, I can notice a dramatic drop in the weight. These glasses are very comfortable and the new design on the earstems is awesome.
The price is a bit hefty and I feel that Oakley could have at least provided a soft vault for these beautys.
The Titanium Iridium lens is fantastic and really provides the extra contrast in comparison to the Ice lens.
The polished frame looks classy, but is prone to fingerprint marks which is why i rated them a 4
It took me a few goes before I got them sitting just right on my face, as the lenses originally touched my cheeks. However once I got them into shape, they are perfect.
All in all, a top set of sunnies and would recommend to anybody.

Really like this combo - it really stands out. The fire lens does not seem to be as dark as the R1/Fire which gives benefit to cloudy days or indoor use. I truly like the frame much more than I thought although it does lend itself to smaller faces...

The Fire lens is not as orange as I thought it'd be...kinda a cross between fire and 24k. It's a nice model, but it's made for thinner faces. I'm also used to the no hassle replacement of templeshocks on the other X-metals, and I've found the R2 shocks a pain to replace. Overall, the R2 is a nice model but it certainly doesn't compare with the other members of the X-metal family.

It takes too long for me to get this pair bacause of its price. I have to wait for a sweet deal at ebay to get one. I'm very impressed by its weight and how it fits. However, as with half jacket I find it hard maintaining the lenses of this type in good condition if heavily used. The earstem touches the rim when folded. However, this could easily be among the top ranks of oakley glasses had it not been for the price.

I love these glasses BUT!! My face is too small. Even after changing the nose pads the bottom of the lens still touches my cheeks. Love the BI Polarized lens.

I bought these to wear on my deployment and fell in love with them. Wore them close to 12 hours a day for 124 days. I love the fact that they have no bottom to the frame. So sexy!! I just had them repaired because the lens got a scratch on it from working. But they no longer go to work with me any more since they have been fixed. I know they don't make them with this frame and lens combo, but when I had them fixed I asked if I could have the polarized lens put on them and the did. They said they tend to cater to people that have the Romeo 2.0's. Since they are kind of pricey. So if it sounds like something you want to do they will do it for you.

I can't believe how light these are. These are so light for X-metals. The lenses fit very well too. The half lenses are a little different look for x-metal but still and nice looking pair.

WOW.
I dont normally give fives but i wore these for 9 hours straight today and loved them. i was delaying getting R2s cos i wanted to wait for some more combos but bit the bullet and decided to get these. these are my 9th X-metal and already my fave.
they are extremely comfortable and light plus they look spectacular.
plasma gold is a great combo dunno why it hasnt been done in any other X-metal.

After wearing Juliets for a few years, then briefly switching to X-Metal XX for the extra coverage, I've finally found my perfect pair in the Romeo 2. X-Metals all have a nice chic about them, what with all the fancy alloys and curvy shapes :-) The problem is their weight; they're too heavy to wear all day, and start to give you nose marks after an hour or so. The Romeo 2 is significantly lighter than the other pairs, but still fits my medium-large head size. And the style is awesome.

I got the Carbon/Black set, and sent them in to Oakley to have them fitted with Black Polarized instead, so that they'd be a little more versatile (I really prefer polarized while driving long distances, which reduces eye fatigue).

Great Sunglasses! Amazing fluid design! The 3 dimensional styling looks incredibly sleek! Yet still got a somewhat Vintage look even with the modern edge, but thats a great thing in my opinion! These are super cool looking, the carbon black combo gives a like Terminator cool looks! Had a look at myself in a pic that my brother took when I got them and they look fantastic and suit me better than any of the other X-Metals. They are so comfy too, I can't believe that they are made of metal when they are this light! Legendary shades and my favourite Oakleys to date! I'll plan on keeping them as long as I can!

Absolutely loved the design at first sight. "you will be mine" Carbon being my favoutite opted for these first.
Very light and the rimless design suits.
Again pity the lens option is not an Oakley priority. Though with the HJ lens there are lots of possibilities

I've been waiting and waiting for another X-Metal model to be released and when I saw these I knew I was going to buy a pair at some point. I finally did a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with them. I love the colorway and I also like the half frame style. Plus in my opinion this colorway is a nice change from what the other X-Metal models have to offer.

Finally got a good deal on these beauties. Ever since I sold my Polished/Fire Polarized Juliets, I've been wanting another Polished X-Metal frame, and this was the best option in my opinion. To me, the polished finish is less about flash and more about showing off the nice titanium color and intricate frame/earstem sculpting. As always, the Titanium lenses are oh-so-pleasing to the eyes. Seems so appropriate to have a Ti lens on an X-Metal frame, since X-Metal is largely titanium.

I gave these a 4 only because the fit is not as universal as Juliet (the "droop" of the lenses puts the outside edges quite close to my face) and the price is just too high for anyone other than diehard fans to swallow.

As a proud new owner, I've changed my tune a little. These really are awesome X-Metals. Not bulky, not really heavy, and oh so stylish. The Polish/Ti combo goes very well together and doesn't shout *bling*, but just stands out as a nice pair of glasses. I don't agree with the price, but what can you do.

These are simply awesome!! The half-rim design makes vision way better and without the bottom half of the orbital, the weight drops drastically. They fit like a glove and I usually forget I'm wearing them. The Ti lens is very cool.

Excellent design. I never had a chance to try on the original Romeos but these feel like a worthy product to carry on the name. They're much lighter than any of the other X-metals out there due to the thinner frame but they still feel quite stout and would probably stand up to everyday wear. The polished finish is nice and flashy goes great with the Titanium lenses. The only negative is the higher price, although if I had the means, I'd probably snap these up in an instant.

Well I wanted some new x-metals and felt why not go with a new design. they suited me so i dived in a shelled out the dollars. I have since found they fit really well and never seen to heavy. The lens gives great coverage, and with it rimless on the bottom half I personally feel vision is improved. The unobtainium on the ear stems is ok but would have been better had they not imprinted Made in USA on the inside edge, a little bulkier may have helped also. Overall I'm wrapped and should see some great use out of these. the color is not overstated or boring. As for the polarized lens nothing to say except - perfect!
Only truly bad thing is Price. which really needs attention most of all. I got mine for 25% off so I can't really complain but others will and sales will suffer.

Tried on a pair that my friend had. These sunglasses are nice, but $435 for polarized shades?!

Romeo II fits snuggly on my face just like my Juliets and they are very light weight. The half rim design looks unique for an X-Metal and I found it funny they called this the Romeo II rather than a completely new name. The Oakley logo on the temples is also a nice and different touch for x-metals. Giving it only 4 stars because I didn't like how the lenses come to a point towards the temples (due to the half rim design)and these are really expensive.

A superb pair of glasses, and I particularly like the arm detailing. I think it's a shame that they are half frames in a way I would have liked to have seen a full frame, though they are super cool. However, just that little bit too expensive.

These are Amazing, i tried on these and the polished/ti today and im so annoyed cos i really wanna pair but i want to wait for some new combos.
they feel alot lighter than the other X-metals, they did feel a bit tight at the back though, that can probably be fixed by changing the temple shocks.

The sculptured style on these Romeo 2's are just amazing. The Juliets are great, and often the standard for Xmetals. But these R2's bring a wonderfully fluid style, awesome! Lightweight as all heck. The only potential downfall may be the longterm success of keeping the lenses in good condition considering the half-frame style.

I am the proud owner of the pair 4081 out of the 5000 original X-Metal Romeo's. Not since I first bought them in June of 1997 have I been so excited to own a new pair of Oakley's. The New Romeo 2 has been well worth the wait.

Lens: Black Iridium

Size/Weight: Being half frames they feel noticably lighter than a pair of juliets (juliets = 42grammes and R2's = 38grammes) but the nosebombs on the R2's are quite narrow which means after wearing them for a while I found they tended to leave two red marks on my nose. Other than that, the frame and lens size feels just right for me.
Quality of X Metal Casting: I've noticed a couple of tiny pits in the frame but they don't detract from the overall appearance of the glasses and from anything less than a very close up inspection you would never spot the flaws.
General Frame: The frame itself is nicely symmetrical with the only downside being that the right side earstem touches the lens when you close it, however the left side doesn't so if you close the left first this isn't a problem. It's just a bit annoying. Also the frame doesn't fit either the single or double display stands, having tried every possible position to get them on the stands it just won't fit. Thats a minor issue really, I just need a different stand for them.

Never tried them on, don't care. Just looking at them sells me. I've always been a fan of Romeos so this is no different for me. If the fit is between that of Romeo and Juliet, these very well may be the best fitting X-Metals ever, for me.

Finally got to try these on recently. I'm very impressed with what they did in terms of design and weight. However I did like the bulkiness of the originals, since I could just go with a wire if I wanted to. The fit is awesome, and the only reason I'm giving a 4, is due to the insane price that these are coming out at.
