Frame: Crystal Black
Lens: Fire Polarized

I have 3 pairs of these right now, and I've owned several others. These fit great on medium to large heads. I can wear both Juliets and Romeos confortably, and these fit me very well. For another reference point, Minutes are too small for me and Straight Jackets are a bit too big. Awesome coverage and styling. The way lower part of the orbital leading to the earstem is shaped, gives these an aggressive look with or without a bright colorway. The unobtanium nosebombs are great when you know you'll be sweating and obsolutely cannot lose your sunglasses.
Crystal black is amazing in this frame, and I love the goldenrod icons. Fire polarized is a fantastic and versatile lens. This color combo in getting hard to find, and can also be found with non-polarized fire lenses

Frame: Jet Black +
Lens: Ruby +

I remember when the rep first showed me these, FMJ with Ice. I had them in my hands, I tried them on, I couldn't get over they o-matter frame with Unobtainium nose bombs. They were so nice. The rep didn't have a name to give me though. I had thought they were some new Jacket, or an evolution of the Minute. I do remember them having the XX stamp on the nose bridge though (the Minute was the only other pair I had seen with the logo stamp there at the time).

This was also the first time seeing Fire and Ice, but I was never a fan of the FMJ frames. I had gone with Emerald/Gold for my first pair. First day we had them in stock they were mine. Another throw back to the Fuel Eye jacket in my mind. I eventually went through wearing FMJ/Fire, Jet Black/Ruby, Midnight/24K, Jet Black/Ice and FMJ/Ice. I kept the Jet Black with Ruby. It was nice to get an affordable Ruby lens, and as I had said in my Juliet review, these two style are almost twins. I had actually imagined the XX being released as a Dark FMJ with Ruby to more mimic the Juliet from X-men. I heard it so many times "why are the Juliet's from X-men $400?" I would just recommend the Ruby Twenty.

A great frame. Not flimsy and not rigid. The thin ear stems were awesome and the square (tea cup) lens was a good fit. When you look at this as an upgrade from the Fives it was like Oakley had made major advancements. A Frogskins with Ear socks and Nose Bombs was un-thought-of, and to fit with a wrap like a Jacket was an excellent plus. In my opinion these are the greatest Oakley's made for their O-Matter frames.

Although they're certainly frogskins, they look like a jacket, and they definitely fit like a jacket.Since I was unlucky enough to not be able to wear the minutes, due to their scaled down size,I found comfort in these.Nice coverage, nice fit, nice colorway. One thing I like in the xx is the matching color unobtainium parts. These and the fire/emerald model which I hope to find are my favourites out of all the xx line. And the fmj makes it all better as usual.I strongly believe that the xx is the frogskin equivalent to minutes, for those that couldn't wear them, with the exception of the different lens shape of course.

Frame: FMJ and Jet Black
Lens: Ice and Ruby

Bought both these pairs at the same time. They're both great. I don't wear the jet black with the ruby lenses that often because they're really crazy and need to be worn at the right time. The FMJ with Ice is much more my style, however I tend to sway more towards wearing my Hatchets more than the XXs...

Frame: Bronze
Lens: Titanium iridium polarized

These are good, and I mean really good!!!Incorporating the excellent bronze frame and the high end titanium iridium lenses, specially in the polarized version is something that you don't see from oakley very often. And that, alone, makes this pair very special. My biggest complaint with the past series of oakley was that the polarized versions were sort of left out.I mean, usually the non polarized models used to take all the great finishes, fmj etc,and the good colorways.Furthermore, the polarized versions were very limited compared to the overall volume of a model's colorways, and this can be specifically noticed with the minutes.Very few polarized models. However,in the case of the xx,we had some more, and this one is really great.I think it makes up for the lack of finishes on the other models.
The fit is good, but since I have some other editions of the xx,I noticed that they are somewhat loose on my head, compared to the rest.A batch problem perhaps?Certainly unexpected for a o-matter frame. The xx look is as always prevailing, and the bronze finish looks solid. The polarized titanium lenses can be used literally under any light circumstances, and in a strange way, they are brighter that their non polarized counterparts, something that is very unusual with the polarized lenses though. They certainly do quite a contrast with the bronze frame.THIS is the king of lenses!!!The perfect mirror effect.Simply a majestic pair of sunglasses, and I'm so glad I grabbed them as soon as I saw them.Grandeur!!!!!

My brother has these, and I must say that they are a solid choice for an everyday pair. Which is why they are one of the more commonly spotted Oakley models. Not much in the way of evolution with this model, which points to both a stellar initial design, and also a lack of improvement on the initial design. I'd have figured that adjustments similar to the Minute's durability improvements would've been made by now. Bonus points for a glut of color options though.

Frame: FMJ Red
Lens: Black Iridium

My first pair of Oakley's I bought at the Hong Kong airport back in 2002, wore them until 2006. Before these, I used to think Oakley's were kind of gimmicky and overpriced but as soon as i put them on in the sun they just felt right. I had them on my head pretty much all the time, if not being used as sunglasses I had them as a headband for my long hair.

After around four years the FMJ paint started to peel and people would point them out and laugh saying they were fake. I actually thought they looked even cooler with the peeling paint. I wish they still made these.

Frame: Black
Lens: Ice Iridium

Indestructible. I have treated my XX's pretty rough over the years, and they never give up. I'm on my second pair of lenses (started with Grey, now Ice) and second pair of socks. The logo on the nose is almost entirely worn off, one of the silver 'O' logos on the temple is missing (It is red underneath, oddly), and the temples have been accidentally knocked off several times, but they still wear fine.

Currently my everyday wears since I lost my half jackets, but is is almost time to move the 'ol XX's back to second-string duty...although they will probably still see motorcycle duty.

Frame:fmj5.56
Lens:fire iridium/ice iridium

They are definitely two of the best pairs that I've got,and a classic design from the o-matter series.Along with the minute and the new straight jacket, they make the most distinctive team of the golden era of oakley, back there in late 90's,early 00's.Their design is thin and elegant, and the color matching unobtainium on the earstems and the nosebombs(specially on the fmj/fire model), futher distinguishes them, and make theme stand out from all the rest. One thing that got me time to get used to,though,is the fire iridium lens, that was much different from whatever I'd been used to wear up to now,but I've already have appreciated it's tint, since it's a lens that can be worn even on very sunny, bright days too. They're really a great pair of sunglasses. As I already said,a true oakley classic!
FishHead -
Frame: Black
Lens: Grey (SI)

Fit - for my asian face, this is a wonderful fit with it barely touching my cheeks when i smile. Very comfortable indeed. I like that is has unobotonium nosebombs, the newer models meant to replace this in USStandedIssue are the minutes and they aren't as comfy as the XX (the minutes fit smaller and don't have nosebombs)

Lens - grey lens and they are absolutely perfect as it fits in with the military uniform. I didn't get polarized because all the gauges in our aircraft are already polarized and this would offset the effects.

These were the first sunglasses I used in the military and they are still the first pair of oakleys I reach for when I go forward location (My unit is the most deployed aircraft in the military). They have been to hell and back. I LOVE these glasses.

I have some scratches on the lenses from years of wear and tear. Unfortunately, USStandardIssue does not offer replacement lenses for them so I have to go through oakley. However, oakley charges $50 for the lenses which is the price i paid for the frams and lenses in the first place!

It'd be nice if oakley brought these back because the minute 2.0 that is being issued isn't as nice as the XX

Frame: FMJ 5.56

They look nice enough. They have both nosebombs and earsocks. They should be a Jacket and not a Frogskin. Lineage be damned!
TERRORISM -
Frame: Navy (Auburn)
Lens: Fire

Navy/Fire (Auburn University) represents a unique colorway to the Oakley Twenty collegiate lineup. Even though I'm not familiar with Auburn University, I don't care - these shades incorporate one of Oakley's greatest designs with one of their best color combos. The laser-etched insignia for Auburn University even graces the corner of the left lens, which adds a bit of appeal. If you collect Twentys, good luck trying to find a pair of these for your collection.

TERRORISM -
Frame: Rootbeer
Lens: 24K Gold

Can a pair of shades be both subtle and flashy at the same time? Perhaps. The Rootbeer/24K Gold Twentys seem to fit that description exceptionally well. Although the Twenty design is relatively simple, it still incorporates enough curves to be considered somewhat agressive in appearance. Add a frame that's fairly simple in color (matte brown) and pair it with gorgeous gold icons and lenses and you have a visual masterpiece - both aesthetically and for looking through. This pair even inspired me to create the Brown/24K Gold Juliets!
TERRORISM -
Frame: FMJ 5.56
Lens: Fire Iridium

One of the most popular and widely recognizable pairs of Oakleys ever, the FMJ 5.56/Fire Iridium Twentys are an instant classic! Super styling, excellent coverage, and a color combination that commands attention are all part of the package. Adding an FMJ frame for increased durability (and visual appeal) enhances this killer pair of shades even further. It would have been great if Oakley had released a polarized version, though.

Frame: Emerald
Lens: Gold Iridium

I have loved these since the day I saw them in the display case. Frame color is like car flake paint! Beautiful!! Most comfortable pair of sunglasses I've owned...and I've got only Oakleys. They have prescription polarized lenses now. These have been through hell and still look wonderful! Dogs started to chew on them...but lost interest when nothing would break! 7 years old and still my daily pair. I love my Twentys!!!

Honestly I just got mine but I can't live without them.....I'm going to a training camp and trackmeet in Florida in 2 11 days and I can't to try them out.....I love how bright the lenses are and the ruby gives them a nice touch as well as the ruby icons awesome!!

Frame: FMJ 5.56
Lens: Emerald Iridium

They dont fit as well as my Juliets, but thats to be expected in the $200ish price gap. They are very comfortable, good to wear just to relax in. The ear stems and nose bombs are green as well, which is good. With a silverish frame, any other color would just plain not look good. If I find another pair I like, I'd be tempted to pick them up.
Scot -
Frame: FMJ 5.56
Lens: Ice Iridium
Great for kicking around, but never fit all that well for sports. Not enough coverage against the sun and wind, and didn't fit tight enough. Great looks for casual, but nothing too flashy. FMJ finish seems to be holding up well, but they also haven't been worn much for sports.
TERRORISM -
Frame: Bloodskull
Lens: Black Iridium

My favorite Frogskins of all time, the Twenty lineup is sleek, smooth, and offers excellent coverage for average-sized profiles. The contours of the frame prevent light from leaking into the periphery for most faces, and the unobtainium earsocks and nosebombs ensure increased grip while maintaining comfort. The bloodskull on this particular pair greatly enhances the aesthetics, and the black iridium reduces blinding glare. My only wish for this pair would have been for polarization.
idealoakley -
Frame: Midnight Blue
Lens: H.I. YELLOW
I use these for biking at night and darker days. I also use them at the shooting range as they brighten everything up a bit. My only complaint is the ghosting that occurs due to the lens coating. After a while of wearing them you sort of get used to this. They look pretty cool too!
idealoakley -
Frame: FMJ 5.56
Lens: FIRE
This in my opinion has got to be the greatest colour combo that OAKLEY has put out to date. These frames do not pick up the tiny nicks and scratches that others will. The lenses are very rich in colour. THey are the best lens for overly bright conditions and people constantly comment on the colour combo. Excellent eye coverage for people with medium to large heads.
idealoakley -
Frame: Jet Black
Lens: Ruby
These are one of my favorites. They look great. I don't know if there are generation colour differences with the XX RUBY but mine are dark red with lots of purple. They are dark enough to wear on super sunny days and light enough that you can get away with wearing them into the evening dusk hours.

Frame: Jet Black

Simple design, nothing outstanding but I do like the thin ear-stems. Coverage is excellent. These glasses totally do not sit well on my face (I'm asian) but hey, what the heck. They look nice in my display case. If only they made larger nosebombs ...

Frame: Navy (Michigan)
Lens: Black Iridium

As far as Oakley goes, these are relatively plain and simple. The XX is certainly not extreme, but it is also far from what I'd consider conservative. I suppose for that reason I never really felt that I needed these until the Collegiate series came and went. As a Michigan alumnus and an Oakley fan, I figured I had to get these.

The frame has good balance of rigidity across the front and flexibility along the earstems. Unobtainium earsocks and nosebombs make these nice and grippy on your head. The overall lens shape complements a variety of face shapes and is much more forgiving style-wise than the elliptical Eye Jacket lenses.

The Navy frame color is painted onto white O-Matter, and it does get very thin where the frame has sharp edges (allowing the white to show through). I was surprised to see this, as I had never noticed it before on other painted frames. Not sure why Oakley chose Black Iridium for a Michigan colorway (24K would have been better and was available for the collegiate M-Frame), but at least the block M etching sets this pair apart from standard offerings.

Frame: Jet Black
Lens: Ruby Iridium

I really am starting to like the jet black frame a lot more. It even looks better with the Ruby lens. These are a very comfortable pair to wear. They are very light weight and eye coverage is excellent. The Ruby/jet black combo looks awesome.
jumpman73 -
Frame: Midnight
Lens: H.I. Blue

This color combination is great. The midnight frame goes real well with the H.I. Blue. I really like wearing these in any type of condition even though I think its better during overcast. This frame is very light weight and the eye coverage is excellent. They are very comfortable to wear.

Frame: FMJ Silver
Lens: Ice Iridium
Got these 6-7 years ago and really liked them back then. I have slowly "grown out" of them. I can't help shaking the feeling that these are for the kids. Really flashy silver and blue. Plus they never really fit my face right. I don't know I guess I like the tint, but they sit on my shelf and never get used anymore.
Plan-B -
Frame: Black
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized (replaced with Fire Polarized)

Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Ruby Iridium

I have 2 pairs of XXs. Since this isn't a lens review, I'm not going to get to involved with the differences in my lens choices though I really wish there was a Ruby Polarized option. That would be the ideal lens for me.

The XX is one of the few pairs of Oakleys I have that I feel were made specifically for my oddball head shape. I have a wide melon, but it's eye-to-ear depth is very short. The Romeo 2.0s fit me great but the ear stems stick out in the back. The Spikes have better wrap, but the Titanium frames have a major design flaw. These XXs only compete with Splice for the perfect width on me. The fact that you can get them with Ruby lenses and Red icons sealed the deal for me.

I originally bought the Black Polarized pair to keep in my car as a backup. That was before I started getting all type-A with my Oakleys and keeping them in the house instead. At the time, they were the least expensive polarized pair of Oakleys that fit me well. Like all O Matter frames, they're very lightweight. The material has enough flex (like Splice) to stay comfortable for all-day wearing. I have other O Matter frames (Canteen and Half Jacket come to mind) that don't flex much and are only comfortable to wear for about an hour at a time.

I plan on tracking down a 3rd pair of these. If I can get my hands on the black skull frames and stick a pair of Ruby lenses in them, I'd be a very happy camper.

Comfortable, lightweight, robust and good clarity of optics.
A good all rounder. Styled for medium to large faces, these were released in 2000, and are still pretty cool and wearable today.

Frame:Electric Mustard

Probably the most stand up and take notice O-Matter combos there is. the super shiny gold of the Electric Mustard teamed with a fire lens equals this outrageous combo. This are very very difficult to find so if your a XX fan grab them if you can.

Frame: Jet Black
Lens: G30
I do not have intention of owning a pair of XX until good oppurtunity presented itself. I should have bought this a long time ago. It fits really good, wraps around the face and comfortable to use even for a long period. Being in a country with tropical climate, the G30 is a good lens to use specially during rainy season.

Frame: Navy (Kentucky Collegiate)
Lens: Black Iridium

Got these for Christmas. I had intended to get XX's someday, but it really took a freebie to finally have them. The Collegiate line is a nice touch since those will only get rarer. XX's continue to be produced, but the College ones stopped production shortly after they were released, so it's nice to have a part of this short experiment.

Cheap, light weight and extremely comfortable. You won't have the heavy metal feeling. They are very fit and very suitable for sport activities. They are also my very first pair, since then I fall in love with Oakley.

Seemed to fit a larger face better than the Minutes. Timeless styling, fantastic variety, and indestructible build quality have been the main reasons why mine have seen daily duty for six years and counting.

Frame: SI (Black frame)
Lens: SI (Grey lens)

These are very durable, thats why they are used by the military and law enforcement. They are better for small-medium size faces, if you have a large face you will see the rims and it will get very annoying after time. They are very comfortable/lightweight, and stay on your head while exercising.

Frame: Midnight

These are very comfortable and I got them right when they came out, but now the midnight color seems a little boring to me. I'm thinking about trading/buying a FMJ Red pair because I love that color and it wasn't offered on too many glasses. Just a solid glass over all.

Frame: Jet Black

When I first got into Oakley, all my friends were wearing Minutes. However, Minutes did not suit my face at all, so I held off. Then Oakley released the Twenty, which are very similar to Minutes. The change is the shape of the lens, which is stretched out from the temple to make these a much nicer looking pair of sunnies compared to the rakish, smaller Minutes.

I have had these sitting on my shelf in their box for about 2 and a half years. I used to like them but now I just can't get excited about the way they fit my face.

Design wise, these are a very benign model of Oakley. The subtleties however, lie in the way the ear stem connects with the orbital. Look at the way it has been designed. It would have taken Oakley a long time to get it so perfect.

These are nice sunglasses but if you were talking Oakleys, I have seen a lot better.

Frame: Most of the FMJ's and the Jet Blacks, Crystal Black
Lens: Ice, Fire, Black, Emerald, G30, Black

What can I say, I really like Jet Black XXs for some reason and they tend to suit me the best of any Oakley Frames I had tried to date. The unobtanium on the arms and the nose is a great feature and you can use these for just about anything.

I was at one time committed on getting the entire FMJ line of XX's, had to give several away as gifts because i'd never find reason to wear all the ones I had bought. Probably my most favorite O-matter frame and highly reccommended to those of you reading out there!

Another bonus is that replacment earsock and lens kits can be bought seperately!
LEX7 -
Frame:Crystal Black, Jet Black, Polished Aluminum
Lens:Fire Polarized, Ruby Iridium, Black Iridium

I like these glasses alot, I have 3 pairs and I find them one of the best oakleys for playing sport. They are very comfortable so they are great to wear for long periods of time. they fit me perfectly and they have very flexible arms so good for people with big heads and easy to take on and off. The unobtanium on the arms is great for grip during sport so they wont fly off during a game. The only thing is they are not the biggest of glasses in terms of lens size, they do not wraparound so they will let some sunlight in. As far as I can tell that is there only bad point.

One word. Bombproof. I have owned these glasses for over 6 years and they are still scratch free and in great shape. Oakley replaced one temple that broke when I shoved them into my computer bag in a travel induced rush.

Frame: FMJ 5.56
Lens: Ice Iridium

I use my XX as a multi purpose glass - sports or casual, and it works really well, especially as the Ice iridium offers good contrast and light transmission in most conditions. They are extremely comfortable and offer a good fit, staying relatively close to the forehead. My FMJ has chipped slightly off the 'O' end of the ear stem despite my excellent care of them, but otherwise a cracking glass.

I love these glasses!! They are amazing. The ice lenses with jet black frames look great. My 2nd pair of Oakley's. Got them for $100 at Sunglass Hut. I take my twenty's everywhere I go. I can't go anywhere without them. They fit great!!

Frame: Midnight
Lens: 24k

I got these because my Eye Jackets were broken and I wanted to spend some money on something expensive. These were my second pair and the second pair of DCJ ;)

I love this color scheme, even though it is very trendy. These glasses are comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and they also have the feature that I like of the disconnecting ear stem. The price is also fairly reasonable. 4/5, because I just don't take them for a 5, ya know?
TERRORISM -
Frame: Midnight
Lens: H.I. Yellow

As always, the design of the Twentys - both aesthetically and functionally - deserves accolades. The glasses combine a sleek, aerodynamic look with the functionality of a wraparound design, unobtainium earsocks and nosebombs, and iridium lens coatings to reduce glare. For this particular color combo, the contrast of the "Midnight" (dark blue) works very well with the H.I. Yellow lenses, and adds visual appeal. The lenses themselves actually brighten the environment, and would be best suited for low-light or possibly overcast conditions. Due to the limited use of the lenses, however, they only receive four skulls from TERRORISM.
