Casting: Titanium
Face: Cannon Red

I am loving every second of this watch! The Cannon Red Face is simply stunning alone and even better next to the Titanium Frame. One of the best watches both visually and mechanically. Based on the pics I felt the black dots on the red face destroyed the beauty on the watch however, when I saw this thing in person that theory was destroyed. It looked amazing. I never had a problem with the O engine system. The watch would stop working if left for days but would be easy to restart and never stopped while in use.. I have treated my watch carefully and with almost regular wear I have not scratched the surface, although careless wear would obviously cause scratches which would be distinct on this watch, given the titanium and the non-crystal face, thereby decreasing its visual affect. Otherwise this watch is simply the best. It I could give it more than 5 Skulls, I would.

Frame: Titanium
Face: Carbon Fibre

I was in an O Store the other day, saw a brand new Timebomb standing proudly in a display case and was absolutely mesmerised; I did own one already, but it just reminded me of how mine looked when I first had it in my grubby little hands. Call me crazy, but I bought mine with the full-on intention of knocking it about (I got it second-hand, so I didn't feel too bad about it). It has held up pretty well despite the number of scratches on the band and some gouging on the crystal.

The Time Bomb does not have a lot of extras going for it, and is simple as simple can be. It employs a HardEx crystal instead of sapphire, while being quite strong is not scratchproof (this is because sapphire cannot angle the light onto the face as well at that curvature, apparently). The Time Bomb also does not have smooth hand motion, and does not have automatic date skipping (you will have to manually change the date to incorporate shorter months). Functionally, the most useful aspect of the Time Bomb is the O-Engine; a fancy name for the kinetic engine which charges the battery as the watch is swung on your wrist.

However, visually, the Time Bomb is unmatched and is the selling point for most. The design flows so well, so fluidly, and is an incarnation of the sculptural physics that Oakley boasts and achieves so well. In fact, it looks more like an industrial machine than something that simply tells you the time. There is even a small window on the back of the watch that most people won't even see (unless you show them!). This is where you can see the O-Engine grind gears into motion, and such attention to detail is undoubtedly a nice touch.

Pictures simply do not do; I seriously believe that the design can only be appreciated in person.

One thing that should be kept in mind is the size of the watch; some have mentioned that it is quite large due to the small angle at which the band can curve, but unless you have very thin wrists, it shouldn't be a problem to wear. For example, I have wrists which are roughly 16cm around but the Time Bomb accommodates nicely; the rubber unobtainium pads help massively in this regard. Also, though it is hefty, it is not heavy, thanks to light-weight Titanium. Finally, there is a barely audible buzz when the gears charge the capacitor; not really an issue in the real world environment.

The Time Bomb is now discontinued. If you do come across a Time Bomb, be sure to try it out; it's one of a kind.

Bought one used one back in the day. Although it does not get used very often, the watch comes alive after a few wiggles because it is automatic. Aside from the "x-metal" titanium finish, having the carbon fiber face is a very good complement for this watch. The only problem is that it has a glass face which is very prone to scratching and cracking. That is one of the main reasons I rarely wear this watch.
BriP -
Casing: Titanium
Face: titanium, white

I managed to snag both of these from the same local seller, new in metal vaults! I wear the white face daily and keep the titanium mint in box.

These are amazing. Powered by Seiko's kinetic drive, they last for virtually 15-20years without a hitch, before the capacitor needs replacing. The upgraded capacitor (Maxwell TC920S) is a Lithium titanium oxide cell with a Carbon Electrolyte... And this will last a LOT longer.

Downfalls are the ease of scuffing the Xmetal casing/band.. And the crystal not being sapphire. But it really doesnt bother unless you REALLY abuse your watches.

Styling is awesome. Much cleaner and more fluid than the tb2. These to me are the epitome of Oakley design watches. Get one if you can...

I'm trying to have the entire collection of time bomb
least because gold is very rare and very expensive.

I own cannon red

I buy too polished blue not yet reach
TERRORISM -
Casing: Ion Plated Stainless
Dial: Cannon Yellow

Although the Ion Plated Stainless casing is not as expensive as the X-Metal casing, it doesn't discount the beauty of this watch. The shining "black" hue of the casing looks incredible coupled with the Cannon Yellow dial. Despite the fact that I have not yet had an opportunity to wear this one, I'm sure that it'll scratch easily due to the polished finish.
TERRORISM -
Casing: X-Metal
Dial: White

The dial on this TimeBomb almost appears to be a "silverish" color when viewed under certain light conditions. Although not the most attractive color of the Time Bomb lineup, a solid addition to any Oakley collection.
TERRORISM -
Casing: X-Metal
Dial: Titanium

Another "neutral" color combo for the Time Bomb. The dial has a clean look, and this watch can be worn - like the X-Metal/Carbon Fiber - with virtually anything.
TERRORISM -
Casing: X-Metal
Dial: Cannon Yellow

This color combo closely resembles the X-Metal/Cannon Red version, but with one important distinction: second (or minute, as you may prefer) markers around the circumference of the dial. This greatly enhances the overal visual appeal of the watch, and only two Time Bombs boast this additional aesthetic characteristic.
TERRORISM -
Casing: Polished
Dial: Titanium

This particular color combination seems to be more limited than most, and it is, in my opinion, one of the better. As always, the caveat stands when wearing the polished band: do everything possible to avoid even the slightest scratch on this beautiful timepiece!
TERRORISM -
Casing: Polished
Dial: Blue

Another beautiful timepiece in the Time Bomb set. The shimmering blue hues of the dial are reminiscent of the shimmering emerald hues of its Emerald Time Bomb counterpart. The polished casing also gives this watch a distinguished look. I've had more compliments on this particular Time Bomb than any other (perhaps coincidentally, perhaps due to the overal aura of this piece). The only drawback is that the polished casing is very sensitive, and you must take great caution to avoid even the slightest abrasion to the casing or band.
TERRORISM -
Casing: X-Metal
Dial: Emerald

As most of us are already aware, this watch needs no batteries since it runs off of kinetic energy. Of the set, this is one of my favorites as the emerald shines and shimmers in the light. If you can afford to pick one up, it's well worth the price.

Well, I finally got one and I couldn't be more stoked about it! I am in love with it. I have found that it is very comfortable and eyecatching as well. As far as the O Engine goes I was happy to find that it kept time well over night without moving at all. I am very happy with this watch as I saw it as something I needed in my collection.
OAKLEYZ -
The Time Bomb is one of the coolest watches on the planet.. (I have 13 O-Watches) polished titanium w/carbon fiber dial, was my first o watch and then I added stainless stealth Time Bomb (at the #12 spot) I get the most compliments when wearing these 2 watches... for as big as they look either of them (especially the titanium bomb) are so light, in my opinion. What can I say Oakley is allways on it......

Case/Band: Ion Plated Stainless Steel
Face: Black

Could this be the crown jewel of my Oakley collection? Perhaps yes. Time Bomb embodies much of what I would consider "traditional" Oakley design: bold, unique, stylish, and high-tech. The look and feel of this watch is something that the newer models just can't match in my opinion.

Case/band - The shiny finish is essentially black chrome. It stands out more than the satin Titanium color, but is slightly more understated than Polished due to the darker finish. However, fingerprints, smudges, and water spots show up very easily. I still can't get over how Oakley decided to shape the case the way they did with the long chassis and "fins". It is such a refreshing departure from the usual round or square cases, although it does make it harder for smaller-wristed folks to get the right fit. The Unobtainium patches on the back side do help keep it in place, though. The relatively thick clasp is much friendlier on your skin compared to some of the sharp-edged, stamped clasps on lower-end watches.

Face - No nonsense here. Matte black in color with chrome markings and icon. Dare I say elegant? The red date display can be a bit low-contrast, but the little splash of color adds just the right accent and goes well with the red second hand without being too intrusive.

Make no mistake, this is a heavy watch, especially compared to the titanium version. I also have an Icon, and the weight difference is dramatic. It's a good kind of heavy, though, definitely a solid, well-built feeling. I'd highly recommend getting one of these before they completely sell out, especially at the prices these are going for now. Hopefully Oakley will revisit this kind of design theme in the future.

TI/TI

a very nice watch, super quality but only one downfall; it is sooo heavy.

Frame: Titanium
Face: Cannon Red

Another stunning colour combination for the TB. The cannon red stands out superbly. The dots on the face are set at a different angle to the Cannon yellow version. Titanuim band weighs far less than the SS equivalant. Very hard to come by now and always worth adding to any O collection. My personal favourite of all the TB's
fin7 -
Frame: Ion Plated Black (stainless steel)
Face: Cannon Yellow

This is a stunning version of the TB variations. Very similar to the bullet yellow face, The dots on the face are bigger with the date at th 6 o'clock position. Stunning juxtaposition of the yellow and black. Weighs more than the Ti variants due to the steel band and casing. Aways get comments and is well worth trying to aquire
fin7 -
Frame:Ion Plated Black Stainless Steel
Face: Black (Stealth)

A great colour combination for the TB. Had my original replaced by Oakley UK. The cost of replacing the damaged parts out weighed the cost of replacing the complete watch. Oakley UK still have replacment crystal & links and should for a while yet. Which is good news seeing as the TB is discontinued now.

Just got this watch. I at some point, own or have owned every Oakley watch made, and this is by far the most comfortable O Watch I've put on my wrist. Although it has its negative side (easy fingerprints, scratches easily) it's a true classic. The Cannon Yellow really stands out,and compliments the Black Ion Plating. A must have for any collector, big or small.

This version of the Timebomb is affectionately known as Stealth. It shines on a sunny day and brings great joy to my life. It is simply stunning and everyone that comments on it seems to agree. There is no higher praise I could offer a watch than this one. Get yourself one before they are gone forever.
Rick -
Frame: Ion Plated Black Stainless Steel
Face: Cannon Yellow
Simply amazing Timebomb. The deep reflection of the SS band is just beautiful. Difficult to keep free of smudges, but fantastic nonetheless. The Yellow dial makes this watch stand out against the rest. I would highly recommend this one for someone who wants people to notice and comment on their watch.
Rick -
Frame: Polished
Face: Carbon Fiber
Antoher difficult TB combo to find nowadays, but well worth teh effort if you can track one down. I was slightly disappointed in the polished bracelet treatment. It seems quite thin and plastic-like. I was expecting something with a deeper finish. Compared to other watches in this price range with polished-style bands, I'm afraid the TB disappoints. Apart from this personal observation, it is a great watch oozing style and sophistication. I have experienced a bit of frustration trying to get this particular watch to hold a charge though. I have wound it and wound it but it never seems to hold a charge. I might have to have Oakley take a look at this one. Obviously, this kind of thing is not indicative of this particular color combination so I won't reflect this problem in the ranking, but she does lose one point for a substandard polished finish on the band.
Rick -
Frame: Titanium
Face: Cannon Red
Quite hard to find nowadays, but well worth it if you can get one. Judging by the dwindling numbers of TB's available on eBay compared to this time last year, they are all soon to be obselete. The Red TB stands out quite a bit more than a Ti dial or Carbon Fiber dial and makes a bold statement. I would highly recommend a Cannon Red TB to anyone who is looking to add a TB to their Oakley collection.

Band: Titanium (X-Metal color)
Face: Carbon Fiber

Pro: The most unique and beautiful watch ever conceived.
Con: Only fits large wrists. Makes an audible "zip" when winding.

First off, I'll admit that I don't wear this watch. I can't. I tried taking out every link on the band and it's still way too big. It's obvious that the design is intended for those with much thicker wrists than skinny little Asian guys like me.

For a titanium and carbon fiber watch, it's surprisingly hefty. I have a titanium and carbon fiber TAG Heuer and it's noticeably lighter, but it's also battery operated. My stainless Rolex Submariner (perpetual), on the other hand, is probably about 3 times heavier than the Time Bomb so it's all relative.

More surprising than the weight is the sound of the mechanics inside. As mentioned, you can see inside the back casing as the counter weight rotates on its axis to charge up the internal battery (capacitor?). When it swings, you can hear a faint, but audible 'zip' as it moves. I'm not sure how this would play out if I were able to wear this watch, but I'd imagine that it would eventually drive me batty.

I can't call this a perfect watch. Stylistically, it's the most beautiful watch I've set my eyes on. Technologically, it's equally as innovative as it is beautiful. The watch obviously wasn't intended for someone of my stature so no deductions there. But the 'zippy zipping' is a little annoying.

Despite never being able to wear this watch, I still can't bring myself to part with it. Eventually, it'll end up in some kind of display cabinet as this design will go down in history as a museum piece a la Movado.

This is a classy looking watch. It looks unique and is not too flashy. I have yet to see someone besides myself wearing one. Many people often ask what kind of watch it is. The only problem with this watch as mentioned before is the mineral crystal. The titanium bracelet makes this watch very light.

The coolest part of this timebomb is the back of the face were a small glass window shows the inner parts and engineering of the watch.

Color: Cannon Red

Well the TIMEBOMB is just one of those things I just had to have in life. Being the Original Oakley watch, it just screams classic Oakley style. I find the weight very balanced and the size comfortable. I can't really fault it in any way. The color is a personal choice and many have been offered.
Since they are now out of production there are very few left and seem to be going for reasonable prices on ebay well below original retail. Get one while you can.
Colton -
Color: Black Stainless Steel (Stealth)
This is an Oakley masterpiece. Great looks and the 'O Engine' technology. I actually sent back my Blade for a refund to purchase this one. The only negative comments are the frame and band color are more of a dull silver as opposed to a flat black image Oakley graphics display, and the date is hard to view in red. Still overall I'm impressed, and so is everyone else that admires it.
FREEMIX -
The reason the timebomb does not have a sapphire crystal face is because when they designed the watch they wanted it all to flow and because sapphire is so hard they were unable to form it in the shape that they desired. This is why they use a scratch resistant mineral glass. The mineral glass is easier to work with to achieve such curves.

Color: Black Stainless Steel (Stealth)

I love this watch. I always wanted a Seiko kinetic watch but never could afford it when I was in H.S.. So when I found out about this watch from Oakley I had to get it. I love the new battery concept. Not only the function but the look of it is sweet too. The black stainless steel looks real sleek. Unlike others, I think you can get away with wearing this at formal occasions.
DarkJuliet -
Color: Stealth Stainless Steel

I guess I can't really give a detailed review on this watch as I got mine for dirt cheap and I guess it's okay. One has to understand that I'm a true mechanical watch fan and kinetic quartz watches are kind of "meh" for me usually.

However, it is nice to have a pretty solid watch to wear around for general use. My HUGE beef against it is the fact that a 1300 dollar watch does not have a sapphire crystal face---the price more than justifies the upgrade. What gives?

Occasionally the staying pins like to move in and out. Something one will have to get used to. That as well as the main lug pins will widen if not attended to monthly.

Frame:Ion Plated Black Stainless Steel
Face: Black (Stealth)

i already have the Titanium/White Time Bomb but i couldn't resist buying this Stealth Black when i had the opportunity. if the Ti-White was about class and sophistication, the Stealth Black is at the opposite of the spectrum... totally bad*ss! it looks brilliant in polished black Stainless Steel finish, and the red accents on the second hand and the date readout takes it to the next level. of course, it contains all the same Time Bomb goodness like Oakley's classic fluid styling and the "O-Engine" eliminating any need for batteries. however, because the Stealth Black is made in Stainless Steel as opposed to Titanium, it is heavier but i like the weight on my wrist. another crowning jewel to my Oakley collection!

Worth $1500? No. Worth around $500? Definitely a bargain in that respect. If you can find one reasonably priced on closeout and have a little extra cash, jump on it. You won't be sorry. Very beautiful watch, but seemingly impossible to photograph. These watches ALWAYS look better in person. Only complaint is the stealth can't be polished, so, it will retain scratches.

Beautiful to look at, but not practical to wear.
A very fine piece of craftsmanship that really adds to ones collection. Mine will never leave its metal vault-if I wore it every day, I would destroy it, but to put it simply-you have to own one to appreciate its design.

When I first saw that this colorway was being offered I battled with myself on whether to get one or not. The reason was because I just loved it, but since I already had one I wasn't sure if I should get another before getting say a Judge or Detonantor. But this version of the Time Bomb is very classy and it really says "stealth" because of the fluid-styling and the colorway. All and all this watch makes a very futuristic statement and is truly a work of art. The battle is over and I've been beaten and victorious all at the same time.

Got a great deal on a titanium/white face Timebomb on Ebay. Came with the metal vault. This watch is what Oakley needs to look at some 7 years later, as to what the standard of the company should be.Form and function combined, not just fashion.(riddle, etc.) Bong was exactly correct, the white face is iridescent and very cool.

If you can afford one and are into Oakley, the Timebomb is a must have!

Ti w/ Carbon Fiber
This is by far my biggest purchace of Oakley. It gets noticed all the time. One gentleman asked me if the watch comes with the glasses, I told him that the glasses should come with the watch. I only wear on special occasions or if out with my friends for a night on the town. I have owned it for over 4 years and it still runs perfect. The band scuffs easily, but can also be easily replaced.
dmboz -
i love everything about my timebomb except the fact that that the band seems to form a small gap where it connects to the face almost as if the pins are bent... otherwise... can't beat it

I love my timebomb! I own a blade, crush, detonator, gmt, and a white timebomb as well but i just got a new emerald green timebomb that also happens to be polished... that makes it 1 of 2 ever made!! I hope to eventually sell off my other watches and get a collection of all timebombs.. the ones id like to have are red, blue, stealth black, and carbon fiber... that would be so sweet. Anyways its a great watch especially if you can get it cheap off of ebay, but watch out they might be trying to rip you off by selling an employee edition (one that comes in a plastic box, not metal vault, and it doesnt have the oakley O on the buckle of the watch). The employees at oakley can get these employee edition watches fro $150 at christmas and turn around and sell them on ebay for $500 so watch out.

I love this watch it looks great I have worn it every day for about 6 months straight and only have minor scuffs on the band from slappping it on the desk. I have heard people say that the crystal is prone to scratches because it is not sapphire but so far i have had no scratches and i have slammed the crystal a couple of times against things

Awesome watch, could not resist the $399 price tag.
The GMT has always been the daily work wear, And I love the GMT.
Never thought I would want to wear another watch. but this is just a fabulous timepiece, requires the wearer to take more care due to scuffing and scratching the crystal. (Very difficult after wearing the GMT)
Concerns about the charging noise were quickly dismissed.
Keeps running beyond 4 days without wear.
Never seen anyone else wearing one.

What can I say, this watch is beautiful. Got it for a good price on eBay. When I first got it I was a little nervous because it didn't seem like it was working right, but all it needed was a charge. My only complaint is that the crystal scratches easily, but I sent it back for a replacement and they polished it for free, so sending it back isn't all bad. It gets a lot of compliments and I really like the self charging and the fact that you hardly ever see someone else wearing it.

This is it. This is the one thing I think pretty much all of us aspire to own. I'll never forget when I was still at SGH and the Oakley rep at the time (Larry Larson, who was a great guy) came in to check on his Scheel's account and he had this on. Seeing it up close and personal is the only way to do it justice. This is how Oakley takes something as traditional as a wristwatch and shatters the way you think about them. If you don't like this watch, I reserve the right to call into question not only your masculinity, but also your ancestory.

No...Words...Should have sent a poet....

The price of the Time Bombs has been dropping dramatically on Ebay as of late and I just couldn't resist picking this one up. It is difficult to stop staring at it. To me, this is the top of line Oakley watch. The noise caused by the internal winding mechanism caused me concern at first. It seemed a bit loud, but that's just the way they sound. I would highly recommend you buy one now while the price is right!

I absolutely love my Time Bomb. It's my crowning jewel in my Oakley collection. It's very classy looking but unmistakably Oakley... they styling is unique and not everyone will have anything like it. The white face is absolutely beautiful... it's not a flat white finish but is irridescent, especially in the sunlight, and the chrome bezel ring and ticks add a brilliant touch. the O Engine window on the back is also very cool. the only thing i can think of that i would add is a sweeping second hand. other than that, it's my ultimate Oakley possession.

The Time Bomb is pretty much the only Oakley item I have received continuous praise or admiration from G.Q. Public. This Oakley's watch is a good watch but there's a few flaws which caused it to lose 2 points.
1. Price tag is pretty steep for a watch with just auto-recharge funtion. I currently own a Seiko watch and it offers the chronograph function, self recharging battery(with a battery that can hold a 6 month charge), titanium body and sapphire crystal face, all for a little less than the price of time bomb.
2. The watch's face seems to get scratched much easier than the sapphire crystal faces.
And don't bash Rolex, they arn't expensive because they throw in diamonds(even the sports Rolex watches cost more than $8,000, and they have no diamonds at all) and in no way is the Time Bomb near Rolex territory. It is however near Omega territory.

A must have. No battery required so it's worth it. A charge will hold for more than a week before the internal generator needs movement again to recharge the capacitor. I got 2 and still planning on a 3rd one if there's a good deal. Most definitely the Red. Scratches easy on the glass. Definitely gets all the complements no doubt

Yep, it's gonna be hard to beat this, I bought the Cannon Red one, after debating whether or not to spend £1200 on a watch. But, as you can see by my inventory, I got bitten by the bug. This was a while before eBay came along too, and when the exchange rate was a lot lower!! I've always had positive comments about it, and they first came out in 98 with the Kevlar O Shoe, so this goes to show how well the design has (or hasn't) aged.

I'd like to see a reinvented Time bomb, with automatic date skipping (for shorter months) and automatic time sync (to return to the correct time after stopping when not in use for a few days) I'm sure Oakley can do it if Seiko et al can do it.

And a Carbon bracelet would be sweet!

This is the crowning Jewel of the Oakley product line. At a grand and a half, this pushes briefly into Rolex territory, except Rolex watches are expensive because they throw diamonds on them, Oakley instead decided to invest the money in technology. First off, this watch requires no battery; everything is driven off their 'O Engine'. This is an arc found within the watch (which you can view through a glass window) that is weighted on one side, so as you move your wrist during day to day activity, the weight ends up rotating around an axis, which charges the battery stored within. When I first got the watch, I had to swing it back and forth for a short while to get an initial charge. I had a few problems with the watch dying on me if I left it alone for a while, but that has since never been a problem now that the charge level is maxed. The entire casing is made of Titanium, so nothing's going to damage this watch in the near future. The crystal over the face seems to hold up pretty well too. After all the abuse it goes through, there's only a few minor scratches if you look hard enough, nothing that impedes the viewing of the time. The Titanium frame tends to get a little scuffed up though. I get a lot of compliments on this watch. more so than any of the glasses. All the old-timers that see this think it's self-winding, but it's really just self-recharging. I'd recommend this watch if you can get past the price tag.
