Discovered Oakley around the Mid 90's. I love their design vocabulary and unnecessary materials they use for their products. I am more of a passive collector now, not really buying much anymore. I primarily collect display items from the steel and rivets era of Oakley.

I'm just happy NECA is finally going to finish the TF2 collection. I have been waiting on the last 3 for years now.

That is fantastic! I couldn't imagine a better collection for those to be in. Congrats! - Oak

Pretty much. Brennan is the pinnacle of oakley collections imho.

Received the last piece to the Marvel Legends line, the Iron Man helmet. No one would escape looking goofy wearing it but it does have some cool features like a removeable faceplate, electronic sounds when you re-attach the faceplate, and light up eyes you can still see out of when it's lit up:

Damn Oak, you're the man. So who is your all time favorite character and are you more of a DC or marvel guy?

I thought so too. I would expect them to go for much higher but there is also a markup percentage on the item even after you win it. Just nickel and diming everything.

Phil Tippett, a big time props and fx guy for many big movies is auctioning off tons of stuff including the original robocop costume.

This guy does some really cool stuff, but a lot of it are one offs or a run of 20ish. It's hard to get one of the uber items.

Out of every category of item I have collected, displays, glasses, the grips were the most fun to track down. That feeling of "complete" was great. I never had the same love for any particular model of glasses to want to go out and get one of each.

I was a little behind you. I think you had them all before I started. You did inspire me though because I wanted to encompass the history of Oakley in my collection and was after all of the iconic pieces. I realized I didn't even have any grips and at the time you were the only person I saw that had them and were quite proud of them. I wouldn't say that I paid up for them which I am happy about because most things I have I definitely paid up for but the grips were a fun search to get at least one of every model. During the hunt I found that I was pretty much competing with the BMXers and the cost would greatly vary. I found some for 15 and would see the same pair for 90, then again for 30. The fluxuation was interesting to see. After the 2010 retro it pretty much changed into the scalper market on grips.

I loved this. So glad I got one of every type years ago. A little hard to track down now.

I believe actual collectors make up like 1% of their revenue anyway. We end up exchanging more money between each other than retail.

where are these fakes coming from? I have never even seen fake xmetals that were not plastic.

I anticipate you getting both before too long. I can't see you resisting their beauty! ;-)

Man I'm at the point now that I have a sickness because I don't even know if I would even wear them. I am not sure about spending 400ish for more ornaments in my house. I was "reviewing" heh, my collection to day just shaking my head on how much I have that I don't even touch. Granted I made my choice but now I am wary about adding anything without some serious thought.

That dual iridium ev zero is really catching my eye. I'm on the fence. I just hope they incorporate that into other releases. So many possibilities. They remind me of those old M-Frame RX implants.

60$ isn't bad but I hope someone hacks it and allows for an sd card or something to put more games on. I just emulate on a rasberrypi. That mini NES would be cool just for a raspberry pi case.

I hope they do this with the SNES. That was my favorite system so much so that I took an snes controller and made a usb mod for it. Those games are still great.

Retail was $500 I believe though. There's no getting out of that one cheap. - Dann

I didn't realize they were that much. Not a bad deal then.

What is the quality on these boxes does anyone know? I have been hesitant to get one because I just have a hard time believing that it is on par with an equivalent model from pelican.
