Frame: Black
Lens: Ruby (Blade II) + Ruby (Plain)

A truly awesome color combo, with the matte black finish not as flaky as the X-Metal finish on the Romeo 1.0s, Pennys and Juliets. I'm neither a big fan of the Blade films nor Wesley Snipes, but I like the fonts on the BLADE II laser-etch. And the rarity too, of course, doubles the joy. Makes the one without the etching appear, well, plain.

These things are ridiculous! But I like 'em for that fact. Definitely a collector's item but not practical for genuine use outdoors. There's no practical way to store or transport these. I normally keep my hair cropped short so they don't "float" over my head too much but if I get lazy and let my hair grow out a little bit, they hold kinda funny. At least on me, the two pads above the lenses rest on my brow and if I make any kind of facial expression other than stone-cold stoic, they get crooked. This is a great example of Oakley's radical design thinking and why we love them so much.

The name says it all. They are definately a bizzare pair of sunglasses. However, if you have the right head for them then you'll be pleased. They fit a little snug on me, so I can't wear them for more than a couple hours at a time without my head begining to feel a little compressed.
Still, it's a pair that can really get you a lot of attention, and the looks from people as they pass you by are just priceless.

When these came out I immediately had to have them. By far the most comfortable pair of glasses I own, with a near perfect fit to my head. The biggest downside is the large blindspot in your peripheral vision. The only other problem I have with them is that since mine are Gen1 the forehead padding that came with them sucks. The Gen2 padding was built in as opposed to stick on, and after several years the stick on is starting to peel off. Aside from that, I love the shock effect these have.

I saw the overthetops on the Oakley website, and despite being incredibly ridiculous, I still had to have them. They only had Silver frames for a while, but when Blade II came out, they made a Black/Ruby model. I got that for Christmas and wear them out on certain occasions. They will definitely get you some notice, so be warned. But if that's your intention, then so be it. The frames below the lenses, tend to give you 'bags' under your eyes if you wear them too long, so I find it's best to wear a hat under them. It does look cool under a hat though, or if you pull your hair through the top and just let the glasses pop out of your head. They also will not fall off no matter what you do.

The frame looks awesome in my case but terrible on my face! Plus they fog so bad its crazy. If you want to stand out, and get alot of crazy comments then this is the pair for you. Just be careful what you ask for. $180 for the MSRP is not bad, but UPSERD prices on ebay and them not being produced any more "$388" buy it now is a little to high for my taste.

Frame: Have 12 pairs.
Lens: all except the Blade.
The first pair I purchased where used and had been worn for quite some time by an individual with a large noggin like myself. This pair fit me like a glove yet the 'others' that have been purchased seem to be rather tight and touch my cheeks as I've heard others say. A thick beanie or knit hat seems to help keep some distance away from the fack and eye lashes, but I have had some difficulties with fogging as well. Maybe some Oakley anti-fog would take care of that. Have to give these all 5 due to the design. I think Jumpman73 is on to something here, could you imagine these with Oil Rig designed lens??? Totally Boss

I would have bought these things if they fit my skull. I'm kicking myself now that I can't find a GD pair for my glass case >_<.

I was under the impression that the Emerald Lens version was a Sunglass Hut exclusive, since it came out at the same time as the rest of the SGH Emerald Iridium exclusives. Anyway, these do not fit my head. I have an earlier, non-padded version. I have a prominent brow, so they tend to ride my eyebrows. They also seem to shift around a lot. They're cool to have in the collection, and they offer bragging rights, but I can't see these as having any real functionality...

I feel like I'm one important step closer to being an absolute Oakley fanatic after getting ahold of my first OTTs. I got them for a steal $125 BNIB from some guy in Georgia. In a somewhat spontaneous act of absurdity I even shaved my head into a mohawk just to wear them once and take pictures, I'll make sure to up load a pic to the gallery. They definitely fit better than I previously thought, although being bald and having and average or larger sized head helps. The lenses are an interesting topic alone. The sperhical design is fine for optics as well as coverage however some light enters through the peripherals and will vary on head shape/size. I own nearly every lense and for those who have yet to try emerald it's quite nice. The somewhat deep gray shade is very comfortable to look through even in bright light conditions which may be attributed to the reflective iridium coating. My only major criticism is the frame color FMJ+ always looks sort of fake to me and I will be looking forward to getting a matte black pair eventually. For anyone looking to aquire this truly over the top Oakley product its worth the search and the price tag.

Just bought these from a small Oakley dealer in London. They had been on the shelf for 8 years!! Never thought I'd get a pair. They fit me really well and the colour combo is awesome. I'm going to take them out tomorrow on a bike ride around the city. Looking forward to lots of strange looks from passers by!!! A true gem of my Oakley collection.

Just got a pair of these two days ago. Paid a fair bit to get my hands on these, since they're out of commision, and as soon as I saw the ice colour up for sale, I bought them.

I'm not a sunglasses guy, never worn them, but these ones fit my personality perfectly: incredibly deranged and unnecessary. They fit perfecly on me, and are surprisingly comfortable. The frame is quite lenient and also fit niceley on a few other people I showed them to, and if you don't have a peanut-shaped head, they'll look good on anyone. From inside, you can see everything but the glare from the sunlight and your blind spot, so it's okay to drive in, but you gotta look way over your shoulder if you want to change lanes safely.

I just scored a pair of these from a local collector and they are amazing. I love the way they contour the head and are so unique. My coworkers got in a good laugh but they are beyond amazing.

I had to drive to Sydney International Airport to get these back ordered from the states a few years back, but "WOW!!"
they look insane!
and better yet, when they made them (insane as they are) they were sure not to dub down the practicle use of them, i have often worn these to hockey games, ruby irdium is the best lens ive used for combatting the sun/glare
doesnt matter what happens these suckers dont come off =]

i really would love to get an FMJ+ pair, just for a display!

Amazing piece of wearable art. I just got a pair, 5 years after they were discontinued. Definitely a collectors piece and a great example of Oakley's commitment to pushing the envelope. The glasses fit over the head well, but the lenses don't fit exactly right for me. Being asian and having a flatter nose and high cheek bones, the fit is just not exact. No worries though. This is definitely a collectors piece and not a daily wear piece. Get one if you can!
TERRORISM -

I've got to give credit where credit is due: Overthetop is the culmination of Mad Science and rougue engineering that only Oakley could design. Utilizing a never-before-seen frame which wraps around the top of the head, Overthetop is aptly named and unique in its own right. The frame is encased in a "full metal jacket" (FMJ) for added strength, and the Black Iridium provides excellent protection for bright conditions. Surprisingly enough, the glasses are very comfortable due to a set of soft pads placed on the inside of the frame. Unfortunately, this is probably the last we'll ever see of anything this unique now that "The evil L" has taken over. I'm only giving this four stars because the lens shape seems very uninspired as a "circle". Overall, however, this is quite possibly the most unique pair of glasses ever developed by any company.
TERRORISM -
Frame: FMJ+

Once again, Overthetop could be construed as the most innovative design ever conceived by any eyewear company. This particular rendition features "Emerald Iridium", which provides excellent contrast and is versitle enough to wear both in medium and bright light conditions.

I've actually got two pairs of these!
They do rock but you can only wear them when doing something active (they look rather 'naff' if just walking along the street shopping).
You also have to be bald / very short hair as mentioned before.
Last thing - be careful when wearing these in the sun as i used them skiing and ended up with two horns on my forehead (a result of pale patches against the surrounding suntan!).
Enjoy these rarities!

Picked these up for a sweet price on ebay and boy am I glad I did. They are in mint condition and came with the elastic microbag, but no box :-( Oh well, hopefully I'll pick up a box when I get the Matte Black/Ruby pair. Well, first thing I noticed when I got these is how small they seemed. I expected them to be a lot bigger, especially the lenses. Just from all the pictures I'd seen of them, I expected them to be huge. Not so. I really need to get my hair cut short or shave my head to really enjoy these as they seem to move around a bit with my longish hair. The fit is excellent for my head and the browpads seem to anchor them pretty well to my noggin. The lenses provide good coverage with little to no light coming in from the sides. I can't wait to wear these in the summer and really freak some people out! I'll let you know how that goes.

What can be said that hasn't already. The orbitals actually struck me smaller than I would have thought seeing them on members here and in photos, but as with any and all circular O styles the illusion is just that. Mars, Moons, when worn they just make my eyes look so close and smaller than a wrapped frame that sweeps around the face. Not enough to not enjoy these however. They do do fit well from base of the skull to my brow (medium head) and there is actually little to no pressure on my nose or cheeks as it rest on my brow pretty well. Maybe that will change if I wear them for an extended time. For anyone who wants a pair and is in doubt, I say just go for it and enjoy having them in your collection.

Wow. Amazing glasses, besides the surprisingly comfortable fit these glasses always manage to bring in stares, pointing fingers, and questions. Absolutely screams Oakley. I love wearing them around although lately they've been more of a collection piece.

It's pretty obvious what Oakley was doing when they made these bad boys. Personally, I find them horrid, but what's to say I don't all of a sudden get sucked into the madness that is the OTT? I remember the USA Track Team at Sydney rocking these on the podium. Or, am I imagining things? Anyway, anyone picking these up is doing so because they like the idea of being different and it's obvious that was the impetus behind the design so that gives it full marks in my eyes. I do think they look and feel a little cheap though.

this is a little too progressive for most but I like it, the only aspect I dont like is the way they creak when you place themover your head, light blockage is excellent and it only takes a very short while to get used to wearing them.

I love these, i was trying to get the Blade II sigs but ill keep trying, in the mean time i love the reactions i get when i wear them. no car wrecks caused yet thank God... but a punker all leather and spiked out was staring so hard he walked into a table it was great. didnt help that i had on my brown hoodie on with the hood up so all you saw was two large red "eyes" staring out, lol

I broke down and picked this up. I tried it on again and it felt awesome. The fit is awesome and the looks is sweet. The eye coverage is ok. I wouldn't want to drive with these b/c there is some blockage. Other than that, must have for a collector.

Very unique design and nice, big lenses but the fit could be better. And, like allready said, they fog up very easy. But hey, it's a collector piece 8).

EDIT: I forgot to say that they are very comfortable, the "over the top" idea should have taken over some more, but the hairstyling may be the main problem that you don't see people rocking overthetops on the street.

I love these! Such a non-conformist design. Fit is actually comfortable. They look very odd with longer hair but can be worn under a hat or over a beanie. It's fun to see the reactions from people who haven't seen these before. A must have in the collection

These only look really good if you don't have any hair, or you wear a beanie underneath.

After a while your foreheard/eye brows will start to feel pressure and get red marks.

But who cares? These are completely unreal! They're great for event occasions, like going to sporting games or parties.

Grab one before they're all gone!

I wear one of these in Halloween and indeed it fogged up the lens easy because of the way its constructed. I will give it a 5 because I signature OTTs is really over the top. very well made compared to my FMJ silver

The day I bought these was the day I knew I had a BIG problem. Because they are uncomfortable, theyre totally rediculous but they are SO SICK!!!!! Even if its just for collection/display purposes you have to get a pair. No collection is complete without one.

If only they made these in a non circular lens shape. Totally awesome concept. They would be great for hanging out in the snow. You could put your beanie right over them. I'm not a big fan of the circular lens like the Mars but if Oakley had put these out in a juliet/xx shape lens I would've cop these for sure.

My first visit to HQ is when I bought these, before they were released. Probably my most exciting purchace of Oakley. So many compliments I can't list them all. They are the 1st Gen. so no forehead pads, but no big deal. Everyone wanted a picture of me with them on. So I'm in about 30 peoples family photo albums with some guy they meet on the beach.

The may not be the most practical pair of sunglasses on the planet. But they are one of the most unique. Based on that alone they are another must have.

I bought these knowing I would most likely never wear them, and at the same time knowing that only a true fan would buy them. One of the most recognizably Oakley pair of Oakleys made. I first saw them in an Oakley catalog a long time ago, and remember thinking "I would never buy those" but boy was I wrong. The thing that made me decide to buy them initialy was seeing them being worn in the Olympics by an American Vollyball player. They dont look to good on me but I have to say, they look really nice on my shelf with all of its fellow Oakley compainions.

Rare as all hell. According to Chris at Customer Service, the Blade 2 Signature Series of glasses (well, the left lens of the OTT anyway) contain one of if not the rarest lens that Oakley has ever produced and offered to the public. According to another rep, there were only 500-600 of the OTTs produced which makes something like the Fluoro Monster Dogs and 0.3 seem abundant.

Great shades. I love them almost as much as the medusa.
PROS: attention grabbers, superb optics, doomy style.
CONS: Look funny with long hair, shift slightly when I make facial expressions, will leave a red mark on your face, non-colapsable, watch where you put them down!
oogie -
Frame: Silver & Black

Simply for the radical design, these are some awesome shades to own. Pretty comfortable, but the pad marks on your forhead are to be expected after wearing it any length of time. Totally different, they attract attention. Even when carrying them around, I get plenty "What is that?".
Now if they can just create a cool ballistic case, I'll be a happy overthetop camper!

My brother has these and I think their only use is to look good in a collection.
They are very uncomfortable and look really really wierd.
they look ok if you have a shaved head but any more hair than that and you look just plain silly.
One day I think im gonna get the black/Ruby ones but just for the collection and maybe halloween LOL.

Crazy glasses, bought these on impulse and haven't really worn them too often. They're very comfortable and I don't have the problem with them marking under my eyes but I do get marks on my forehead from the pads if I wear them for hours at a time. I get a very mixed response from people when I wear them. It's a love them/hate them thing it would seem.
bong -
Frame: Black

i had the overthetop for a time and yeah, i did get bags under my eyes as well. the pads (which were made of soft, spongy material instead of real rubber unobtanium) weren't thick enough for the frames to "float" away from my face, the bottom of the frames would actually sit on my cheeks, creating the bags under my eyes. it got especially annoying when it got hot and the bottom of the lenses would fog up. i guess you'd have to have the perfect head shape for these to work, but they are definitely great attention getters. too bad they didn't fit me at all, but i'm giving them two stars for the outrageous design alone.
