Frame: Rootbeer/White Chrome/Matte Black
Lens: Gold/Ice/Grey

Few more to add to the collection. It's finally complete.

Rootbeer/Gold:
I've eyed this since the beginning, but never got it. Luckily I was able to grab it cheap, but honestly still would have grabbed it at full price. The Gold is nice as always but the Rootbeer and Platinum frame work very nicely together.

JPM White Chrome/Ice
I was afraid this would be the same as the FMJ/Ice, but the chrome is very nice. It shines like mother of pearl and stands out from the rest.

Matte Black/Grey
The cheapest of the 8, but still nice. The grey lens isn't flashy but works with the other black elements to create a subdued pair.

Frame: Black Gunmetal - Polished Black
Lens: Emerald Iridium

One of the best looking Oakley models; the two-toned look, the "frowning eyebrows" at the upper orbitals, the sculpted earstems, even down to the pattern carved into the Unobtanium make these beautifully eye-catching without being as flamboyant as, say, the Plates.

Unfortunately for me, I found these to sit too close to my face with the frame resting more on my cheeks than my nose. Also, similar to the Hatchets, they looked too narrow on me, enough that even if the Asian Fit version fit better, they still wouldn't look quite right. Too bad.

Frame: FMJ Crystal Blue
Lens: Ice
These were my first pair of Oakley's. They came out shortly after the Scars, and the FMJ/Ice combo was definitely the way to go. The Ice lens works perfectly for most outdoor lighting during the day, but not so good during the evening or indoors. The design is awesome, and the translucent plastic lets you see the anchor shaped joints that hold the frame together. It's light-weight and oh-so-cool.

Frame: FMJ+ Crystal Black
Lens: Ice
My first pair of Oakleys. Was looking for something aggresive/modern looking while being sleek and not overly loud at the same time. The Splices gave me the look that I wanted with the translucent black plastic on the frame and the FMJ+ eyebrows. Definitely an attention grabber due to its unique styling. The larger than usual frame size fit my face perfectly and comfortably. Coverage is very good even on the peripheries, ensuring that no light comes in from the sides of the frame.
The Ice lenses work very well on bright daylight, perfect for the sunny weather that I have over here, however, it does get a little too dark during the late evenings. Glare reduction is very good, makes a bright sunny day appear cool and comfortable. Too bad they are no more in production now.

Frame: Polished Black
Lens: 24K
The Splice are a very nice style if you want to get noticed, and they are very comfortable too. I ended up buying the Matt Kenseth Splices, and I’ve got to say,I love the way they look, very sharp from the outside, and nice and comfy for a range of different head shapes and styles.
As usual, the optics are superb as well.

Frame: Polished Black / Matte Black
Lens: H.I. Persimmon

These are awesome. Light fit, agressive look, and cool two-tone frame. I couldn't ask for more. Kind of wish they were a little bigger like the monster dogs, but I'll let it slide, because these are great. Dirty Shame they've been discontinued.

The Japanese Exclusive H.I. Persimmon lens is absolutely stunning. Hands down my new favorite lens. It's like it makes things BRIGHTER, if at all possible. Perfect for night time, and darker days.

Buy a pair if ever you get the chance.

Frame: Crystal blue
Lens: Ice

This was my 4th pair of Oakleys I have owned and so far one of my favorite. They dont fit my face to tightly and are very comfortable to wear. I like the slightly larger lens size compared to my Oakley Valves. I dont usually go for brighter color schemes or lens, but I think this combo was just amazing looking. I have had many compliments and people wanting to see them. I think these glasses are for more along the lines of a meduim face. If you were considering buying a pair on a website or ebay, I would definatly go to a store and try a pair on to make sure they fit good. Overall Splices are one of my favorite pair of oakleys to date.

Frame: Black/Gunmetal
Lens: Emerald

I never looked a this style as one I would want to own but after a conversation with another member it led me to give them a try. Needless to say I was very surprised by the fit. The lenses were not as big (top to bottom) as the Monster Dogs but still cover enough of my range. I felt the shape of the lens was similar in shape to that of the Dog which I really liked. The fit was very comfortable for long term wear and the color combo is very nice. John, I may consider this for myself now too.

Frame: Gunmetal/polished black

The splice was my very first pair of oakley, and it was the one which started the addiction. My perception of oakley at the time were the minutes and the straight jackets which had a rather gentle aesthetic, with smooth lines and generally subdued, kind and harmless appearance. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw the wild, crazy, unbridled animal that the splice was and still is.Egdes everywhere,o-matter exceeding in every part of the frame, almost hexagonal orbitals, frame consisting of two pieces, bolts, even earsocks with the oakley icon, and the splice lettering carved on them!!!!You can't pass by such a pair of sunglasses easily. In fact you can't pass it by at all.On their attributes now, they fit nice and tight, although not as tight as the straight jackets, but because of the unobtainium on the nose pieces, they are still secure on your head.somehow they surround the head, rather than gripping on the head,up to the point that you can't tell if you're wearing them or not.The lenses are big and wide, they were certainly made for bigger heads, and the entire outcome,is very light, whereas one might expected it to be heavier due to the extra stuff they have on them,(bolts etc).I've got only one thing to say. What a glorious way to start an oakley collection!!!!

Frame: FMJ Black Chrome, Crystal Black/Matte Black
Lens: Black Iridium, Grey
I loved the splice. This was my 4th purchase and was extremely happy with the crystal black/matte black version. Its a shame I lost them at work and never picked up a replacement. Years later I got my hands on the FMJ black chrome. But the fit isn't as I remember it. A little too small for me now, either im used to the larger frames or I've gotten a fatter face. Still a great model to look at I hope to get the crystal black again for nostalgic reasons.
BriP -
Frame: FMJ+/ Crystal Blue
Lens: Ice Iridium

truly one of Oakleys best creations. The Splice combines so many of Oakley's trademark technologies, in a cool, aggressive frame that was designed very cleverly.

There is the use of torx screws, mimicking that of the Juliet and Romeo of the X-metal line.
in addition, although not the most successful, FMJ tecnnology showing off what Oakley can do to bond metallics to plastic.
True metal icons accentuate the frame, an instantly identifiable mark.
The 3D moulded contours of both the FMJ coated upper orbital as well as the Crystal lower orbitals are a work of art.
Injection moulded unobtainium show off the endless possibilities with a ribbing pattern.
Plus, when you wear it, the FMJ parts are furthest away from any skin contact, preventing that unfortunately common FMJ peeling issue. All the contact spots (nosebridge to nose, lower orbitals to cheeks) are all in the durable crystal or polished O-matter! This resulted in the Unique Spliced look, whilst protecting the attractive FMJ finish.

the Splice is truly a piece of O-history.
TERRORISM -
Frame: Matte Black/Polished Black
Lens: H.I. Persimmon

Lightweight, durable, and adequate coverage are three key features of the Splice lineup. The design of the glasses is perhaps one of the most unique of all Oakleys as well, with most Splice models being comprised of both o-matter and FMJ. While this particular rendition features the rare H.I. Persimmon lens, it lacks the FMJ feature that most of its counterparts boast. Gunmetal or Black Chrome would have greatly enhanced this pair...
TERRORISM -
Frame: Dark Chrome/Polished Black
Lens: 24K Gold

The Matt Kenseth Splice are no doubt some of the rarest Oakleys ever produced. As with the other members of the Splice lineup, they provide excellent coverage - especially for the periphery due to their excellent wraparound design. The 24K lens and laser-etched signature really make this pair stand out and look great against the black frame. After finally having the opportunity to view them in person, however, it is a bit disappointing that the frames - being comprised of a hybrid of "Dark Chrome" and "Polished Black" - actually appear to have very little, if any, differentiation. This almost defeats the purpose of having a dual-material/dual-colored frame. Overall, however, they are still a beatiful pair of glasses, offer excellent coverage, and their exclusiveness greatly adds to their collectability.
TERRORISM -
Frame: White Chrome/Crystal Black
Lens: Ice

As the name suggests, the Splice are constructed of part o-matter, part FMJ. The lenses provide adequate coverage, and the lightweight o-matter/FMJ fames are very comfortable. The style is very unique, not only due to the dual-material frame construction, but also the "angular" aesthetics. This particular combo is finished with JPM's signature laser-etched in the bottom corner of the left lens. My only recommendation for this piece would have been to use "blue" iridium vs "ice" iridium for further differentiation, since the FMJ+/Crystal Black look very similar.

Frame: FMJ/BLACK/CRYSTAL BLUE
Lens: ICE
JUST AWESOME!!
These are the O-MATTER version of the JULIET. They have a very aggressive look. Extremely light. This colour combo is sweet. Just remove the screws and pop out the lens and replace. Pretty easy to do a custom job with these. These are among the best that OAKLEY has put out there. Only negative is that they are a bit small if you have a medium to large head.

Frame: Platinum Rootbeer

Best omatter pair ever! its like an x-metal frame that is made out of omatter.Like the screws that hold the frame (are they titanium screws?? pm pls) I like the agressive look and the way they fit.my first pair of O's
Rating for me 5 out of 5

Frame: Gunmetal/polished Black

The 2nd pair of oakley I got. Very nice and good to wear. They are very small, possible to look out of the lenses, not made for cycling ;-) But this combo is awesome and the contrast of Gunmetal to pol.Black, great too

Frame:FMJ 5.56 - Polished Black

love the fit on these also i have a large head and they are awesome. i want to pick up a few more colors

Frame: FMJ Crystal Blue
Lens: Ice Iridium

The second pair I bought, on a trip to Las Vegas. Not for the faint-hearted - very aggressive styling, but still look good on quite a few people. Certainly good at getting you noticed. Nice quality build, and comfortable to wear - suprisingly light.

Frame: Black Chrome

Awesome design. Very Oakley. Eye coverage is excellent and pretty light weight. I really like these b/c they are very comfortable.

Frame: FMJ+ - Crystal Blue
Lens: Ice Iridium

Good: Its unique, light & it looks awesome!! =) This is my very 1st Oakley pair & also my 2nd EXACT same pair after I lost the 1st one just few weeks after I bought it! :( The color combo is very very nice and IMO the best combo among all other Splices & has gotta be 1 of the best Oakley designs!

Bad: Do NOT drop your pair as the paint (silver) tends to peel off quite easily especially when u drop it on hard (rocky) surfaces, like mine :(
RubyMars -
Frame: FMJ+/Crystal Black
Lens: Ice

Some of my favorite glasses. I like the aggressive styling with FMJ on crystal. Of course the Ice lense adds to the standout nature of the shades. A perfect compliment to my shaved head. An all around great fit. Good peripheral view. Great fit for a medium face, provieds good all around coverage. Used as my main workout pair before I got my RJ's because of the large Unobtainium surfaces.

Frame: Jet Chrome/Polished Black
Lens: 24k Gold Iridium
These Matt Kenseth LE's are my favorite combo of all the Splice's out there. The contrast between the lens and frame color is astounding. Big props to Ollie for discovering these very limited beauties on the Matt Kenseth website. They are destined to be a highly-sought after model.

Frame: Polished Black
Lens: 24K

Another splice, yes lucky #10. When I saw these, I busted out the credit card. I couldn't afford it, but I also couldn't afford not to get it. The lens is mangificent. I have no idea who the signature guy is aside from being a Nascar driver, but that doesn't matter. He gave us this pretty colorway to go crazy over.

Speaking of colorway, it appears as one color, polished black, at first glace. But on further inspection, the top appears to have a slight ripple patten that you normally see only on chrome models. I know this isn't Black Chrome, since the other splice doesn't match, but it's definitely not the same as the bottom. I dub thee Jet Chrome. Or something like that.

Edit: I believe it's Dark Chrome.

Frame: Rootbeer/platinum
Lens: gold iridium
Have to be my absolute favorite pair of glasses. I love this style and although it is a little over the top it really works a mojority of the time as long as you at least act like you know what you are doing. A very "loud" pair of glasses to say the least. I need to get some more color ways to add to the collection.
ae86 -
Frame: Gunmetal, Polished black
Lens: Emerald Iridium

These are wicked looking glasses. They make me think of X-metals because of the way the frames are assembled are similar to X-metal frames.

The look great, but I find that they don't fit all that great. I find that the glasses don't stay on my nose too well and I can't seem to find any replacement nosebombs like what I have on my Half Jackets. The end of the ear stems are also a bit strange because of how flexible they are. I have no worries about breaking them though.

The emerald lenses are quite dark. I thought that the lenses would be grey underneath the emerald iridium coating, but it has a slight bluish grey color instead. No a big deal.
Rick -
Frame: Matte Black/Polished Black
Lens: HI Persimmon
To commemorate the 25th anniversay of Murusaki Sports in Japan, Oakley released this limited edition Splice. I have procured the last available model off their shelves. The only way to find one now is from someone willing to part with one. The lens is something to behold. The exclusivity of this particular model makes it even better in my mind.
O_MattR -
Frame: Black Gunmetal - Polished Black
Lens: Emerald Iridium

These are a bit more subtle then some of the other combos but still look great with the emerald iridium lens. I would almost say this is one of the "safer" combos if you want OTT styling but dont want everybody staring you when you walk by.

O_MattR -
Frame: FMJ 5.56 - Polished Black
Lens: Fire

Already loving my JPMs, I had to pick up this pair. I think the contrast between the FMJ, polished black and Fire makes them look just sick! I also like the way this fire looks alot more like fire than my valves.
O_MattR -
Frame: JPM White Chrome/Cystal Black
Lens: Ice

This was my third pair of oaks and till this very day are one of my favorites, simply because they are so comfortable and of course I love the OTT styling.
O-minous -
Frame: Matte Black/Crystal Black
Lens: Grey

I was a little hesitant to pick up a splice in the first place so played it safe and went for what I figured to be the most conservative color. I have to say so far its a mixed bag. I like the frame a lot, especially the matte black sections and the contrast it creates with the crystal black. The grey lenses are decent but nothing more.

Fit is the main issue. I’ve tried on a few splice and they all feel different and never seem to consistently fit the same way. These particular ones are very loose on me. They look alright on, but I never feel very comfortable wearing them since there’s virtually no feeling of grip and I keep thinking they’re off centre somehow. I’d consider getting another pair just for a better fit, though the other colors are too scary.

Frame: White Chrome - Crystal Black
Lens: Ice Iridium
When these came out, I knew this was the Oakley frame that best suited my face. The limited edition JP Montoya white chrome/crystal black color scheme is a little too bright, but I guess that's what makes it stand out from the rest of the other colorways. Unbelievably, the white chrome coating has stood up to the numerous bumps and drops that my sunglasses have experienced. The coating has not chipped or scratched. The only downside is that the frame really hugs the face, making the lens fog up easily under extreme heat. Overall, this is one good buy.

Frame: gunmetal and blackchrome
Lens: emerald and black iridium

i actually never wore this shades, just wanted it to put in my collection , and personally , i like the emerald lenses the best. ice is to obvious, fire is to loud
the blackchrome are an agressive looking color-combination , but look really nice

Frame: FMJ Crystal Blue
Lens: Ice
They're light... aggressive looking... and gotta love the idea of the half and half O-Matter colors. Fits real well on the face too. Great sport eyewear; rated the best (#1) by Auto Pilot. Downside: too many fakes which comes in every color of the rainbow. But definately worth it.
Rick -
Frame: Rootbeer
Lens: Gold Iridium
What attracted me to these was the 2-tone frame. I liked the name too, very Norman Rockwellesque. I must admit I don't often wear them though. I have to give them props for design ingenuity. If someone was to ask me to recommend a color combo, I'd probably lead them towards the 5.56/Fire or the Polished Black/Persimmon Final mark: 4/5

Frame: Black Gunmetal/Polished Black
Lens: G30
this is what i use when i play golf. the G30 lens is perfect in providing contrast of the ball against the green. a dark gloomy day seems a little bit sunny with these on. nothing beats the price of the splice in terms of value and looks! forgot to rate it! it's a perfect five for me!
rdgdmd -
Frame: Black Gunmetal/Polished Black

my favorite among the splice colorways. the best fit of all the oakleys i have. i think this is the best oakley for the asian face contour. the emerald iridium lens is great outdoors! a true headturner. worth well your investment.

Frame: FMJ+ Crystal Blue

I remember trying these on thinking 'these look weird, but they look cool!' I'm a big fan of the Ice lens and I think if you have the right face shape then these glasses are the business.

Frame:Black - Polished Black
Lens:H.I. Persimmon

These glasses are very rare and unique.
one of the only ways you can get the H.I. Persimmon lenses, apart from goggles and half jackets.
these look great with the pinky orange of the lens and then the black/black frames.
very very cool.
DisturbedEarth -
Frame: FMJ+ Crystal Blue
Lens: Ice Irridium

One of my favorite pair, second only to the Juliets. Great style, very comfortable, lightweight. I bought these when they first come out and the have their own Oakley Case!
trego33 -
Frame: Black/Matte Black
Lens: H.I. Persimmon

A good subtle frame for people who dont want to STAND OUT - but still want to rock the Oakley style. However because this frame was designed for asian markets - it seems slightly smaller than the regular splice frames which is something to take into consideration before purchasing it. The lens is alright - nothing great about it - there are better lens color options available.Good if you have a small face and want a subtle frame to wear. Also because of the uniform color scheme - can easily be converted to prescription frames. For medium faces the regular splice models are better.
oogie -
Frame: Black
Lens: Emerald

Definitely a good fit for those with medium faces. Potentially a bit too small frame/lens set for those with large noggins. Overall, though, I love the setup with complementary o-matter frame colors screwed together. A bold look for those that like all those "something different" pairs of Oakleys.
trego33 -
Frame: Black/Black chrome
Lens: Black Iridium

A well designed frame - sturdy but not too heavy and unobtanium nosebombs and earsocks are included - comfortable to wear and the innovative design gets attention wherever you go - One of my favorite designs

Oakley should release a Black/Black frame with ruby iriduim lenses.
Ed -
Frame: Black/Matte Black
Lens: HI Persimmon

This color combo seems to only be available on eBay (at least in the US). It is very nice to have a low-light lens available for the Splice. I think this my favorite Splice frame because of the low-profile black-on-black colors (I'm not a big fan of striking two-tone frames).
702_Omatter -
Frame: FMJ Crystal Blue
Lens: Ice Iridium
My very first oakleys. This oakleys are the bomb. I choose the splice model becuase of its design. Totally out-of-this world. Never seen a design quite like this. Totally unique to say the least. I bought this pair at sunglass hut. This was the only pair of splice in there, that's why I bought it. If the Polished Black/Fire Iridium model was available that time, I would rather have gotten that pair, since Fire Iridiums lens are my personal favorite. But nonetheless, these pair is superb. Great fit, very comfortable, out-of-this world design, very durable. What more can you ask for?
x-metalman -
Frame: Crystal Black/FMJ+

This is my personal favorite color combo. These have an incredible design. Lightweight and aggresive. I love the FMJ top orbital and the streamlined Unobtanium earsocks. Just too many good things to say about these. Very recommended.

Frame: Black
Lens: H.I. Persimmon

Yet another one. Almost done with the collection. The HI Persimmon lens is amazing, and makes it one of the prettier Splice's that has to be seen to appreciate. It works much like HI Blue, and I've had no problems using them at night.
o-xide -
Frame: Rootbeer/ Platinum
Lens: Gold Iridium
This is the first O matter that comes close to an X-Metal. the fact that you can use a T5 torx screwdriver to customize the frame is really amazing. I was wondering if the fake one have the screws. Anyway the only pain in the ass changing is the earstems because it doesn't screw out but instead it snaps in and out. I still give it 5 because it another first for Oakley
Dann -
Frame: Chrome/Gunmetal/BlackFMJ
Lens: Black/Emerald/Fire

Black Gunmetal/Emerald:
A sunglass hut exclusive for a long while, they're finally available to the public. The emerald lens is nice as always. It doesn't increase contrast, but sometimes you don't want that, ie. bright sunlight. The gunmetal is a very nice frame which you don't see often. Overall, the color scheme works very well.

Black Chrome - Black/Black Iridium:
After seeing the damage that the Chrome Scars seem to self-inflict, I was weary of getting the same frame on the Splice's, but I got a good deal and they were hard to pass up. The Chrome looks very nice, but as I said, it tends to peel. My friend has this exact model and the chrome is completely gone. Oakley will replace, but what a hassle. Other than that, Splice's are awesome shades and my all time favorite.

Polished Black - FMJ/Fire:
My forth pair, I'm intending to get all 8. I've tried the Fire lens in the past, and never to a pleasurable experience. Between my Square Wires and Valves, I never tended to wear them much, but I love Splice's so much, I couldn't let that stand in my way. I'm glad I didn't, becuase they are a very nice pair to look at, and if you can stand the Greenish tint, they work very well. The contrast between White Black and Orange would make any traditional design cringe, but this is Oakley and they do the strangest things and make it work. It's a bit more money than a standard Splice, but I don't see them lasting too much longer, so grab them while they last.
jonny brutale -
Frame: FMJ Crystal Blue

i love these sunglasses so so much, they look mean and aggressive, however there is a fault with them, as the fmj coating keeps peeling off the top, im on my second pair, replaced by oakley. rather dissapointed to be honest.
Ed -
Frame: Black/Gunmetal
Lens: Emerald

I had to try these on about three times before I finally decided I liked them. The Black and Gunmetal seem to go together nicer than the other color combos in my personal opinion. Emerald Iridium is always nice to look at, but nothing special to look through. The lenses are large and offer good coverage. I especially like the big, uniquely shaped earsocks. They are quite different from any other Oakley model. The highly sculptured frame is very aggressive and distinctive, but it does make the fit less ideal for smaller faces.
Thomas64 -
Frame: Montoya Splice
Lens: Ice
The Montoya Splice color combo is very unique and eye catching. A little too eye catching it's kind of weird looking. I don't like the splice frame too much because it fit too close to my face and eyes so it fog up very easily. I sold it on Ebay and never regret it.

Frame: Crystal Black/Grey

Great glasses. Really light compared to the Juliets that were nicked. Got the water straps for these suckers so they would stay on my head white kitesurfing. Really wicked. Got a badass tan!!! Does well in the sea water, and is as tough as hell.

Frame: Black/Black Chrome
Lens: Black Iridium

These glasses look very cool. I bought a pair and wore them for the whole of summer, but I guess the mixture of water, sweat and sunscreen took its toll on the outer layer of the Black Chrome part of the frame, and it started to bubble and peel. Very disappointing. I got the Black Chrome part replaced by Oakley and haven't worn them since because I intend on selling them because of this frame problem.

Frame: FMJ Crystal Blue

I started off not liking these, but it's kinda grown on me. They have a very cool aggressive look to them. I feel like a super hero wearing them :) I think I'll wear them when I'm mowing the lawn...
Jonathan B -
Frame: Black/Black Chrome
Lens: Black Iridium

These glasses are so bad assed. They look good, fit comfortably, and cover the entire eye, in true jacket tradition. A great pair of sports sunglasses. I have to give this color scheme a 4 because the Black Chrome paint peels off about a few months after being replaced.
Plan-B -
Frame: Black Chrome/Black
Lens: Black Iridium

The fit of these glasses is obviously intended for big heads. These are among the few that fit me without feeling any squeeze anywhere. They're also reasonably light-weight so that adds to the comfort.

The two-tone look is very cool, though the Black Chrome really just looks like a dark and slightly tarnished brass. They're very alien and aggressive looking so if you're more into the fashion or conservative look, these are definitely not for you. It definitely takes a certain someone to pull off the racy look.

Since the frame is assembled with screws, I'd assume all you would need is a small torx to change out lenses for a different look. It's not a T-6 though, so if you're thinking that the torx driver you have for your Juliets will work, you'd be wrong.
