We should have an "Official Oakley related accidents" thread. Hope you are on the mend and back to 'normal' soon, Ian.

Sorry to hear about all the recent life pains, Ian. At least it sounds like you've been able to rise above it.

Those x-squared are going to be one of your most memorable pairs ever.

Congrats, and at the same time, my condolences.

My brother has bought a pair with a polished frame and vr28 black iridium polarized.
At first they are just awesome. In comparison with my Juliets they have a very tight fit. But that's not a problem at all. Really recommended pair of glasses.

I am having a hard time restricting myself to one pair of the X-square. I am impressed.

I got to try these on and am very impressed at how well they look and fit! Definitely getting a pair of these !

Only gripe is that the stems are thinned out when compared to juliet.

Got to try these one today at the sunglass stand in Charlotte International Airport. Quite impressed. They FEEL like the juliets, but as stated before, the stems are a bit thinner. The size of the lens is much more fashionable.

Ahh... decisions decsions. Juliets and Pitboss or X Squared and Pitboss..

Thats easy.... XS and PB.

Go with something new instead of tried and true.

I like them. Wasn't totally blown away at first but they're growing on my really quick. The X2's kinda make my Juliets looks a little dated. The frames are much thinner than Juliets especially the ear stems. They are soo thin right at the midway point (damn oakley). The stems length are also considerably shorter but the ends are feathered out (unlike the Juliets) for better comfort. I would have preferred slightly thicker stems but these still flow well with the frame overall.

The lens shape is dead on. It's got more wrap than the stock photo depicts but looks awesome. The extra coverage works well for my face. They are not tighter than Juliets. My Juliets have hardly ever been worn so I can say the X2's are no tighter, maybe even slightly looser fittings. The X2's are very comfortable and fit well.

The biggest complaint I have was that one of my lenses must have been a tad loose cause it's making a slight rubbing sound if I squeeze the frame a little. I thought you only heard this on the plastic framed glasses. Also my box was beat up so I'm returning them (ebay) and ordering directly from Oakley.

Well, I returned the ebay X2's last week and yesterday I received the X2's glasses from Oakley and these lenses are even more loose than the previous...arghhh!!! You can actually see the left orbital move forward and backward somewhere between a 1/32" to 1/16"...way to loose IMO.

I'm going to try one more pair of X2's. Oakley was very nice over the phone and is rushing them to me. We'll see how it goes but I'm betting there's going to be a bunch out there with excessively loose lenses.

Ian. Wow. Sorry to hear about all that sh!t that happened to you. Couldn't have happened to a more undeserving person. Glad you have the X-Squared to help console you. I guess it is a Merry Christmas after all! Hope your foot (and the rest of you) heals quickly so you'll be back on your feet in no time. Sucks to hear about the car. Hopefully the insurance company will help out. Best wishes in the coming new year!

P.S. I have about 2 weeks off from work (starting today) and you know I'm going to be working hard on that double-wide (finally)! Thanks again for making my dreams come true! You sir have made it a very early Merry Christmas for me.

i too have a pair of square x... carbon/black iridium.
no loose lenses and the fit (for me) much better than the other x-metals. shorter ear stems that don't dig into the back of my skull.

and the look is great, looks much better in person than o.com

wayne - i just checked them out and yea, the left lenses is slightly loose towards the upper outside corner of the orbital but only really moves if you put pressure on it, i prolly wold have never noticed it

Dave - i plan on wearing them occasionally but they are safely tucked away in the case for now!

I just bought a pair at HQ and the sales guy there did check the lenses and got me a tighter pair to take home. Seems like they know to check for it...

I'm really pleased with mine. Great pair.

Hey! How difficult was the disassembly? Hex wrench? Haven't tried it quite yet...

Allen.. it was quite stiff at first cause it had locktight.

A bit tricky to put back in since you have to push them in hard against the rubbers.

Heh, for a moment my heart stopped for you and the thought that you'd broken your XS's but on closer inspection I understood! Nice Rubies(true definition of Ruby colour) from the looks of things too.

the second picture is edited lol! I forgot to edit the shadow. I just wanted to make a friend jealous!

The ruby in my X-squared does have more red than yellow and have some purple in the middle. Im content cause it doesnt look like fire.

Im hoping to score those dark rubies on an x-squared or maybe just cut some +reds from an mframe lens.

My XS's are the most Ruby like I've seen to tell you the truth: even they have Orange/Yellow edges. I think it's more to do with the the shape of the lens than anything else. I do collect Ruby stuff amongst other, and will try to get the best Ruby that's available.
