The lenses are the most scary thing indeed. The reason I thought abut ultrasonic is that for three pairs my lenses started to delaminate, fortunately I have found replacements for two pairs. My black iridium Twitch, however is still in need of a fresh pair of lenses.
The idea of compressed air to dry the also sounds great, never thought of that. We do have a compressor, but I am afraid that one is quite overkill, definitely something to look into :D
Also good to hear some experiences with the use of dishwashing soap. So far it looks like it's ok, curious to hear some more experiences.

Thanks Oak, the test I did on some old and useless pairs was quite positive. I put some fingerprints on the lenses and with the temperature between 45-50 degrees celsius they were gone. It was also that first test session that I found out that the timer didn't work.
There was some other nasty stuff on the glasses though that remained. I am contemplating if some ecological dish washing solution might also help, we have one here from a brand called Sonnett and they only use plant based stuff in it. Comparing it to the lens cleaning solutions it seems like a way more pure solution than the solutions. It is this stuff: https://gimmethegoodstuff.org/store/sonett-dish-soap/
However I am always a bit afraid of using solutions on my eyewear. I am curious what you think.

True that, I often pick glass lenses for driving and such. For sports of course impact resistance is pretty important, so no glass there for me.

That looks pretty cool indeed! Curious how it looks in real life.
Speaking about lenses, I am really impressed by the glass lenses of Serengeti. Impact resistance is quite a thing though ;)

I received the cleaner yesterday. Did some testing, and I am positive that it might work, the unit had one defect with the timer however. So I returned, hopefully I will soon have a new one and can report some more on it.

The newer one looks good to me, but regarding the older pair I agree with Dann. To me those look not ok, the logo, the "more hollow" nose bridge, and the somehow thick looking rims seems to be not correct.

Yeah, that works quite great indeed. Problem is that in the Netherlands those kits can't get a refill easily... I am also not too keen on using other solutions than the one from the O on my lenses.
I just ordered an ultrasonic cleaner with temperature control, so you can theoretically get the grease of better by adjusting the temperature (temperature range is from 20 to 80 degrees celsius). I expect by using the cleaner and just water it might give a good result, curious to see it though ;-)

I was recently looking at my collection and noticed that the lenses on some of my pairs had started to delaminate.I usually cleaned them with the microbag and running tap water.
This did concern me however, so I was wondering what other ways there must be possible without using additived. Now I am looking at an industrial ultrasonic cleaner, which seems to be a good solution to me. I mustn't think of my zeroes or x-metals going wrong...
Do any of you guys have some experience with ultrasonic cleaners? Or an opinion on it of course ;)
Looking forward to hear from you guys!

This looks extremely promising. The etching in the lens, the styling of the ear stems and hinges. They feature a lot of the Zero/ Sub Zero styling characteristics but are definitely very contemporary as well. Way to go...

I have a pair of Shadow Camo/ Grey Polarized Oil Rigs in stock, so if you are interested... ;-)
Thai are at €109,- ex. shipping.

For running and such, I love my O ROKR Pro's. So, if they have bluetooth etc. they will definitely be a winner for me! From what I can see at the pictures, they definitely look good too.

I love the idea behind the machinist collection. But they could actually have taken it to a next level, this is a bit too tame for my liking actually.
It looks like a print, if I am right? If they used something like lasercut aluminum it would have been really machinistic ;)

Speaking of Dita, at the moment I just got an email that can get hold of some Dita models.
Only thing: there is an MOQ, but if there are enough people interested I can order some at a nice price (€180,-).
- Vultee - Brown tortoise earstems, black frames
- Oxford - Black
- Ciudad - Grey & Black/ Tortoise
- Kasbah - Black/ Tortoise w. Gold, Brown Tortoise w. Black & Black w. Silver
- Classe - Black/ yellow, Grey, Brown Tortoise
I can also get hold of some Gold & Wood models. Which will be around €150,- a pair (retailing at €350,-).
- Atria - Black Chrome/ Brown
So, if some people are interested, just let me know. I think we need to order at least 6 pair. I can maybe place the order today. Otherwise it will be within two weeks or so.
Still, shipping will have to be added.

They have some crazy stuff right there. Never heard of them before actually.
Their Big Bully model reminds me of the new Piet Hein Eek eyewear.
They are made quite well actually.

Dita is just an amazing brand.
The Ti/price relation is one that i don't really believe in. As when, for example, you take a look at Porsche design, their older models have been quite steady price-wise, also the ones that make use of Japanese titanium. I think there is quite some part of the pricing due to the fact that it is a luxury brand.

Just weighed the 0.1 and nanowire 1.0 and both are just 18 grammes.
So that's not too heavy, but no winner here. Maybe they are the lightest, but then we need to see some more weighings;)
Oct 8, 2015 11:49 AM
I also have the 1.0 and 2.0. I will do some weighing this weekend guys!
Oct 7, 2015 10:33 AM
That's a tough one. But I might say the 0.1... no proof thoughts I don't have all the Oakleys models that have ever been made. But by logical reasoning the 0.1 must be the one.
The smallest lenses and relatively thin earstems. I know they are lighter than many titanium models, for example the ti. whisker. I can weigh some 0.1's though, so a comparison could be made.

The peeling and bubbling is something that I have with two pairs as well. They are my Paintiffs with Warm Grey lenses and a Felon with Dark Grey lenses.
Something which is a real shame and shouldn't be possible to happen. On Oakleyforum there are also some reports of this problem. So it happens more often unfortunately... Luckily I still have a spare set of Felon lenses, but for the Plaintiff it is a completely other story, I can't seem to locate some new pairs...

Just saw that the turnover of Lux has increased by 22,2% over the first quarter of this year. Of which a lot is to do with lenscrafters and sunglasshut, as well as the online sales via official oakley and ray-ban sites and sunglasshut.com.
It looks like they also want to focus more on the online sales in the future.
May 4, 2015 4:46 PM
They will actually be my first pair of silhouettes, so in that sense they are a bit more special as an addition to my collection.
May 4, 2015 6:28 AM
Coming back on the 2014 Silhouette Futuras that I posted about. Yesterday I finally have been able to grab a pair from eBay. The yellow ones they are. Looking forward to receive them.
I simply love the color, the ones I was looking for in the first place.
Apr 29, 2015 9:03 AM
Did you already get a set?
I might still have a couple of sets laying around. Just let me know, then I can have a look for you somewhere today/ tonight.
Apr 29, 2015 9:01 AM
Looking at my Plaintiffs today, I found out that the lenses started to delaminate, so I am looking to find some replacements. If someone could help me out, that would be great!
Apr 23, 2015 7:32 PM
Took my first steps more into Tag Heuer today. Mainly for Juleye actually, but I will be getting some stock soon. Of course one of them will end up on my face ;-)
