Congratulations to everyone that made it a LOT of o-review members were chosen, I am sure you will all have a great time !

well eric. i know it is not the end of the world.

but i can't stress enough on to me it was not well judged or same rules applied to everyone.

again to me there are more deserving persons than a few non o-review members.

you to start with, bong,brent,justin,nick.

am not even include myself for the international part. i mean a ticket fomr australia isn't cheap. so if they had to choose between me and mike i would given mike it.

cause i can easly point 3 to 5 persons who has less then 20 views, or 300. pics to me not oakley enough, and if video was said to be aplied well.

it sure stings but what you gonna do. again. if the contest was flooded with all te review members it could have been an easier pill to swallow. but for me to say an o tattoo please how many of us didn't put one for different reasons..

tell me about passsion.
some one who build a fan site for the brand, another how get the money from his pocket for such a site is running.
people how would give out a limp to get that precious tower. people that will hunt every single watch of that one design just to say i have the whole set.

if they didn't want to flood the whole program with the review so they could be another i think most people their moral is down. it is if someone didn't sign in the first time, not to not chosen and for the second time , you will be picked.

again to my opinion there are more cualified persons that could have go.

I would like to go, and not for the free trip. i mean o can pay for it. but the exclusivity of it. the behind the scene. was more for me. and to be apreciated by the brand is something i could have treasure for ever.

we all know we didn't start collecting to get a thanks from the brand or what ever we are doing for the passion and that we believe in the brand.

i will not talk about this matter no more.

congrats to all from the bottom of my heart.

and rock on.

Show oakley why we are the O-review.

You make a lot of good points and we all have a circle of differents friends here that we wish was inluded, at the end of the day, 50 peoples gets filled up pretty quickly.

We should make an official list of o-review members going if someone wants to make one.

Congratulations to those who made, commiserations to those who didn't.

I'm going to be living this one through Mike - can't wait to hear the stories and see the pictures! Oh and if any of you have any queries about me, I'm sure Mike will be able to answer them! (Things like "yes, he really is that much of a wanker".)

In the end, to all those that wrongfully didn't make it - I hope it comes down to an unjust judging decision and not something that greatly affects their feelings toward the brand or collection.

As impartial as I try to be, I can see that the contest can't really judge on one's passion or measure the constant interactions we all share here ... the contest can just do the best with what is presented in the contestant's applications.

That said, I am sure scratching my head at some of the winner's applications.

I have been reluctant to post until I got my confirmation email that I had won - it all seemed to good to be true.
I would like to congratulate the other winners, and extend my thanks to Oakleyz for giving us the scoop on this contest and pushing hard for all of us, along with Dann for running such a great site. I would also offer my apologies to those that did not make it in. I am looking forward to meeting all the fellow O-Review members.

Congratulations to all OR & non-OR members that will be making the trip to HQ very soon; for those of you that did not win, thank you for your well wishes and positive words. Support and camaraderie is one of the biggest reasons why we love the OR - and why we agree that this is bittersweet.

A big mahalo to Mark for all you've done to bring this to the OR community. And also to the powers that be that we may or may not have seen at work to make the contest possible. This truly is an honor and we hope to represent the OR well.

Can someone wear a tee or a placard with the inscription "BiGCoB is with us" ? I'd feel a little more with you like this Hahaha

-----------------

Finally, how many OR member did it ? I counted 19, but I must have missed some.

-----------------

I don't really understand why some fellows here take the non selection so bad.
Come on guys, I spend 2 hours (at least) per day on O-review + Oakleyfr.com;I've been investing a lot of time and effort to repair Oakleyfr.com which had crashed during a hosting move; I spend hours taking pics of my collection, rearranging my tower, searching for new display items in retailers, searching new retailers etc etc ...

And I assume the non selection with a big smile.
My pics and video was very common and had nothing special compared to others. Maybe I should have taken a pic of my back and photoshop a tatoo ... (hey, take the shirt of the guys with big tatoos of to check)
Of course there are some guys that have been selected for obvious reasons, but that's how life goes.

You don't have lost a nut, you just have not been selected on a contest.
You did not started your collection for some kind of recognition, you did it for yourself ... at least I hope.

I haven't been picked... and it hurts.

Despite the genuine praise of commitment, dedication, and passion we all have to our collections, to the commiserations for not being chosen, it still hurts.

For those who didn't win, I'm there with you, I know EXACTLY how you feel right now.

I know it sounds selfish, but there will never be another inaugural Factory Co-Pilot Event. Also, even if there will be another, it wouldn't be the same because I'd imagine it will be with a wholly different group of people.

I for one will be keeping my collection. I can't bear to look at it right now, but there will be the right time where it will give me joy again.

Congrats to those who made it... have fun, enjoy, and live it up! You guys deserve it, more than you know.

See y'all soon.

Like I had already stated, if I were beat out by better entrants, I would have been totally fine with it but that was totally not the case. There were 3 or 4 reviewers that hands down should have been selected as winners...end of story! I caught a little wind last night that one of the reasons I was not selected is because I am an OPD. That I say is TOTAL garbage! There was nothing listing that disclaimer in the rules at all, it was stated that you could not be an employee or family of employee of oakley or any of there other companies. This just in, I don't work for Oakley, never have and never will. I will sell there product at my store, but I don't receive a paycheck from them. I went out on a limb and put everything that I had onn the line to open my store which was based soley around Oakley! That is what pisses me off even more about this. What makes me different than the other average Joe when it comes to being a true fan for the brand?? And also, only about 35% of my collection has been obtained since I opened the doors to my store. To see a guy get selected that didn't even have any pictures posted but said he has a giant oakley tat on his ribcage and to see it, they need to select him a winner. Are you freakin kidding me??? One picture of a judge watch on another one? People didn't even follow the rules of the contest and that was an end result. I thought I would be over it today but I am actually more pissed today than I was yesterday. I am going to continue to be the BEST OPD that I can be for obvious reasons but the personal side for me has more than likely seen its last day as a die hard oakley fanatic. So I guess the old famous quote goes like this...it is, what it is... This is the last post on this for real, I would again like to offer my congrats to all the winners and as you can tell, I wanted to be there with you guys in the worst way! I am not leaving the review but my wallet is going to get a lot fatter. Peace out my O-Brosiffs!! (had to throw in a little anchorman humor)

i agree, i bet some of the winners did not even think of winning and just joined for fun or they just stumbled into the contest. but for us die hards, we know we have to win because we know we put our heart, dedication, effort, time, money and everything into it, bottom line, "NOBODY DOES IT LIKE US",i guess some of the "not supposed to be winners" does not realized how important this is to us, and how it would change our lives.it also puzzles us how did they judge it. they set the rules but it is obviously unfair. at least if our fellow OR members that did not win know why??????, it could comfort them and would be easier to accept the fact.

To be fair, how could any contest tell the non winners why they lacked that winning element?

I also feel that many of the winners have already been to HQ prior to this contest. Is that fair to people who may not have the funds or abilities to fly out to CA? Probably not.

50 were picked...it is not for us to debate who the more deserving candidates should be, or how they arrived at the final 50. Remember it is 50 of over 600. There are a lot of people who were not selected. Lets not dissect the contest. If I lost, I would not be crushed...I still have my collection, and know that I gave it my all.

I know I am overboard in my collecting, but I would remember the Review' and the networking we have here...its a great resource that keeps the true Oakley spirit alive. One contest does cannot define us.

Well - I agree with you guys and I held out for any excitement for this thing.

Mainly because it kind of pissed me off that someone should have the right to judge my level of dedication.

Fuk that. Who has the right to judge that? No one. Absolutely no one. I know I'm a fanatic - just like the rest of you.

Bottom line - we have changed our lives and made Oakley a pinnacle in our existance. This goofy little contest shouldn't challenge that. Yes - I'm in - but never expected to be so - and still don't know why.

Regardless - It pissed me off to think somone should judge me on my level of commitment. No one has the right to judge that. NO ONE. I do this for me. Not for recognition or fame or anything - I do it for me - and my passion for the brand.

It is most certainly not for recognition or what anyone else thinks about it, me, or my collection. It's for me because I enjoy it.

Win or lose some stupid little competition - it could never change my passion for the brand - nor my opinion of why I do it.

For the next competition I will be going to the tattoo shop and having every inch of my body covered with tattoos (done with a biro), as well as photoshopping a photograph of myself wearing a pair of Ti Clear Juliets so that I have icons instead of irises.

That and actually bothering to enter....
