The movie's being released internationally this week and May 4th in North America. I recommend everyone go check it out.

Saw this yesterday in 3D and was quite impressed. The visual effects are amazing. Took along the Tintin 3D glasses and they worked a treat too.

Saw it last night. Pretty awesome movie.
I just wish it was not in 3D.

BTW, I hate more and more cinema.
People chatting, bad sound and image tuning, small space for the legs... Come on, when I pay 12euros to watch a movie, I'd appreciate to enjoy it.

It looks awesome! I'm still trying to catch up though, gotta see Captain America yet.

Is it only being shown in 3D?

I'm sure I'll catch the movie sometime in the theaters. I'm just not sure how many 'bad parent' points would be earned if I brought along my 6 year old son. (what does PG-13 really mean thse days!?!) If we could all go as a family, it would sure happen sooner rather than later.

It's a family movie, so you're almost expected to take the entire family to a Sunday matinee (Sunday because I know you will be at your local comic shop on Saturday with the kids to get free stuff).

Paul, my 6 year old sees them all, but then again I am not a model parent. Last summer, my boys saw every comic book movie, even Green Lantern (awful). I drew the line at Ghost Rider. My son asked if it was because it is scary, and i told him it was because it sucked.

Guys I have a 5 year old and 7 year they both want to see this bad. I was wondering if I should take them or not myself. We've watched parts of the last two Batman movies and a few others at home with some "editing" by me. So I was thinking of taking them to see this one but you can't "edit" it while in the theater.

I think Oak is right about it being a family movie - it's just not a G family movie. That being said I still haven't mentioned it to the wife yet though.

The review I read on CNN said it was kind of campy with a high humour level as opposed to the "dark" of the Batman series. Betting it'll be ok. If they have seen the Ironman movies - guessing this would be fun for them.

Circa Robocop - can't sell the toys to kids when the movie is too violent for them.

Well done to Marvel studios, which will likely have its first $1B (worldwide) movie:

saw it today.....freakin awesome, no worse than iron man or the actual comics for the kids....a couple choice words, but nothing you wouldnt hear on tv. Took the whole family, even the wife loved it...def a redemption for the HULK in this movie, as most the others sucked.

on a side note...found a small drawback to HDO3D glasses. DO NOT SIT IN THE FRONT...it adds a bit of ghosting.

I've seen it twice. Awesome flick and some very funny moments.

I second Trevor's comment about not sitting to close with Oakley's 3d glasses. I made that mistake at the first showing.

Just saw it in 3D, disappointed to read afterwards it has been post-converted to 3D and not filmed in 3D. If I had known that I would have seen it in 2D. I feel 3D is only worth it if it has been filmed that way.

We saw The Avengers yesterday for the first time, I thought it was cool but my wife ABSOLUTELY loved it!!! I'm not really a comic book guy and I don't know all the history of the super heroes and such, only what I've seen from the movies. In my opinion Robert Downey Jr. killed it again in this movie!!! IRONMAN and HULK made the movie for me. Just my ¢.02

A friend of mine and I are supposed to see it this Sunday. My wife says NO for the kids. My youngest wants to see it SOOOOO bad. I told her when it comes out on DVD we're watching it.

My wife says NO for the kids.
Not sure how old your youngest is? We ended up hauling our 6 year old along to a showing last Friday. There was more ear-covering on the loud sounds during the previews, but he ended up being just fine with the movie.

Nothing really too scary for him, but I think he was a bit impatient during all the talking scenes (how dare they not have some superhero fighting at all times!!). He walked in an Iron Man fan, and walked out an Iron Man and Hulk fan.

The only real impact to the kid was a bit of hyperactivity after the movie as he felt the need to smash everything.

He's 5. My wife doesn't like the violence. My son is really digging the Hulk now just from the commercials. He likes Iron Man a lot too.

If anything you could convince your wife that you're just taking the kids to see the Oakley glasses that Hawkeye wears, Dan. It's all about Oakley collecting, and there's no violence in Oakley collecting. ;-)

HED's right....stay until the VERY end of the credits. There's another scene, and Thor's expression during it is worth the wait.

The only problem I had with the movie was no one has those Avengers-themed 3D glasses in stock. I guess the only option is to pay $60 for the set on eBay. Sigh.

Good point Oak. I'm working on it. My youngest said again yesterday that he wanted to see it and I was like I'm working on it.
