The increase contrast is perfect for driving, and can be used not only in bright lighting but also works well in low-mid lighting. Just got my vintage zero 0.4 2nd gen with these and it was a pleasure

I just bought the Flak Jacket with the Gold Iridium Polarized lenses and I can say they're pretty good lenses. As said before, it takes a bit to get use to the colour, but when you do their pretty good.
I'm still to try them when cycling, but so far the polarized makes reflection a very small detail.... Very happy

I have Gold Iridium put in my Burnquist Gascans. Looks great with the light wood color of the Bamboo Square Icon off the polished black frame.
LIEUTENANT -
Gold iridium is a really nice lens, but in my personal opinion, with a strange disadvantage:They can't just be easily combined with any frame. What do I mean by this? While the lenses themselves, have both a nice outside appearance, with a bright, reflective outer surface, and are exceptionally nice to look through, with all this contrast and really mellow, warm bronze based(but very close to red) tint of theirs,I just can't imagine them fitted to specific frames. They just don't match.Usually they work very well with frames that have similar colours, platinum, gold, etc, since their outer surface is intense and striking, but if you try to combine them with e.g. plasma, the whole thing gets so ruined, and neither the lens, nor the frames look good. However,it's just a side effect of theirs(that causes them minus one skull at the rating),and it actually doesn't have to do with what the lenses themselves offer, which are quite generous.Contrast, good looks, iridium and a very nice tint.it's the first time I find myself a little confused about a specific lens, but overall,I think they are worth buying and using them.

What an aggresive lens colour, what a great lens colour!!!It took me some time to get used to that one,but certainly it was worth the time. You see, when you come from emerald iridium, black iridium and dark grey tints, the aggresiveness and the intense contrast that these lenses offer,is a big change.Everything actually seemed much more vivid than before. They also have a very nice mirror finish, and since they boast high contrast properties, they are appropriate for very bright light as well as for the biggest part of the day.Dawn till dusk.A very nice pair of lenses, and really high versatile.
Pander -
Classical color for every light condition.
Although you would more likely call it 'Brown Iridium'. 24K is the real Gold Iridium if you ask me. Nontheless, this lens option is great. Good perception in even the most brightest weather.
TERRORISM -
While the name "Gold Iridium" may make one think of a "pure gold" color, the lens hue is actually more dull. The lens is excellent due to its versatility, providing adequate protection from brighter as well as medium light conditions. Given the option, however, it may be preferable to choose the polarized version of this color.
Tim cooper -
Takes some getting used too as view opens up contrast highly making it a bit headachey until of course you adapt. But when you have adapted it is really good on dull winter days. On really bright days it would be a little irritating but thats only if it is hot weather and mid summer blue sky. Appealing tint from the outside looks like the precious gold that it's called. Will attract looks from people. (millionaire richies tint!)Far better and classier than yucky fire iridium!

Nice lense, not too bright, not too dark and not to funcy. A classic piece when combined with a romeo 1 x-metal frame. You can wear them with decent clothes without being the center of attention on you.
Spikes -
Nice colour, light frame. I love this model for road cycling and mountain biking. I think it is too fragile for skiing though. The lens is a bit awkward at first, but gets used to very quickly. It increases contrast is easy on the eyes. Very relaxed.

In a world of new and innovative colors, Gold Iridium can easily be overlooked, but I am a strong proponent of this lens. It has a warmth to it that has solidified it as one of my all-time favorites. A great choice if you are looking for a pair of day-to-day glasses.
Munkfish -
Very nice colour, very easy on the eyes, and good for most light conditions - have several pairs with this lens. Quite a quiet lens, and good when you don't want a loud colour lens. One of my favourites.
dan-E -
Quite possibly the best all-around lens that Oakley ever made. Dark enough for the sunniest days but the contrast does wonders for brightening everything up and bringing out the details. They're more subtle than the similar 24K lens but still have just enough spark to look great.
barbercb -
I like this lens. It's another good all purpose lens, not too dark, not too light. Nothing pretty to look at from the outside but a good average day lens.
Tick -
This is my favorite Oakley Lens color! Contrast is superb & it so easy on the eyes. Natures greens just explode with these on. Great for varied light conditions too, even though they're pretty dark.
Ijon__Tichy -

I really like them! Finally, everything is said here - nice contrast, nice color (good-mood lenses) etc.
I think these are not Iridium. For me, there is no diference between the gold iridium and the bronze lenses.
junfatt -
I feel realy nice and confort with this lens colour as my eyes sensetive to blue light.
UBERCHUCK -
Perfect lens. Oakley suggests this for people who are sensitive to blue light. These are definetly the most soothing lens I've used. Makes me want to try to polarized version.
jumpman73 -
I have these in my Jet black half jackets right now. Its a nice combination for the Saints or Georgia Tech. I really feel like I can see clearer with these on. I use them for fielding in softball and windsprints outside.

easiest lens ever made , good for anybody and on any framecolour, cannot go wrong with this. when seeing through it , the world seems a better place ;-)
absolutmuah -
gives everything a sepia toned appearance...
makes me feel very relaxed.. i love it
=)
like i'm living my day in one of those old photographs.. ah......

I like this lens a lot. I never leaned towards increased contrast tints but using Ti changed my mind. Gold Iridium is a bit 'harsher' than Ti but it is still very nice. Ford is right when he says it makes things look 'warmer'.
The transmission level means it can be used in quite flat to very bright light. It is easier to see through from the front than Black Iridium but still mostly opaque. I recommend it.
rdgdmd -
nice lenses overall. i don't find it too dark and not too light. icreases contrast which is its main purpose, i suppose. i bought it from a dealer going out of business and put it on my juliet plasma frame as another lens option. i'm starting to like it and probably buy another oakley with this kind of lens.
bong -
awesome lenses. the bronze base is very comfortable and offers very sharp contrasts, and can be used in any condition. they look flashy enough with the Iridium mirror coating but are still sophistically understated.
Ed -
One of my favorite lenses. The bronze base tint increases contrast and makes colors brighter, especially green.
sparra -
I do like these lenses a lot, as they can be worn in a wide variety of light conditions, though I don't find them too effective in high light conditions, where I'd swith to Titanium or Ice. Still, looks very cool.
oogie -
The Gold Iridium is a great lens as brought a great new alternative to black iridium in the early days. But with all the options now (and loving the Fire, 24k and Titanium Lenses), the Gold Iridium seems to be a bit drab.
ford -
I bought these lenses off ebay and put them in my Plasma Juliet.
I live in Perth Australia, so the summer here gets really HOT.
This lens takes out some of the blue and green in the world and gives it a more golden bronze tinge. A nice touch, but it does make the world look warmer, and the last thing I want to feel on a 38 degree celcius day is warmer.
I'd say this lens is more suited to climates that are colder and less sunnier.
These are lenses I would probably use a lot in winter.
LEX7 -
My favourite lens.
I have this lens in 9 of my oakleys and im glad.
This lens is perfect for so many conditions. And makes the world look a much nicer place when your wearing it.
its great dealing with reflection off water so if you dont mind wearing your oakleys in the pool or sea its perfect for that.
Great for skiing and works well even when the sun is not out.
Turns a grey day into a golden one.

This was my top lens when it was first released with the Eye Jackets (Ivory, Cheetah, Fuel) and is still one of the greatest lenses they make. There is something so much more comforting about the contrast and colors you see though a Bronze based lens compared to a Grey base. They let in only the slightest more amount of light then Black Iridium and can be worn in any condition.
Dann -
This has to be my favorite lens. I currently have them in my Mars and hope to have the Gold Dartboards at some point. They don't let much light in, but they do increase the contrast and I've been able to wear them almost until sundown. I find the best use I've gotten from them is during a late day motorcycle ride near the ocean. The world looks truly better with Oakley's on.
Desumacchi -
A very good lens that has served me very well for a number of years! I drive, ski and sail with these on... they work almost anywhere. Even if it gets cloudy when driving I never feel I have to wrench them off to be able to see where I'm going.

I've looked through, but never owned other Oakley lenses, so my experience of others has been short. But I know from what I've seen so far I wouldn't readily swap them!
Darth_Icon -
The base is actually VR50. Pretty good lens, not as much contrast for me as Black Iridium, but looks good.
Ian -
I never used to like this color, but it's growing on me. It has the properties of both Black Iridium and Bronze. It really stands out on days with patchy clouds. Driving between bright and overcast can get annoying with bronze being too bright in the sun and Black Iridium being too dark when it's cloudy. Gold fits in-between and works perfectly. Once again, a very purpose-designed color.
xrayscatter -
I have these in my FJs. They have just the right amount of contrast and great for medium to sunny days. They are very easy on the eyes. I also own G30 and VR28 lens. These are by far my favorite. I use them for golf and everyday use. Highly recommended.
William -
Have this lens on my whisker. Go really nice with the gold/bronze colour frame. This lens is great for all light condition. Perfect for driving in any day.
banarno -
You cannot go wrong with this lens.
Makes everything bright and super sharp, but still soothing on the eye.
x-metalman -
I like these lenses but only plan on getting them when I'm older. Maybe I'll get a pair of Titanium/Gold Juliets if I can find them. Actually, I've never owned Gold Iridium, but my dad does and he loves them so I guess they're pretty awesome. Plus, if they've been around this long, there's gotta be something good about them.
