Day 2 - Thursday, March 19
1:03pm PST

Dawn, Paul, Mike and I just got back to Foothill from the Carlsbad Vault. How exciting! Our first visit to an Oakley Vault! While we didn't find any eyewear we wanted, we made off with a real steal on some clothing and accessories! We also got a few great photos with each other to go in the scrapbook.

Right now we're at Ralph's to pick up some supplies (read: booze) for when we get back to the hotel, but after this we have a more important mission: a stop at HQ!

This will be the first time either of us see the Holy Land! We can't wait!

Dude, trip of a lifetime, already have a swag bag that most members would die for, on top of tomorrow's rally car racing, etc. Effing PIMP!!!

Despite a cancelled flight from Denver, CO to Cali, Rick and I managed to switch flights and make it to the hotel in a reasonable amount of time.

After arriving, it's awesome to finally meet many of the members of the OR!

Day 2 - Friday, March 20
12:44am PST

As the second day winds to a close, I continue to think about just how fortunate we all are to be here.

As we drove up the hill to HQ, Dawn and I were just in total amazement. Seeing that massive piece of metal engineering just really helped make this whole thing hit home. The four of us spent at least a good fifteen or twenty minutes taking pictures outside before we went in for...some more pictures! We spent a good amount of time getting all sorts of pictures and checking out the merchandise in preparation for the next day's events.

Eventually we went back to the hotel, as other Co-Pilots were already arriving. Plus, we were starving. So a quick stop at In-N-Out, then into the hotel lobby with our cases of beer.

For the next several hours, we ate, talked and drank as more and more people arrived. The best part of it all was when several of us decided to play a prank on Rick by replacing his bag of goodies with a few feminine products we got for Dawn at the Vault earlier today. It was just beautiful.

After meeting and talking with more of the Oakley magicians behind this whole thing, a bunch of us went to get some dinner, then headed up to HQ for some awesome night photography!

In the morning, the real event begins. We already have an itinerary detailing what to expect, but I don't think any of us can begin to phathom just what Oakley has in store.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm dying to hear what y'all got in the gift bags :D

Definitely a great and tiring day! It's pretty impressive the energy and community feeling that such a gathering/reunion seems to generate. Very much like seeing good friends and picking up where you left off - though many of us have never met.

The big dogs like Rick, Dann and Phil seemed to be the latest arrivals - and the cheers grew through the evening. Then we continued to poke fun at Rick. I think everyone has that out of our system now, so we are all good.

Personal highlight came as a group headed to HQ for some nighttime photos and I definitely did not get to drive one of the sweetest Oaklyfied trucks used today.

Since everyone has their goodie bags now, I'll get the ball rolling with some insight to the contents and let other co-pilots fill in the rest. The co-pilot logo was predominant. A pair of tan SI boots was in the bag along with a snazzy white backpack with the co-pilot logo smack on the face of the backpack. And I recall there was stuff inside the pack...

oh that's just cruel to end it like that. Now it's gonna be a massive guessing game.

Big fun tonight. A bunch of us flying out of Denver together had our flight cancelled due to a mechanical issue with the plane. We were all on our own but managed to make it in anyway in various stages with the great help of the O guys supporting us.

It's been a long day but still yet a blast. Odd to meet so many people I have known for so long for the first time. The best is yet to come!

Oakley - and the people that are handling this, have really done an amazing job.

Keep the updates comin guys...I so wanna see those nighttime photo's of HQ...and also more details of what goodies are in those bags...

That's is penance for having left us last year. He'll have to suffer from that all life long now.

I imagine it being like an Oakley Willy Wonka Factory....pools of O matter being molded...oompa loompas popping lenses in..maybe 1 lucky guest will win...Oakley itself then take off thru a big Ruby Clear Glass elevator into the sky

The chocolate factory is exactly what it is...hopefully all the co-pilots make it out unscathed! Stay away from Slugworth!!!
