The polished frames are actually slightly different than the polished juliets. From what he told me, the polishing process was tried out on them early on, and wasn't as refined as the final finish. They are not as high gloss as the polished juliets, but are still quite shiny.
The VR28 blue lenses are awesome, but because of the slight prescription on them, they give me a headache if I look through them for more than a few minutes.

Just by glancing over the lists, I'm gonna say the Juliet wins top spot, with the Half-X coming in dead last, and the Mars not far behind it.
The middle is gonna be quite interesting.

OK, my turn to rank, but that's a very hard task as we have to consider design, comfort and all ...
Anyway, here is my list

Looking at the X-metal reviews and Poll #1: Favorite Oakley, you'd expect the ranking to be in following order:

1) Juliet
2) Penny
3) XX
4) Romeo
5) Romeo 2
6) Mars
7) Half-X

The results of this small poll is actually very similar, but a couple (Penny and Romeo) switched spots, surprisingly enough:

1) Juliet
2) Romeo
3) XX
4) Penny
5) Romeo 2
6) Mars
7) Half-X

I would've figured the Penny, having a similar shape/design, would come second and that the Romeo, with its spider-cracking issue, would be lower.

Here is the tally:



A few things I noticed:

-Predictably, the Juliet is the most loved X-metal and Half-X is the most despised.
-Even amongst us hardcore fans, it's surprising to see the Romeo have more first place votes than the Juliet.
-Just as surprising (IMO) is the XX having more first place votes than Penny.
-The Juliet and Romeo together accounted for over 76% of first place votes. On the other hand, Half-X accounted for 80% of last place votes all by itself.
-The only pairs not having a first place vote is the R2 and Half-X.
-XX and Mars are the only pairs to have votes in each place.



Thanks to everyone who participated. It was a fun little exercise.

Wow, that really was quite an educational piece. Those little details you pointed out at the end were also quite enlightening.

Like you point out the Romeo gets more number one votes but not enough 2nd / 3rd place votes to give it the ultimate top spot.

When I read your conclusion I thought that I may be the only one with the Mars on the top spot (hey, it is on the second last place) but then I saw that the chief also had the planet were it belongs. Great statistic!

I must say I'm shocked that Mars ranked so low...

I wasn't. Personally, I love the pair, but I can see it not being too popular with many people for a variety of reasons. I think top reason being fit. Even on my small head, the Mars seems quite tight.
