Tonelam21, right down where is written X men is written: "o confronto final", whick means "The last stand" in portuguese, it's because it's a brazilian promotion I think ;)

My wife is portugese and I think that translates to "The Final Confrontation" or "The last Confrontation"

yeah, actually the exact translation it "the last confrotation", but "the last stand" changed here to "o confronto final", that's why i've said that, but movies translations aren't always exactly the same. ;)

the newer rubies tend to look more like what is recognized as the fire lense, instead of the red color that is naturally associated with the name ruby.

I love my rubys with the purple in them, they are the best shades I have ever owned. I'm not into orange and I was really hoping these reissues would be very red.. Theyt better send these out soon.

Is red better? Some members here, as they have said, prefer redder lenses. But yes, you're right; it still is Ruby. Be happy with your Juliets, they are a nice pair. Welcome to the site as well.

I still say the Penny X Metal frame is worth more than the lenses they have (if someone can sell one to me cheap, I wouldn't refuse).

oh yea, dont think im dissing you or anything, you have perhaps oakleys most kick ass pair of sunglasses on your hands there, one that i tried for a long time to get (ask any member here)

these are my rubies, serial X001428, the lenses have some orange and yellow at the edges, but in open sunlight thely look almost purple, i have another set of mint red lenses that i keep as a backup that i hope ill never need to use.

I guess it's no surprise that the Ruby Juliet reissue lenses are fire-like. That's the way factory fresh Ruby lenses have been for a while now.

Diego, the glasses and lenses you have are awesome. It's just that people prefer deep red lenses on glasses that's connected to X-men, since the movie lenses are suppose to be dark red. If it weren't tied to X-men, I suspect that more fans would appreciate them even more.

If all the re-issued rubies will look like that then all previous batches specially the really "red" ones will become more "precious" and expensive also. Gotta grab another one before prices will go up in ebay.

Can I safely assume that one of the reaons the Ruby Juliet is more expensive is because we could redeem an X metal Vault?

Diego, I was told that Ruby Juliets were quite easy to find in Brazil even before their re-issue. Maybe I heard that wrong. Did you manage to check out any Ruby Penny at the retail shops?

Well, I frequent loyts of Oakley retails every weekend and I didn't even know the ruby lens existed. It certainly was almost impossible to find. But now, you can find some. I was told that came only about 100 Juliets rubys to Brazil. I think that's why they've come here first.
Yeah, here you can find the Penny Rubys and good news for the collectors: THE PENNY RUBY IS A BIT REDDER than the juliet's rubys ;)

Diego, the Rubies look goo on you. From straight on they're more red than "Fire". Congrats on the score. I can see the Penny looking more red as it's a smaller lens and the color won't bleed out near the edges as much. And, that promotion is pretty cool that O Brazil is running. Who knows if we'll get that here or it's just you guys. Also, I think everyone that ordered a pair already and is leaning towards unhappy before they even get theirs should stop their bitching and just be happy that they have another chance to get a pair of Ruby X-Metals. Sorry, my opinion on the matter. But it's not like Oakley is going to change their production quality because a few came back.

Strake, the Ruby Juliet (and Penny) have always been more expensive, Vault or no Vault. It's not just this time around.

It is said the rubys are more expensive because it takes 7 iridium baths and have less distortion and better vison. Can somebody say if it's truth??

See can of worms, open can of worms. This is a good question and it has been raised a few times in the past. There seems to be a few conflicting theories circulating. It will depend on who you talk to and who they talked to and so on. I have a feeling some might even say they are more expensive because they are magic.
