...and since it's noon already, I want to work on something that I can finish in a few hours.

Here's what I did...

- Browse thru my collection and found a black beat-up Trenchcoat. Hmmm, this one needs a facelift.

- After disassembling it, I coated it with a rubber base primer.

- then spray the secondary primer

- after the primer dried, it's now time to add the stripes. I used my Bengal Tiger racing jacket as pattern

- I debated what should be the main color. I choose green since I know it doesn't exist with the tiger pattern. Used the airbrush to cover the frame smoothly with paint

- after an hour of drying, I clearcoated it and use the double wide as the curing box. It's cold today since it's raining and the clearcoat should be in a warm environment to have a nice shine when dried.

- Two hours after curing the clearcoat, here's the finish product.

I was going to reply "Holy crap!" until I noticed that was already taken. I'll say it anyway - Holy crap!

That is beyond awesome!

BTW - thanks to your gallery picture, I've been trying really hard to find an X-metal icon beret. ;)

Wow, very cool indeed! Expect Lex to arrive on your doorstep very shortly ;)

I'm probably being a bit dim but can I ask; It looks like you painted the black stripes on first (before applying the green paint) how did you manage to mask them off? Or did you reapply them after the coat of green?

Thanks to all. I'm glad that you like it.

@adam: I'm using transparent paints. This is the reason why I started with a light background, black, then the main color.

@mike: ya, I was thinking about lex when I was making this, trenchcoat & tigers are both his favorites. hope he likes green too.

@eric: the icon was repainted with matt aluminum.

again thanks.

@ken: i have a big project that i planned a few months ago. I only need to find time to do it since it will eat a lot of time to finish it and I can only do it on weekends.

@Justin: maybe a total of two hours labor time. drying and curing the paint makes it longer.

@E C: I wish I am. It's only a hobby. I can draw and paint using charcoal, pencil, or pastel. Trying to learn how to paint using an airbrush at this moment. But the one that I think that provided me the experience is my scale modelling skills making dioramas and painting tanks, airplanes, cars, and figures.
