Damn good case but a word of warning:

PIT BOSS DO NOT FIT!!!!!

Despite Oakley claiming that they do when i emailed them....

You can just about cram 'em in back to front and upside down but the case still wont snap shut

Fantastic bomb proof cases. DO NOT USE FOR X-METALS. They are too wide and although you may be able to squeeze them in, use the soft cases, or splash out and spend USD$200+ to buy the X metal metal vault case. For everything else, these are perfect.

A word of warning. Be careful when shutting the case. Make sure that no part of your sunglasses is sticking out of the case. Also, you have to be careful when putting the sunglasses in. Lead with the arms first. It's possible to accidentally scratch your lenses on the front ridge of the case (which is not protected by felt).

I own this Lrg. Metal, it protects my E Wire 2.0 perfectly with cleaner bag. Great item for sure!

I like it. For the price of the soft vault, you get more protection. With that said, I have two of them, and they haven't left my display case. I use the soft vaults. I prefer a zipper to clicking shut.

A great way to protect your most precious Oakleys. I got mine for $20!

Too bad they don't make round metal vaults for X Metal. The X Metal Vault is too bulky to carry around.

5 Stars!!!

Finally got this online, since my local O-store didn't have them and didn't seem like they'd get one for me. Does its job, easy to get into a backpack (attracts stares if stuck inside the webbing water bottle pouches on the sides, though). But I agree, a couple times when traveling, security pays special attention to it. I doubt I'd use it to make a bomb, though. Too cool to blow up just like that...

These serve that same purpose as the soft vaults but just look better. They are light weight, very strong and will die trying to protect your shades. Could have a bit more padding inside and watch your fingers when closing as it snaps shut.......ouch!

Our precious eye protection need protection themselves inside the perilous world of a backpack. The large Vault keeps your optics safe from breakage and scratches even if the bag gets trampled on by an angry mob thanks to it's solid aluminum construction yet its light enough not to weigh you down. Snapping hinges is more convenient than zippers and tight enough not to open accidentally. But beyond its practical merits lay elegant styling that's unmistakably Oakley. The riveted, unpolished steel capsule makes it look more like a gas tank or an explosive devise if not for the embossed icon logo. The only hitch to the design is that it could look suspicious in security x-rays so keep it in carry-on to prevent unnecessary delays.

It looks cool and does it's job. I wish it has more padding inside. It does roll around a lot while driving but I like it anyway.
TheVault -
My least favorite metal vault, just for the fact that the padding does not imprison the glasses like the square metal vaults one do.

Still looks cool and will do the job, less bulky and heavy then the square ones.

Nice addition to the collection! Too bad it doens't fit all glasses. For X-metals you still have to use the X-metal Vaults. And those are really huge! But for evrey other model this is just fine.

These are really light for being metal. I like to carry my half jackets in them. The cool thing about these is you can fit them in your bag really well because of the circular design.

First thing I noticed when I got this was the heft. The second thing was the weight of the spring in the hinge. If you snap these shut make sure your fingers aren't anywhere near them since they'll surely take the tips off. Big enough to hold the larger frame and yet the shape makes them easy to carry around in my laptop bag. Considering they cost the same as soft vaults, an amazing value.

The Clam shell design is very practical for every day use. Suits most larger frames. Priced really well in comparison to the x-metal Vault. Recommended even if only for display.

Bought these for my Juliets but they don't fit - so they are a great case for my Splice...love the design! very Oakley

Awesome upgrade to the case world from HDO floatable and ballistic cases. Great design, and functionality. It's just so cool I give it the full 5 star rating.
My only complaint would be that I swear I get some funky odor emitting from my vault. Yuk!

A great case, holds 67% of my oakleys (not simultaneously) - it got a bit dented up in my bag, and the hinge is a little misaligned, but i think I can fix it. And regardless, it did its job saving the oakleys within.

Very cool looking case and strong to, not as strong as the normal oakley Vault but stronger than a large soft vault.
it also makes a nice change if all you have are the boring black vaults.
I keep my Polished aluminium twentys in there which I think goes very well together.

I still prefer the zipper Soft Vaults. These things were lethal when one was offered to me, the case 'snaps' shut so you'd better watch your fingers. Is a nice looking case but the padding is a tad thin even though it does the job.

Gets a five for function alone, but the value confirms it. Holds my eyewear no problem at all. I haven't used the box vaults but I don't bother with using the microbag inside of this one.
Still surprised that it doesn't cost any more than the ballistic vaults. Buy the metal ones now before Oakley increases the price. Still, here in Canada it'll cost you $40 +tax which is a lot for a sunglass case - if you need an Oakley one though, this is the best way to go (get the right size!).

I picked up on of these. They are $10-20 cheaper than the box variants. I'm partial to the boxy vaults, but these work just as well and are the same price as the soft vaults. The padding isn't as supporting as the foam in the other vaults, this just sort of has a velvet lining, and the glasses can roll around inside. I recommend always keeping your glasses in the microbag, whereas the boxy vaults you could get away without.

I prefer these bullet-shaped vaults to the rectangular vaults. They are lighter and have rounded edges, so they are easier to carry around, and you will not pinch your hand along the hinge. This vault will hold most medium/large glasses (basically everything except X-Metals and M-Frames). Penny will fit since it is much smaller than the other X-Metals when folded. I use mine to hold one of my Penny's. Most retailers do not carry these for some reason. It took me a while to find them.

it´s nice but if you compare it with the Vault it´s not such a safe case. thats the minus on these....
the positiv is the weight and that this version is cheaper than the original square vault.
cool like all metal cases and easy to handle....

it´s a question of the "religion" which one it´s better or nicer or what ever!
