Frame: Crystal Black
Lens: Black Iridium

Won these in a SGH contest while I worked there. They're great. I love to just throw them on when I'm heading to the beach.

Frame: SI Black
Lens: Grey
I got these as an everyday pair for work (firefighter/fire safety inspector). These are MUCH better than I imagined. Though they lack unobtanium, they perform well. Sporty yet professional. I don't know about wearing them with a suit but that's just me. I like the rimless lens and the ability to swap them out. Very simple frame with the silver O accents. It's basically a watered down flak jacket. Great buy! I use mine for everyday use (driving, walking around). They took the place of my Fives 2.0 (I still have them but will now use them as a backup pair). I don't know how they'd perform in an active, sporty, or hectic environment (I have others pairs for that!) but as a normal use pair, they're great!

Frame: Black Chrome

This is one of those glasses that the frame color makes a huge difference in how they look on a person. The only colors that I like are Black Chrome and Crystal Black. All the others just don't seem right to me. With that said, I like the ones I'm partial to very much. They feel like a much more casual version of the Half Jacket. You could get away with wearing a pair in a suit when a sportier frame would look out of place.

Frame: Polished Rootbeer
Lens: Bronze

I like the fit of these more than the half jackets. These are a bit better for the bigger heads. However, I'm still somewhat bored by the frames and square lenses. While the quality of Oakley is present, I think the design is missing. Still, these get as much use golfing as my M-Frames.

Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized

These are my favorite Oakleys. While they might not be as stylized as some of Oakley's other frames, the sleekness and simplicity of the bottlecaps is what makes them so versatile and enjoyable to own. Because they are a slightly more conservative style, they make a great casual everyday pair of glasses but are also sharp and sporty-looking enough for more demanding activities. They stay on my face great despite the lack of unobtanium on the earstems and nosepiece (although it could be a different story if I wore them running and worked up a sweat-they are still fairly new and I haven't worn them for anything too physically demanding yet). They also do a great job of conforming to my face and the peripheral vision that they provide is superb (one of my chief complaints about some of Oakley's full frame models is lack of peripheral vision). I would definitely reccommend this lens/frame combo...the polarized lenses privide very sharp vision and the black iridium is very slick looking. For the price, this is a great set of shades!

Frame: Brown Tortoise
Lens: Bronze Polarized

Form and function coalesce into a simple, unified form: Bottlecap. While the designers at Oakley chose to omit unobtainium from the frames, the glasses perform surprisingly well. They're lightweight, provide adequate coverage, and seem to stay stationary even during rigorous activity. The Brown Tortoise frame on this pair also looks less "fabricated" than other Brown Tortoise o-matter frames I've seen. Add polarized bronze lenses and you have a great pair of shades.

Frame: Chrystal Black
Lens: Grey rx Transition AR
I bought these on line without having tried the frames first. After all it is one size fits all, but in fact it doesn't really sit as good as my Half Jackets. Less flexible without the earsocks and nosepiece rubber, too. I also made the mistake to order the Transition, which is useless when driving car. The UV filter in the windows prevent the effect in the lenses. Other than that it is great for mixed conditions outisde, on the beach etc.

Frame: Polished White
Lens: Positive Red Iridium

I got this Oakley custom from a guy who knew an Oakley rep. Awesome color combination. They look really sick, especially with the positive red lenses. However, the material for the frames could be a tad thicker/stronger. They fit well and feel relatively comfortable, but I've yet to wear them proper, so only time will tell if they'll hold up.

Frame: Black Chrome
Lens: Titanium Iridium

I love the way the color of the lens and frame compliment each other. They look great and are also very comfortable. I prefer the bottlecap over half or flak jackets becuase it is a similar design, but has a more casual than sporty look to them.

Frame: Polished White
Lens: Ice

I guess this color is exclusive because it is not listed in the catalogue. I have a few HJ lenses and they fit in my Bottlecap great--even better than the Bottlecap lenses themselves. The BC lenses seem to fit a little loose and make rattling noises. I love the way the bottlecap fits, I just wish there was some unobtanium on the nose, so there would be less possibility of slippage when sweating alot. They seem to grip the head fairly well without it. I'm just not sure I like the feel of plastic sitting on my nose. It feels kinda like cheap drugstore sunnies. They look great on almost everyone who tries them on. I'd give them a 4.5 if the lenses didn't rattle and a 5 if they had unobtanium and no lens rattle.

Bottlecap... the name sounds simple, yet functional or even essential. So too are the glasses. Comprised of stricly o-matter, the frames are lightweight and fit rather well despite the fact that they lack both unobtainium earsocks and nosepieces. Add to the equation an interchangeable lens system and you've got a winning combo on your hands (or on your face, as the case may be). Overall, however, I do believe the glasses could have been better had Oakley chosen to include unobtainium.

Frame:Brown tortoise gold icon
Lens:G30 (Lex7 200th pair)

a great OCE pair for the 200 milestone, very light but not as snug and well fitting as the half jacket, i think these are a less sporty alternative to the HJs.

Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Black Iridium Polarized

A solid pair of sunglasses that look pretty good on me, if I do say so myself. They're not too flashy, but they still have that essential Oakley look and feel to them. My only real complaint is that there is no Unobtainium on the nose or ears which makes them seem a bit flimsy and kind of cheap. They look almost identical to the Thump Pros which do have Unobtainium in both areas, so why can't the Bottlecaps have it as well? Still, I do like the glasses and mine continue to serve me well as one of my back-up pairs.

Frame: Black Chrome

WOW what a wake up call! I Allways thought the Bottlecap was to small for me, and a bit on the boring side. I tried this pair on and they looked great - and more importantly they fit perfectly! They are great as an everyday pair, a bit conservative, but still have that Oakley-touch. I am hooked! Definately not my last pair! The Black Chrome has a gold-look to it, which is nice, and the titanium lense looks great in this combo

Definately a nice pair of O's. They're the unsporty brother of the Half Jacket. They're nice to wear around, but definately do no have the atheltic ability of the HJ's. Nice colorways and a nice price point though.

Frame: Polished White
Lens: Amber Black Iridium Polarized

Excellent design. The fit on these are very comfortable. The polished white color goes really well with the amber black lens. I actually prefer using these over my Half Jackets whenever I'm doing anything active. Excellent eye coverage and extremely light weight frame. Its also really nice to know that you can change lenses real fast without any tools.

Light weight, simple design. Might not be something that stands out, but I liked the color options and how easy it is to switch out lenses if I wanted to. Another great everyday pair.

Frame: Black Chrome
Lens: Persimmon Transitions

I know everyone loves the Bottlecap but I never really took to it. It always felt a little cheap to me. I broke down and purchased it when the transitions came out and I was further dissapointed by them. They dont get nearly dark enough in real world light and dont work in cars due to the UV filters in windshields.

Frame: Black Chrome
Lens: Polarized Titanium

For those people that stayed away from Half Jackets because it looked like hell on you then you might want to try this out.I was one of those peeps and when I tried these on I'm hooked.

Now these are made for small to medium size face but to my surprise it fits my large head well.Along with MD's and Splice I could wear these all day without any discomfort.

The frame selections are kinda lame but the Black Chrome is a must have IMHO.

Frame: Brown Tortoise
Lens: Bronze Polarized

Very lightweight as well as offering great eye coverage. The design is really nice. The brown tortoise is always a nice color option for the frame for good everyday use. I'm not a big fan of polarized lenses. These are still great b/c of the different lenses you can pick up to change it up.

Frame: Polished Rootbeer

I like these better than half jackets. The straighter lines look better on my face. Simple design, comfortable, light, and excellent field of vision. Good for times when you want sunglasses, but not your best/expensive ones.

Frame: Polished Black

I didn't think these would have a chance of fitting on me. They actually fit really well. I liked these a lot. I have a very large head and this offered good eye coverage and was also very comfortable.

My first pair of Oakleys. Built to Order. The frame fits well, and is very comforatable. They are not too expensive and have a stylish look. The Titanium Iridium lenses are great for any condition.

Subtle design but very wearable,
No unobtainium so fitting is important.
Need to get B.I polarised in the polished frame, they look very nice
Very light and a pair for the car.

Frame: Polished Black
Lens: Ice Iridium

I do like the Bottlecaps - they fit very well and seem comfortable, plus the ice looks pretty funky, but I'd like to see something as bit more outrageous in terms of the actual design. I mean, both the lenses and frames are all very neat and simple lines, which is good, though something a bit more aggressive would be even better.

Frame: Black Chrome

Nice Lenses! Nice Frame! On pictures they look kinda boring, but when I wear them it feels and looks great. And the gascan-like stems fit mysterously well! I would like to customize my bottlecap, because the Tit. Ir. are great, but the chrome frame is to shiny for me. Whatever, nice shades, good price!

Frame: Black Chrome
Lens: Titanium Iridium

Since I'm a big Half Jacket fan, I figured I should give these a try. They are much less sport-oriented than HJ but still distinctively Oakley in a half-frame style. The square-ish lenses and smooth earstems (as opposed to the thick, Unobtainium-clad "winged" earstems on HJ) make Bottlecap a bit more appealing to a larger customer base. I think my O rep said it best: "it's everything the Half Jacket isn't".

The Black Chrome colorway (initially a Sunglass Hut exclusive) fits a bit tighter than the other styles. Unlike other FMJ-coated frames, the entire Bottlecap frame has a thick layer of FMJ, including the hinges. This prevents the earstems from opening up as wide as the uncoated frames. On my other FMJ glasses, the coating thins out at the hinge so the fit is only minimally affected. Not a big deal, but it may make these less suitable for larger heads.

The only minus for me is the small nose rests. Since I have a flat Asian nose, the frame sits quite close to my face. Folks with larger noses won't have a problem with it.

Wow, what a light frame! Can't go wrong with a Blk/Blk look. This is my first polarized lens from Oakley so I'm still trying to get used to the rainbow like effect that bounces off windshieds & tinted glass.

Initially, I wasn't thrilled with the bottlecap design, since I wasn't a big fan of the half-jackets. But after getting a great deal on ebay, I actually love the style once I got it. They are just a great freakin' pair of eyewear, and have a sort of universally likeable look.
