Well, there's a happy ending to this story. After notifying the seller that the lenses wouldn't fit my silver non-SH frames, they sent me a near-mint dark SH frame for free. I replaced the yellowed nosepads and frayed earsocks, and I now have essentially a new pair of dark/ice square wire 2.0s for about $110 out of pocket!

Fair enough. Looks like the search is back on for replacement lenses.
Has anyone tried Walleva lenses? I see they offer replacements for older frames. Are they pretty good or complete garbage?

Well that sucks. It's annoying that Oakley didn't distinguish that for replacement parts.

Are there different sizes for Square Wire 2.0 replacement lenses? I bought a pair of Ice Iridium lenses new in the box off ebay but can't get them to fit in my frame (Silver non-SH). The frames are circa 2002. Did the Spring Hinged ones have slightly larger lenses?

Thanks, guys. Makes sense. This was my first attempt at buying Oakleys off of eBay, though I use it all the time for old video games (my other vice). Perhaps shooting for a ruby Penny was too bold out of the gate :)

So those of you who've been burned on eBay, do you still shop there? Or is there a better way to get discontinued Oakleys (other than the classifieds here)?

One other interesting note: The guy who sold this shipped the glasses and bag in a bubble mailer. No box. No padding.

I'll probably go with a full refund then. I'm not savvy enough to repair the frame or turn it into a custom.

Well, I got the Pennies in the mail over the weekend from the eBay seller. Very disappointed. The guys definitely did not do a full disclosure on his listing, so I'm going to have to try to get some money back via eBay's Buyer Protection.
Anyone here ever had to go through this process? Any tips?
I thought I was buying Ruby Pennies (with a minor lens defect). What I got was Titanium/Ice Penny frames with shoddy aftermarket red lenses covered in scratches.
The frames were listed as excellent, but are far from it. The right side of the nosebridge/flex coupler is completely loose. The left side appears to be broken and superglued back together.
This experience definitely has me soured on using eBay to buy Oakleys in the future.

I never knew this site existed. I'll have to check it out periodically. Thanks OP!

I just bought a pair of Pennies (Penny's?) and want to get a case for them. I have X-metal soft vaults for my Juliets, but those seem too big for the pennies. Has anyone found a case that works really well?

Thanks guys.
I have a few pairs of Square Wire 2.0s (Platinum/Gold, Silver/Ice, and Dark/Black). I've been debating getting a titanium version (or the T-Wires).

Does anyone know what the difference is between the standard Square Wire 2.0 and the 30mm variant? Does it have something to with the lens size?
Also, are the Titanium Square Wires made out of titanium like the T-wires? Or is it the finish that's considered 'titanium'?

For the first time, I'm thinking of getting a pair of Oakley prescription eyeglasses. I normally stick with Flexon because the memory metal is extremely durable.
Does anyone here no how well Oakleys hold up to abuse (i.e. small kids grabbing at them)? I'm thinking of getting the Transistor Pewter/51.

My wife just went to the Chicago Vault in Aurora. They just received their last shipment of Juliet frames and lenses from the Nevada plant, however, the store employees were told production was moving to France.
Does anyone know why the Nevada plant was closed? Was it due to costs or regulations? I've always thought Europe had tighter regulations for chemicals than the US, so I'm struggling to understand the reason for the move.
The good news is, it sounds like she might have picked me up one last pair of US Juliets for my birthday.

Are x-metals now shipping with cases or is that something unique to the 24k's? I'm digging the gold x-metal emblom on them.

Out of curiosity, what kind of discount do you typically get through usstandardissue? Do you have to be active military, or can someone who's no longer in the service get an account?

$500 or best offer
Serial Number T028228 w/ matching box+coin
Lenses in great shape. Root beer unobtainium. One of the flex couplers is a little loose (was that way when I received it). Buyer pays for shipping.

Are there any current models that use the 24k lenses or has that lens color been discontinued?

Bought a pair of original series Titanium/Gold Juliets on an impulse without telling the wife. On the fence about keeping them.

I've purchased a couple of Sq Wire 2.0 SHs from the Aurora, IL Vault in the past year. Platinum/Gold and Dark/Grey for ~$100 ea.
The cheapest I've ever seen an X-Metal at a Vault was $209 (for Mars and non-Ruby Pennys), but then again it's been a few months since my last trip.

Got the Making History mailer yesterday. Definitely high quality like everything else Oakley does :)

Anyone have a side-by-side comparison shot of the SW 2.0 vs the SW 3.0?
