Mmmmh, I love this watch very much.
I hope that someone will post some pics about the cut and fit of the band...
I contacted oakley directly about this and was sent a guide.
Best customer service.

I will try to post pics, however, yes it is confirmed that the band must be cut as everyone said already.

Although we were aware of this before, that is a real disappointment. There have been times that after adjusting a watch I've decided to add an extra link back later... No room for error on this procedure.

Thanks for sharing, Rev.

Outch!! scissors to an elite item...ahhh what were they thinking??

Great tutorial rev thanks for sharing/posting, probably the only one on the internet to. I am just still shocked how they designed the band. Make sure you don't lift weights or make your wrist grow in any way. It would be wise for Oakley to sell replacement Unobtanium bands for their watched, I would pick up a few If I owned a TBII.

Thank you very much for the pics, Revolution.

I hope Oakley will offer the replacement band if the original owner need one.

If you see no problem, I'll post them on the french forum, because there was a big debate about the band cutting thing.

Thanks for the tutorial Rev.
IMHO this idea of cutting the band is not really "Elite" worth but we have to live with it. I'm still loving the TB II.

I talked to an O Store manager today, and he said if you're paying for a TBII directly from Oakley, you'll get replacement rubber spines free if you ask. This is unofficial of course, and Customer Service may not be as responsive to such request. But it doesn't hurt to try one day.

Sorry to disagree with all of you but the TB11 does absolutely
nothing, nada, zilch for me. It appears too complex for a watch: way too much going on, it reminds me of a flight deck of an aircraft. It is supposed to be a watch after all and display the time, not dazzle like so much Bling!

Style AND substance.

While I respect anyone's opinion of how something looks, I really disagree with the statement that a watch is just to tell time. If it's just functionality, instead of sunglasses, you should just wear a face shield.

Sure, you can wear a plain watch, but this is a piece of art. And like any piece of art, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

You mistook what I meant. I just believe that it detracts the eye from the face of the watch. I too believe in beauty being in the eye of the beholder yet for me the TB was a beautiful design for its simplicity and constuction.

That part is opinion.

It appears too complex for a watch: way too much going on, it reminds me of a flight deck of an aircraft.
Again, that part I'm fine with.

It is supposed to be a watch after all and display the time, not dazzle like so much Bling!
That's the part that I disagree with. Oakley is all about design. It's mad science. It's creating something that you didn't even know you needed. It's making sunglasses that don't touch your ears, but go over the top of your head. It's making a statement. It's about attracting attention. It's the timebomb II.

Again, I totally understand where you're coming from. You don't like the look of it. But that's what Oakley is all about!

To me the TimeBomb represents an almost organic appearance with its beautiful fluid lines, uncomplicated. Whereas the TB11 would appear to have an industrial look with harsh lines. Just my opinion.

Hahaha, Merry Christmas to you too! (I'm not religious, but celebrate Christmas, my wife is Jewish so she doesn't celebrate Christmas, but we exchange gifts)

I understand what you're saying there, but that to me is seperate and different from the initial statement. Heck, when I wear my time bomb, people often comment on it, and they say it's very blingy! :D

I still think the new look is very organic. The way the band can move and flex (due to the unobtanium strap) is really 'living being'like. The plates on top give it a more sophisticated look, but still have a kind of dinosaur feel to it (to me anyways.)

I really like it. I think it shows it's roots, and shows an updated look at the same time.

Racer96, I'm not saying that you or anyone else can like it, just venturing my own opinion. I'm an artist myself and I do appreciate the work and painful thought process that has to be instigated to achieve all their designs but for me the TB11 is just a rehash of a classic design.

I feel that I should explain the reason for my sentences at time being a little 'stillted'. I had a stroke back in 97 and it has affected my 'flow' it times.

No problem at all. My dad had a stroke several years ago as well. It can be difficult.

I know you don't have a problem with anyone else liking it, and I don't have a problem with you disliking it. It's just a matter of semantics.

And we've probably bored everyone else enough in this thread by now! :D

I got a chance to see the TBII in person not too long ago, and I gotta say it's amazing. Personally, I like it more than the original TB despite how oversized it is. The "exloded" design and the way they incorporated wood-like CF into the bezel is really eye-catching.

I think it's the coolest piece in the Elite lineup and were I at all into Oakley watches, I'd be all over it. Great stuff by Oakley.

Paul - appreciate your honesty and review. The things you don't like about it are the things that I think make it amazing.

Very sorry to hear about your stroke but i'm glad you are with us.

I'm a car guy and all the CF, aluminum and such just screams at me - I love it! Industrial bliss!

Seriously, who buys a watch today? Everything else we live on - all our devices - tell time anyway. As stated above - this thing is art beyond reason. Love the idea and concept - I'm in.

Hope everyone had a Cool Yule!

Has the production run of the TBII been officially confirmed as 1,500? There isn't an upper limit etched into the TBII itself or its packaging, but its other Elite brothers (both C6s and the Elite boot) do set production run limits.

I've heard that the TBII will indeed have a production limit of 1500.

Has anyone else heard anything?

So one of my OPDs gives me a call today and says there will be only 908(or maybe he said 988, either way it's an odd number to report) made in the world. He said one of the biggest boys in Oakley HQ told him that. He said there's only 29 left in the warehouse. He also said warrantee parts will be very limited.

All this is not verified by anyone other than my OPD, so take it as you will.
