That DSLR camera like set-up is really awesome.
I'm really wondering what will be the possibilities of the Epic-X as a photo camera ^_^

Considering the 100K that the previous all digital cameras cost, and the fact that a 35mm film rig cost about that in just rental fees, it's a good price for a professional application.

Yeah, and it's $58,000 not $28,000.

When I open the link, about half way down the text, it says $58,000. Could it maybe be converting it to UK exchange rate when you open it? Either way it's a but load of cash, even more so when buying 30 of them. Even for a guy like Peter Jackson that's a hell of an investment! Good business for RED as well...

Oh, I see what happened, you were looking at the still camera. I was looking at the link for the new 3D cinema camera's. It's all good man. Damn! $28k for a freakin' still camera? Must be nice to have that kind of dough...

Not sure wich REd camera is being used, but "College Musical" is being filmed using a Red camera.

I'm big fan of Kurt Schneider and Sam Tsui. They're popular YouTube artists:

I guess even small scale productsion are jumping on the Red wagon.

Kevin Smith's newest movie was shot on Red. He says the camera not only saved them tons of money, but it also allowed him to edit the movie quickly and show a rough cut at the wrap party.

Big couple years for RED in the big-budget movie world:

The Hobbit
Spider-man
Pirates of the Carribean
The Aliens prequal (or is called Prometheus now?).

Wow, pretty casual, scruffy guys opening it up half-hazardly in the living room floor. After seeing that, Dann, I see no reason why you shouldn't have one of your own by year's end.

This is a good friend of mine's web-site...

I've actually been to some of the shoots when they were used. I was in awe of their greatness.

Good site your friend has. I found this interesting:

This type of body/lens set up allows for flexibility in shooting while maintaining a higher image quality than the CANON lenses
So are Red prime lenses better than Canon overall? The debate rages on, but this is also interesting:
