I was wondering, with more and more special microbags coming out (Elite, special edition/artist edition, jawbone, etc.) are you guys going to carry the special microbag with you when you wear them, or are you going to leave that microbag at home and just take a regular one with you?

I read in another thread about someone here that lost their special edition microbag in their car. I'd also worry about "dirtying" up the special one, so I imagine I'll be leaving them at home, and just using regular ones. (Something I already do when I wear the ducati juliets, the ducati microbag stays at home)

What are you guys going to be doing?

It seems like you end up with so many of the standard bags, I don't find it worth bringing out the special designed bags. They stay in the boxes. Or in the display case if that's how you got it set up.

I will say that I've gone ahead and used the red and white bags that used to be special. And the square o brown bags that seemed so special when they first started coming out.

Paul said everything I could have said, would make sense to use the regular black microbags as we have so many of them compared to the special edition ones.

I barely even use the bags that come with standard models. I end up with so many extras I keep them all in their box and have a stack of spares I grab from when running out. As for these really special ones, I hope no one out there us buying glasses just for them, but if oakley started a line of designer bags I may buy just the bags then. Due to, let's say communication errors at SGH, I have actually ended up with a few of the special bags sans glasses (Soviet, Plack Plaid, Desert Camo) and those I keep with a "one of each bag" collection I have going, which would actually be impossible to have them all without spending thousands of dollars.

I have accumulated a bag that weighs 4lbs with nothing but Microbags. That doesn't include the artist ones or any that come with the shades since I leave them in the boxes. I have tons of special edition ones though.

I have all my microbags folded neatly. I exclusively use the free HDO bag that I got during that free offering a little over a year ago. It helps me maintain cataloging in my display case with a personal 'one out at a time' policy. I like the microbags to stay new for the most part, and i 'dust off' the HDO bag frequently .

I keep all of mine stored except a few standard ones that stay in the cases I use. I almost never take a pair out of the house without a case. My most frequently used one is the Electronics Soft Vault, it fits pretty much any frame I have. I have a really nice, thick microfiber that is from a RX shop that I keep in it.

Speaking of microbags, is there a new Bruce Irons bag that comes with his Hijinx? I may be late, but just saw it today. Has his sig, as well as the Hawaiian islands.

Just gonna throw this here...check out the tag on the microbag. An upcoming MB x Oakley collaboration? Probably not, but the thought is cool. The embroidered microbag was just used as a protective sleeve for the scaled model gift for when MB unveiled their Biome concept car.

I didn't want to start a new thread so...

Recently I've been hitting up my Vault's $4 DE Microbags. The majority of them are from collections and signatures. Anyway, point is that I've been entering them into the Database so others can see what's out there to collect. Lately, there's been some awesome examples floating around.

If you all would, if you come across some, take the time to enter them in. I'm trying to build up my bag collection, as I've seen others doing as well, within reason. It gives us collectors something cheap/easy to add to our collections. Thanks.

I grabbed a bunch out in California last summer, but I always give it a browse. Seems like the Jupiter Camo and Aquatique are the most common. The Caia Koopman, I've seen a lot too.

As I keep going to different Vaults, the collection grows a small bit. Added the Summit and Aquatique to the DB.

Easiest thing to do is head over to Home Depot (or equivalient) and pick up a sheet of thin Lexan. Nothing too huge since it will be cut. Here's a 10x8 for about $4 and change.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/LEXAN-10-in-x-8-in-Polycarbonate-Sheet-31-GE-XL-1/202090134

Then a Plastic Sheet cutting tool:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-Plastic-Sheet-Cutting-Tool-GE-41/202038073

and measure out the size of the bags to cut to size. Use pliers with an end cutter to take off the sharp corner, and then some sandpaper to round out the rest so it doesn't snag on the bag.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Channellock-7-1-2-in-Cross-Cutting-Pliers-with-End-Cutter-357/100049589

At this point, I have them resting on the case walls or on boxes. Since the opening is at the top, you can't connect the lexan to anything. Perhaps some sort of grooved flooring might allow you to wedge them into a slot.

I also noticed that if you go a signature edition on oakley.com, it shows what bag will come with it. Helpful to figure out what all these loose DE bags are from. Also if you view the page source, the image file has the SKU, which I believe can't be used to outright buy them, but helpful for the DB here. I've entered what I found, so you can add them to your collection by colorway, or use the default 1-651 SKU if it's not listed.
