Day 3 - Friday, March 20
10:14pm PST
And the first official day of the Co-Pilot event comes to a close. Oakley had a lot planned for us and it all went off without a hitch.
After lunch on the helipad, they moved us back up into the lobby and broke us up into groups for the tour. Dawn and I were in seperate groups, but I was lucky enough to get paired with several O-R members, including Dann and Phil. Apparently, each group was given a model name. Go figure that our group was the "Elite Team!"
We got to see R&D, marketing, the Rx department (where they gave each of us a complimentary Scar) and engineering. I think one of the coolest things we saw was a demonstration of the ANSI test, up-close and personal!
Around the middle of the tour, we ended back up in the lobby at the OCE bar where a group of people were all setup to create each of us a custom Flak Jacket. They even engraved each pair with "Co-Pilot 09" on the lens!
We went back to the tour which had us walking through the Oakley museum where we saw quite a few awesome pieces from old to new. Eyewear, grips, ads and the highlight of the day for me - the actual Penny and Juliet used by James Marsden in the X-Men movies! I could barely pull myself away from them.
Afterwards, they had us back in the lobby where we had a good hour to purchase some goods at some great discounts. Oakley...offering us discounts!
They rounded off the day with a really cool RC race with some very rare Holeshots as prizes, a bonfire, food and booze and yet more free gear.
It's still completely unreal to me. And tomorrow is paintball! Can't wait! Rick's ass is toast!
