Hi everyone! My name is Jeremy and I am new to the site. I have been collecting Oakley products for a few years now and I need a little bit of advice. I would like to purchase a pair of Oakleys for my wife and was trying to decide on what to get her.... right now I am leaning on a pair of the squares. She is a slim girl, with a slim face so I need something on the smaller side. Just wondering what you guys thought.

Have you considered O-Matter? Unfortunately the newer ladies line may be too big in this case, but a good OPD may still have Fate or Halyon - which are excellent for smaller, slimer faces. Even the Minute or Five 3.0. There are nice colors of each floating aorund out there yet so you can find a choice besides black on them all.

And seeing you're in MI, I think there is a Vault nearby that a few of our MI members shop at and they will def have some harder to locate styles like the Fate, Halyon, Four S and possibly an assorment of Rx frames with sunny lenses in them that may have more class and style than the traditional O wires.

Phil gave a good suggestion there... have you been to the Vault at Great Lakes Crossing? It's been a while since I've visited myself, but they tend to have a good selection of old and current styles that you can browse.

maybe a script or if u really like wires then I suggest a crosshair. Or u could just take her shopping with u so she wont be disappointed incase u get her a style she doesnt like. Remember, if u disappoint her, she might wanna limit or nag on ur Oakley spending in the future :-D

Agree that Fate and Halo are great suggestions. The other top pairs my wife enjoys would be the Why 8, or 05 wire if you can find it.

Go to that Vault (thanks for confirming Eddy) and get her 3 pair for the price of one. I bet she'll love that.

Thanks everyone. I have the day off tomorrow so I will take a ride out there and see what they have. I have been there a few times and always leave with something... On that note, they are opening a O store at twelve oaks in Sept for those who don't like to drive 60 minutes when ever you need a fix lol.

Ha! When Bong and I want some Vault action we have to ride 7 hours to Mass. Ugh. If it's like the selection that the 2 other Vaults I've been to had you should do well with the styles we all mentioned.

Keep in mind that the large frames are often intended for smaller faces. This is the "in" thing right now. My wife has a small face and she loves the Scripts. She also wears Dartboards and Haylons, but wears her Scripts 90% of the time.

And this is true, but with so many younger, smaller girls looking for what's fashionable you do need to let them know that what's BIG for a medium face can be too big for them. Most gals when they come into my store will realize a Prada or Versace is dwarfing them and looking ridiculous but they still desire that look so think medium styles that will look large on their face without cartooning them. Even Script and Grapevive can look quite large. Your judgement will be the best though when you start comparing styles.

ha! and we went there twice within a few months! people in the office were asking me, "so you went to Massachusettes for the weekend, did you go to Boston?" "umm... nope, i went to an Oakley outlet store called Oakley Vault!"

anyway, i'll also recommend Haylon and Fate, even Teaspoon. hopefully they'll be available at the Vaults. i thought the old Women's frames were really nice, and all the the new ones are just big for fashion's sake. that said, i like the looks of Dart, and Dartboard works well with female faces.

for a small female face maybe Square Wire 2.0 or A Wire would work?

My gf loves her Crosshair S and the Fives 3.0 in BS/Bronze.
I also like the small why 8.0 or 8.2 on females!

She seems to like the fives 3.0 , I think I may go with those.... or just let her pick them out lol.

I brought mine to an OPD and let her pick one out, and she skipped all the women's frames and ended up with a Black/Black Unknown. I would have never known.

I don't know if it helps, but my face is rather slim too and I wear the A-Wire. The size is OK, but I think the frame color is very significant. The light colored would probably look bigger, while dark frames smaller.
Maybe the same glasses would have different overall look if they completely different colors.

My gf likes the Dartboard =)

I say Crosshair S but don't rule out the Crosshair either, That frame looks good on so many types of faces. A Wire's a good pick & definitely keep an eye out for the Four S. I think that looks pretty sexy on women

My girlfriend looks great in my Juliets, so dont rule those out either.

Here's the best scenario...she ends up like me and I was given the opportunity like you're giving to her..."go, be free, pick one and I'll buy it."
