Definitely returns. Every one I've seen sold after the first batch looked like a return. Makes me wonder who buys them and returns them lol

Yeah that’s what I figured, the frame oxidizes over time...

Looks authentic to me. From the fakes i have seen, the tip of the earstem is curved outward. Check the earstem for some numbers.. Cant see from your photos if there are..

So no serial on mine. My understanding is that Gens 1-3 had serial numbers on the left inside arm. 4th Gen had no markings. 5th Gen had SKU’s marked on them.

The discoloration was mainly Gen 1 & 2 (the classifications of Generations is another topic), and after that, they started sealing them better. It had the unfortunate side effect of making all the frames look like variations of grey, but they at least held up better.

There was a period staring in 2004/2005 where Juliets (and the other X-metals) went without any etchings on the frames after the discontinuation of serial numbers. Later on after Lux took over, sizing info and the parts numbers started being etched since it was a common Lux practice as well as an industry standard.

The initial X-metal Plasma coatings were nickel plated, which is why they tend to rub off with body oils and assorted beauty product chemicals. Eventually that moved to Zirconium PVD which was a much hardier finish.

It's been awhile since I've bought anything but when I saw Oakley added the Celeste color option for the Custom Frogskins I had to get a pair! I paired them with Chrome Iridium as I wanted something alittle different but still nothing that wouldn't over power the frame color and I think they turned out awesome! I just wish they'd of called the frame color what they did in the Tour de France...Phantom of the Aqua...but that won't stop me from calling it that ;)
