Yeah, I saw that part with Venom yesterday. People were really analyzing the trailer and saw that black web was used. So there is a lot of speculation of a Venom-Spidey square off. DUDE, ITS GONNA BE SICK!
I went to the World Premiere of Casino Royale in Leicester Square tonight. Stood in the crowd with everyone else. I saw Daniel Craig and Eva Green, as well as Elton John, Guy Ritchie, Richard Branson. Paris Hilton was there but I didn't see her.
They've been all over the net and pulled just as fast.
I did however, find a website that had an animated GIF of the last scene and I must say...even though it's supposedly a rough cut I think it's looking awesome!
Did anyone see Jack Black & Kyle Gass on Conan last night? They showed a clip when JB meets Kyls on Venice beach & there in the background is some great shots of a beach walk Stretchline dealer tent
Agreed. Casino Royale was a great movie. I was one who was skeptical about Craig, but the script and the plot worked in his favour, so he did an amazing job as a result. However, had they not decided to bring 007 back to his literary roots and go with the typical fare, he may not done so well. Or he may surprise everyone like he did in Casino Royale.
Craig isn't as refined, suave, cool, or as good looking as all the other actors who played Bond, but that made him fit the action better, which was more visceral than any Bond film yet. Everyone says they producers wanted to compete with the Bourne movies, and it showed.....they humanized Bond more than usual and showed him to be more fallible than ever before (which makes sense since this is his first 00 adventure), all of which is reminiscent of Bourne's character in his films. This results in more characterization and noticeably less action, which is fine by me. Oh, and the dialogue was a lot of fun this time around.
One of the draws of a Bond film is the product placements, some of which are so obvious that it becomes cheesy. They made a huge attempt to avoid that this time around. Indeed, there were noticeably less obvious product placements (the most prominent being Sony's gadgets and the ever loveable Aston Martin), but there were still tons of them. Brands like Bollinger and Omega got a good word in such that they had a spot in Bond's dialogue. Ingenious; serves the story and makes the placement respectable. My favourite line in the movie would have any Rolex fan up in arms. Made the whole movie for me.
Some say it was too long at nearly 2 and a half hours. I thought it was fine. The only drawback of the movie was the sudden introduction of new characters and a subplot at the end. Didn't fit the flow too well, but it was done well enough that it wasn't that much of a bother.
I give the movie 9.5/10. Martin Campbell directed Brosnan's intro as Bond and did a good job. He's now directed Craig and has done a good job as well. I hope they keep him on as a director for a few more movies.
Now that Remington Steele is no longer in the picture, and based on the thumbs up review given by Oak, I look forward to seeing this flick. BTW, my middle name is Bond. No shit.
Rick , that's freakin'cool man !
i see this occur on many many occassions ;
-Rick walks into a building for the first time -
the guy at the counter looks up from his computer, and looks at this person standing there , and asks "can i help you mr.?and of course, rick would say ;" the name is Bond, Rick Bond, also known as The Doctor, or Mr, Juliet.....
