Well we finally got there. Sort of cool how even the login count ended up too.

I'd like to thank those who have been with the site since the start, and those who have continued to contribute over the years. It seemed like we hit our stride about 5 years in, and things sort of slowed down over the next few. With Facebook and the many social media outlets, the communities are scattered around a lot more these days, but we still get the loyal few who keep this place going.

There's been so many moments over the past decade, that I wish I were more organized and prepared to make this Anniversary count a bit more, but I have a few things planned that should hopefully be fun. I should have a giveaway in the next week or so, and something a bit larger that I can announce once a little more planning happens.

So I'll leave it up to you now, what was a memorable moment from the last 10 years...

Well done and congrats! Before the OR, we were just a rag tag group of collectors contacting each other through e-mail and eBay. Because of the OR, we're organized and knowledgeable about all facets of Oakley and collecting its products. I must admit, I never thought Oakley collecting would get this far: I didn't think there were a lot out of crazies out there that enjoyed the products as much as I did. For everyone that contributed to making the community what it is, I thank you.

Here's to 10 years of the OR, the first and best community for the high end collector.

I have to agree with Oak about not thinking there were others out there. I love the OR and thank you guys for making it what it is today.

Must be some strong chilli pepper....

Since i started to get into Oakley, i didn't think i would fit in here. Even when i got more of the footwear range, i thought i was a queer. But its a damn great site. I'm glad i'm apart of it.

ahhh I remember it like it was yesterday. Sent Dann an email to ask if i could join his cool site (was too dumb to work out how to sign up myself) in the early days it was a few of us random crazy collectors and a load of Dann's childhood friends and relations. Now look at us! Thanks to all the contributing members but most of all to Dann whos insane work ethic has made the site the information powerhouse it is!

onward and upwards to the big 25years. when we can celebrate the romeo 7 being released.

I think I was a fan of Oakley for about 10 years before finding the o-r nearly 10 years ago. I recall i had about 40 pairs at the time. So 40 pairs in the first 10'years, and ... well, a few more pairs in the following 10 years after finding the Review.

Such a great group of people, and truly amazing how a shared passion can create friendships, cooperation, and a community of incredibly good looking people. :) Continued thanks to Dann and the others behind the curtain. My participation here is always something I am proud of, and look forward to catching up on the o-r on a daily basis.

Ah I remember. Was just in my first house and we didn't have cable yet. Wife never had internet, and didn't see a need. I found an old dialup connection host at work and would connect to it to check e-mail. Was exciting to check email each night and see who was using the site.

Congrats Dann! I enjoyed meeting you at RED because you're such a genuine person.
To the point though, yeah getting access was difficult back in the day but the content was always there. Without the content I'd be lost in collecting, there's so much here and it's so organized.
Great job and I'm looking forward to posting in the 20th Anniversary thread!

So I'll leave it up to you now, what was a memorable moment from the last 10 years...

I missed this question. I guess the most memorable moment for the OR as a whole IMO was the arrival of JJ to the forum the first time around. It was was before the sale to Lux, so it was great to see his opinion on things before he went and focused on Red Digital.

On a personal front, my biggest memories involve meeting a number of collectors over the years, both face-to-face and via the forum/PM. I've gained some amazing friendships that have carried on through the years, even though some of these friends have given up Oakley collecting. It is also through these friendships that I've been able to build my collection. I don't think many collectors are able to build a solid collection without the help of their peers, and I'm glad I've been able to both help and get help from many amazing collectors.

The grand majority of what I know of Oakley, I only know because of OR. Thanks for keeping the site going Dann, happy 10th to the OR!

Big thanks to Dann and all the other great people who kept/keep this place alive. If it weren't for you all I'd probably be wearing 2 for $20 gas station glasses, lol. Not really. This place is and will always be my #1 spot for all things oakley. My fellow enthusiasts here are always on top of things. I enjoy contributing myself to help keep this place going strong. Good Job all. Keep it going another 10 ;)

Congrats Dann, I have to say that the O-Review made my collection to what it is now. And without the O-R, I would have never gotten into the business that I am now.

A lot of my knowledge comes from the O-R and of course the atmosphere here is always very good. Something that many forums can learn from.

I am really a new Oakley collector ( start 2012 ), but has been a pleasant experience to lay eyes on that way. Thanks to Dann and all the ancestors who pioneered the idea of starting OR. Again thanks a lot, as would have been impossible without you having now this database that helps keep alive the history of Oakley from its beginnings to the present day. God bless OR and continue for much longer.....10th+10th+10th.......

Yep, the opportunity to become part of this site has changed my life and my collection. Highlight for sure would be the chance to connect and meet with folks with the same passion and desire for Oakley. Here's to another ten years....

Happy 10th OR!!! <./insert_cake_with_0xA_candles>

Without this place I'd be a bit more 'lost', no doubt. I would certainly not be as confident in my understanding, ability to collect, and perhaps most importantly contribute and share. Without that confidence, resources such as OR (as I browsed anonymously for years until signing up relatively recently)... without those pieces the puzzle would still be less complete than more. What would be the point?

// Thank You //

And I remember those days: "...never had internet, and didn't see a need. I found an old dialup connection host at work and would connect to it to check e-mail. Was exciting to check email each night and see who was using the site." - not this site, but earlier on I had a few of my own that I feel the same way about. It seems so long ago now but was it really?

I have to say that when I first discovered this site, it was like the best thing ever! I was on it 50-60% of the time at work and 40-70% of my time at home. I really enjoyed meeting fellow Oakley collectors that I wasn't really sure if they really existed but I am sure they were around because somebody was outbidding me on eBay! I sacrificed sleep a lot for the pure passion of being in this site enjoying Oakley. I wholeheartedly want to thank Dann once again for creating this site and for the fellow members who made this place an O-sanctuary. This site truly proved that I wasn't crazy and wasn't the only one collecting catalogs back in the early days(Phil and Lake. Although I haven't been here much, O-review has definitely carved a place in my heart permanently...ooh that's deep! Happy 10th Anniversary!!!
