They look pretty decent. I’ll live vicariously through those of you who buy one.

I can't fault them for trying. I mean, I guess it does kinda make sense on paper so good luck to them.

Still, I can't help but to think how funny and ironic it would be if it turns out these three frames would have the LEAST amount of replacement parts available, since only ONE company would probably make them. Either that, or ALL their competitors end up making replacement parts for these, and Revant finds they don't make enough profit to justify continuing to make the frames themselves.

That would be a little poetic justice. Nothing against Revant. I just find it amusing is all.

When the site went down last year, the president of Revant reached out to me, to see if he could help in any way. Nice guy, so I'll wish them well. Walleva replacements for a Revant frame would be surreal though.

RB’s version of all carbon fiber for $503. Not exactly the C6 or Carbon Prime, but good enough for its price point:

Rigards is another brand that’s come into view for me. They make some “mad scientist”-style eyewear out of exotic materials such as genuine horn, copper, wood, aluminum/magnesium and sterling silver:

That's cool! Could fit between my Parasite and Vuarnet!

Love the first pair for sure! What do those run Oak - $900?

We are this much closer to 3D printed fake X-Metal glasses.

Now if Oakley could follow this path and get the titanium back at the top of the eyewear line, that would be a nice move.

I like those!

It's scary that fake X-Metals could soon be possible.

For a reasonable price point. I wouldn't want them to come back and have them be $600.

Don't worry, 3D printed full-framed titanium will be way more than $600 under Luxottica. :-D

I could vision it now.....3-D x-metal titanium frames coming. I picked up a x-metal tank top at the local vault last week with the x-metal symbol on it. Also available were x-metal tees and a backpack with the x-metal symbol on it. Could these be hints as to what is coming down the pipe?

Since it was at a Vault could these be the tees that were released around the holidays a few years back? Although I don't remember a backpack with the X-Metal logo on it from back then. Do you have any photos loup?

The x-metal symbol is on the back. It also available in black, and a taupe color. The backpack was a simple backpack with the -metal symbol on it. The x-metal symbol is also available in tees, same colors as best as I can remember.

I would be shocked if it hinted at something. I think they want to sell some shirts and backpacks.

I hope they just let the X-metal line die. I don't think Oakley can ever meet collectors' unreasonably high expectations of it (which is ironic since X-metals carry the most quality problems).

Hey Dan, I know of the x-metal tees that you are talking about from a few years ago. I have one of each as well. They are not the same. I have photos of the tees from 2015 in my collection, in apparel if you want to refresh your memory.

Agreed Oak, leave the x-metal line remain as it is. But you never know, with this new 3-d printing, it could happen and the cost for Oakley would be much lower to fabricate, compared to the old converted golf manufacturing plant of casting metal vs 3d printing.
