He called them POGs after the popularity at the time of those.

How do I reach out to the Oakley SI folks? I have a user name and password on the Oakley SI commercial website. Do you mean to contact on that site and ask? Or is there some other phone number etc?

Contacted by email . . . will give them a call later today. The website says they are open at 0830 EST . . . but they are on the west coast, so that would be pretty early for someone working in Cali.

I got these two 5 coins today. As I understand it silver is the norm but the silver ones usually have the date numerals and OAKLEY FIVE on it like the gold one. As you can see my silver one has the 5 values on it. Does anyone know where this one came from? Does anyone know where the gold one came from?

I know this is old but wanted answer anyway. The sliver one with the 5 values printed on it is the one that came with all the teachers additions of the O5 that I ever saw. The Silver with the roman numerals was given to just about every employee at the time of the O5 launch, and probably more after the fact.

The gold is a 5 year work anniversary coin, at least now. Maybe it was something else before that and it got repurposed. There are different
coins for millstone anniversary dates, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25. At 15 years there is also a case to hold them all.

Beautiful stuff. Thanks for the pics, Defenderoftheo! Do you know what the graphic is on the back of the 20 and 25 year coins?

Now that is something you won’t see every day.

My curiosity is raised to see the back of the Oakley “10” “15” “20” and “25” coins.

I am guessing the artist of all the coins is the Twentyfive year employment coin. First, not a lot got them and second who would ever sell them?

I think its"

5 years = Grip
10 years = Eyeshade
15 years = OTT

I haven't seen the 20 and 25 year ones yet.

I love to see how Peter has been really active on sharing about Oakley lately.
Still not sure about the motivation behind, but good to learn insider information anyway.

I wish he would have started sharing on O-Review, rather than FB and IG, where the information tends to get lost after a few days.
