They're pretty high right now being $1-3k within a day if bidding. It'll certainly beat out my guess of what they'll end up at. Good for Oakley and its charity. Don't know why they skipped out last year, but I always look forward to these summer auctions.
Considering the winner, seems to imply no one else really stood a chance. Taking all of those BR winnings, I thinks its hard to imagine the winner as an opportunistic flipper. I would love to eventually learn more.
Yeah that dude dropped some serious money. Hell if I had it I would of too. Don't blame him. But holy shit... would love to see pictures of those displays.
The OTTs were decent, but not nearly enough for me to bid that kind of coin. And there was no way I was going to bid on any watch with a rubber strap - especially the Gearbox.
I'm just glad the kits didn't include full titanium band Time Tanks... or I guarantee I would have given that dude a real run for his money...
I had a nice Citizen dive watch for a few years (many years ago) - reinforced rubber strap - THICK rubber strap. Eventually it just tore, and that was really frustrating... Don't want to have to go through that again! :)
They started the auctions out at $1 and then pulled them. Relisted them with the high opening bids.... Dunno, maybe it will work, maybe not. I figured since it was for charity the $1 opening bid was a good idea.
