Well I could cross post this into the Vacation thread as well. It all stems from the every present question. Which glasses do I take on vacation? It was easy to narrow down to 2 pairs of assault boots (1 tan and one black match just about anything) but narrowing down the glasses?! Its a struggle every day to decide what to wear!

Wow, that's the first I've heard of a Sunglass Hut having Pit Bosses. Still usually if they have them they won't keep them out on display, they get ripped off too often. I find that my local Hut (2 doors down from the Vault) has a lot of stuff but very little out on the shelves. You have to come in really looking and be presented with the options of the higher end glasses.

The other day they saw what I was looking at and wearing (not to mention my whole family with me in O's) and pulled out some X-Squared's that were hidden away. They are one of the most awesome styles right now...get them out!!

When you see fakes on eBay, go to the right side and there is a button that says "Report Item" Within that you can select "Counterfeit and Copyright violations" then "Potential Trademark Infringement" and then "Counterfeit Clothing, Shoes, Sunglasses, and other Items"

Then you get a box that lets you put in a short bit of text about them. I usually put in something that helps identify it as a fake. If you do that with a couple days left on the auction it tends to get pulled. Less than that and it'll usually go to completion but the purchaser has an opportunity to be notified it was a fake.

Thanks! It worked out very well for me. I know that there were Oakley briefcases that were made at some point but I haven't seen one anywhere but on the Pics You May Not Have Seen thread. So I had to come up with something of my own.

I chose this particular case because it was aluminum and I could find one on the shelf. I'd really like to have one about 2" thicker so I can put boxes/vaults/etc and stuff in one layer and then glasses in another. But...this'll do nicely ;-)

Go to gearburger.com and setup an alert on steepandcheap. They have been posting Oakley stuff very regularly and suddenly have been doing a LOT of glasses again. Especially Monster Pups, Half X, and Half Wires over the last week or so.

The last monster pups to be up (this afternoon) they finished with something like 45 pairs left so they will come back around again. They had Matte Black w/gray lenses and Polished black/black iridium both up for $44.99.

So I had a trip planned over Christmas where I wanted to take several pairs of Oakleys. I also wanted to bring along a few of my for sale items so I could list them at craigslist there.

So I decided to go grab a pistol case from Bass Pro Shops and convert it into a glasses carry case. I took off the big Red Head Logo and added in some Oakley logos from the Vault right around the corner at the mall. Then cut the foam to fit the glasses.

I think I might get another piece of foam someday and try to actually hot wire cut it next time. But it is doing the job just great!

That is an awesome display!

I went through the whole process of getting someone to go to the store and take someone with her and go get that display only to find out that it wasn't valid ONLY in Houston! I should have come back and read the forum here before arranging all of that ;-).

Well I guess I'll be paying the full price when I get a chance.

Of course they are available at the store by my house but I'm in Oklahoma visiting family! I'm gonna have to find someone to cash in a favor and go pick one up for me tomorrow. Looks like this item is like a craigslist item. In person only ;-). Cannot be ordered on the website.

Dude I love the site! I can admire the web design as much as the Oakley passions. My latest/coolest site is my web design company at http://zAAngmedia.com. For the first time I think I can say that I have a company with a decent site. Usually I work on everyone else's and never get around to building my own. But if I'm going to do web design for folks, I figure I need to build one for myself.

Dude, I'd go with the whole Red Shift theme on the Skidsteer then too! It would be totally sick!

At our nearby outlet mall there is a Sunglass Icon (which is apparently some version of a Sunglass Hut). They were having a buy one/get one sale on clearance glasses over the weekend. I picked up a couple pairs of Pewter/Red Iridium Ti Whiskers, a Flying Tigers Gascan, and a Cinder Red Speechless. Hard to resist 50% off clearance prices!

Rockin the Whiskers today even though there is no sun out. Too cool not to wear them!

Looks like they ended the sale on the men's eyewear already or something. They only have women's eyewear on sale now.

I just noticed that 6pm.com put a huge amount of Oakley's on sale today. They were down to just having 3-4 items on sale the last couple weeks but today it went bonkers!

Check the link at http://is.gd/5dqAI and that is just for the 76 items they have listed as men's!

Some nice ones in there that are very tempting.

A minute machine at $248! Awesome deal!

Yeah, its great to see all the rare stuff show up.

I have managed to pick up some Red Shift Gascans and a pair of 6" black assault boots. I love these boots, I wear a pair nearly every day it seems. Unfortunately, the guy with the Red Shifts didn't have the original bag that went with them...so I'm watching for one to show up (unless someone here has one to spare?!)

you get deeply depressed over the fact that the forecast for the next several days is full of cold gloomy weather and you can't wear the new pair you JUST got. :(
This JUST happened to me! It rained and was cloudy for a week after I got the Pit Bosses! Finally got some good time with them the last 2 days. But DST is still killing me! Its dark when I head out at 5:30!!

This tells me that I need to put the X Squared on the short list. I cannot wear Juliets very well because they are too small in height. I need glasses that are pretty tall yet narrow. My Oil Rigs have been my favorite for a long time because they fit so well but I long for some X-metal!

I have to make a trip nearby the O store this afternoon to meet some buddies for a beer...perhaps a stop on the way. Judgement may be impaired on the way back ;-).

Fuente's Opus X. I have three on their way to me now. They'll sit in my humi until I forget about them, only to be retrieved many years down the road for a smoke hopefully as good as I have imagined.
Dan I'll have to tell you that they ARE as good as declared. I used to do a lot of international travel so I was able to get my hands on everything we have here plus Cuban's. I still think the Opus X is the best I've had.

I also noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference in price depending on where you guy them. My first one was here in Houston and it was something like $35. The second was over in Florida at the Cigar shop at Disneyworld and I think it was only $15! And at a Disney place no less! The third one was at the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix and that was a ridiculous $75! Fortunately, someone else's company was buying otherwise I would have missed that last one!

But for your everyday (though I only smoke one ever month not every day) I usually go for the Rocky Patel Vintage 1992's. But I just ran across a guy that rolls and makes cigars here in Houston. I think his most expensive thing is $10 and most of them are $5. You aren't going through any middle-men. Its great to have a cigar that hasn't even been in the humidor yet! Grab one fresh rolled and cut it right then! Great stuff. His website is http://cigarshoyodecuba.com/

What is weird about this to me is that I couldn't find a single place in Tokyo that sold sunglasses! I spent a couple weeks there and after a couple days I realized that I couldn't find any sunglasses as I shopped around. Then I noticed that NO ONE else was wearing sunglasses.

I asked someone about why I never found sunglasses who mentioned that only the Gangsters wore sunglasses. Oh...that explains a lot! So here I am 6'3" 260lb linebacker looking guy running around in a full length leather duster and a different pair of sunglasses every day walking the streets in Tokyo apparently giving the impression of a gangster ;-).

No wonder I had lots of the callgirls and bouncers trying to get me to come into all their bars wherever I went. I was completely dressed in gangster attire in Japan! I was just twice the size of any of the locals!

I still never found a single pair of sunglasses for sale :-)

Wohoo! My Pit Bosses arrived today! These are awesome!

Propwash let me try his pair on a few months ago and I loved them. In the meantime I chanced upon a couple random different models with VR28 lenses and realized how much I love the VR28. So its the Black/Gunmetal/VR28 combo.

Saw that on their twitter feed earlier today and got signed up! I actually don't have a pair of gascans right now. Keep buying and selling stuff. I hate driving in gascans but I love how they look. Need another pair...a free pair would be even better ;-).

Well the Ducati Spot became a dealer in order to get the group buy thing going. Basically they ordered up 25 pairs to get started and sold them to everyone at the wholesale price. Then they started selling to members at a discount after that.

Check the thread at http://www.ducati848.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17533.

Maybe somehow O-Review can become a dealer??

So I watch the Craigslists wherever I have family or close enough friends that I can get to go pick up O stuff for me. Recently up in Dallas I came across a pair of fake Gascans for sale.

I contacted the seller and let him know that they were fakes just in case he got ripped off somewhere. He responded back with a simple, yeah, want some? I replied back that I thought perhaps he might want to amend his listing to let people know that they were not real but were copies. He simply laughed at me through email.

I hate to see people get ahold of copies thinking they are real. Especially from douchebags like this that knowing are selling fakes without letting people know. Its one thing to have fakes and sell them as fakes or as Oakley styled glasses (which is still wrong). But he is selling these glasses at $65 a pair and not telling people they are fakes!

Knowingly misrepresenting items on Craigslist is a violation of their T's and C's. If you get a chance to go flag his ad, please do so. Its at: http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/clo/1458510363.html and you can flag it as Prohibited.

Thanx!
