Let us know what you smoked and how they are. Wish they had a place like that in our neck of the woods - sounds very cool.

Had a great time. Found out as I got there, that I got a handful of cigars with the purchase of a ticket. I had bought a Dunhill and a serialized Padron for me and my dad to smoke, but I kept the Dunhill in my travel humidor for our trip up to Boston this weekend.
The Padron was excellent. By far one of the best cigars I've had. Box-pressed as usual, it burnt extremely even, with pleeeeenty of smoke. I then had a store blend the owner created himself. He claimed it was stronger than his typical blend, but I thought it was smoother in general than his other stuff. Nice dark leathery wrapper with some very creamy smoke. Their drink pairings were pretty good...except the Port we had wasn't quite to my liking. It was a lighter Port, and I'm a big fan of very DARK Ports.

Very cool. I have not had a Dunhill for a while and the Padron sounds interesting. Smoked a nice Cohiba the other night with the wife out on the patio - always a nice smoke.

Had my first cigars out at the Co-Pilot event, courtesy of Phil. And then again with Nik when Dawn and I met up with him and his wife this past August. I never used to like them, however I've come to realize that it's all in the company you have with you at the time. It definitely is a celebratory thing for me, but more like a celebration of friends. I can't even begin to think of smoking one here at home. O-R meetups only, for me.

At first I refused to smoke them. My buddy had some at his wedding reception, so I tried one, and have been hooked since. I use it as a method of relaxation. You're nearly forced to sit and relax and enjoy it when you have the time.
That being said, I went out and bought 15 sticks for this weekend as I'm heading out to the Lynx with some friends tomorrow and Sunday. I'm hoping to have some left over so my Dunhill's won't be so lonely on my trip up to Boston. :)
There are so many variations, whether its the shape, the size, the wrapper, the filler...it's become another hobby of mine. Collecting and aging fine cigars is almost as addictive as collecting these fine shades that have brought us all together!

heading up to Max's Tavern for another cigar dinner Wednesday night.
I can't wait to see what they're going to give out as goody bags!

as an added bonus, a buddy of mine who I recently found out was in to cigars as well, brought me a cuban R&J he got on a trip to England last year. It's a bit dry, so it'll be a challenge to bring it back to life before smoking. hopefully it's not a lost cause!

Fuente's Opus X. I have three on their way to me now. They'll sit in my humi until I forget about them, only to be retrieved many years down the road for a smoke hopefully as good as I have imagined.
Dan I'll have to tell you that they ARE as good as declared. I used to do a lot of international travel so I was able to get my hands on everything we have here plus Cuban's. I still think the Opus X is the best I've had.

I also noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference in price depending on where you guy them. My first one was here in Houston and it was something like $35. The second was over in Florida at the Cigar shop at Disneyworld and I think it was only $15! And at a Disney place no less! The third one was at the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix and that was a ridiculous $75! Fortunately, someone else's company was buying otherwise I would have missed that last one!

But for your everyday (though I only smoke one ever month not every day) I usually go for the Rocky Patel Vintage 1992's. But I just ran across a guy that rolls and makes cigars here in Houston. I think his most expensive thing is $10 and most of them are $5. You aren't going through any middle-men. Its great to have a cigar that hasn't even been in the humidor yet! Grab one fresh rolled and cut it right then! Great stuff. His website is http://cigarshoyodecuba.com/

I have been getting into cigars a lot lately, yet another addictive hobby :^) I have been trying lots of different stuff to figure out what I like. I too like the Rocky Patel 1992 and just about anything else I've tried by Rocky so far. In the last 6 weeks or so I've accumulated 140 sticks or so. The cigar collecting and enjoying bug has bit me hard and I'm finding it is going much like my early Oakley collecting. I'll hit it hard for a while till I have learned a lot, then relax a bit and just enjoy it and go with the flow. I love to just relax with a good stick and let my worries float away for a while, it's nice :^)

Still can't stand cigarette smoke...

at this very moment I have a Davidoff No.2 sitting on my table bought from Cardiffs famous "Bear Shop" ( http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/tm_headline=is-this-the-end-of-the-bear-shop-&method=full&objectid=19071303&siteid=50082-name_page.html )

"made by hand in the Dominican Republic"...and soon accompanied by a glass of old No7 on the rocks.

I don't indulge like this often..but it's my birthday so why not? lol
