Probably the coolest Iron Man helmet prop on the market right now. The mechanical features and voice-activated functions are amazing. There’s a 4-5 month wait for it to be manufactured and then shipped once you place your order, but it looks worth it. Mine’s on its way, and I hope it functions properly on arrival

Finally got the Iron Man helmet earlier today. Impressions:

1) It’s as awesome as it looks. Fantastic red paint and chrome application. The chrome will scratch easily since it is a mirror-like finish.
2) I suspect most would prefer any one of the red/gold armours, but I am glad they went with the Mark V version. There are a ton of motorized red/gold armour helmets out there already. Plus, the way the Mark V mask collapses and moves as it pulls up/down is so satisfying.
3) This helmet is really made for small heads. I haven’t removed the interior padding to see if it would fit better, but it is certainly not built for large heads.
4) Using the voice command, touch features and remote control is a blast. Really novel.
5) I waited 5 months for this thing to arrive. I usually am not patient enough to wait that long for anything. Not sure if the wait time is worth it for this thing, even though it is completely awesome and a ton of fun to play with.
6) I do recommend getting one if you are an IM fan. However, I would recommend finding a store that sells them directly. All of these helmets with the chrome front plate are “Auto King” versions, so there are retailers that are carrying them as well. Not sure the wait time for retailers is.

Anyone know where I can find a similar mask (that's still available) such as the one found in the link below? It'll have to be:
1) Real CF
2) The back of the mask would need to have exposed CF like pictured (the ones on eBay are all covered with foam/padding):

Blockchain digital collectibles. I'm not sure I'd classify it as "cool", but it certainly is interesting. I'm always looking to see what new ideas are gonna revolutionize the world (mostly so I can invest in companies), and digital collectibles is something on many collectors' radar.

The idea of digital collectibles is interesting. The "products" you buy is virtual without a hard copy of it. So instead of a physical hockey/baseball/football/basketball card that you can hold, you'd own it in digital format. You can trade it or play whatever pre-defined games that are developed for it.

As an old school collector that prefers physical products, this doesn't appeal to me too much. That said, it has proven popular so far and does hold potential. The times are certainly changing:

Likewise, I want something tangible, but as I strive to declutter my house, I wonder if things like this will scratch that collecting itch. I do sort of complement my Oakley collecting by grabbing digital catalogs, and of course fleshing out the DB, so who knows.

No! No... don't compare your humanitarian work of art that we all enjoy to this. Where are the timelines, the scans of old print, the spotlights, the PW shots, the display setups? Not even in the same ballpark!

I think I like the idea of it but I also like seeing something "in person" and holding it and especially displaying it. How do you display something that you need to look at on your computer or mobile device?

Francois should look into locking his PW shots to a blockchain so he doesn't end up on another Brazilian hoody.

I gave up on collecting sports cards in the mid ‘90s due to my dwindling interest. I still have no interest in them, but I’m really impressed with what the hobby is putting out. It was only through luck that I saw Panini’s National Treasure, Flawless, Immaculate lines on my IG feed, but I love the idea of them.

You remember how you had to buy thousands of card packs to hopefully get one of the rare “only 20 made” chase cards? Well, what if a whole pack was made up of those super rare chase cards? You would pay $1k+ for a pack/box of 5 or 6 cards, but each card is rare. That’s the whole concept.

Here is a video of a collector who paid $3k for a pack (I don’t remember if that amount was retail price or secondary market):

The case for the Flawless line is cool:

With the staggering amounts Pokémon is pulling in these days, hobby cards is where the action seems to be these days.

I think the wait time is now up to 6 months +. If you see another site/store or on eBay that sells the AutoKing version, it's the same thing.
