Ok so heres whats up. The East Coast Surfing Championship (2nd oldest in the country) is right around the corner. My friend owns Coastal Edge Surf Shop (who now owns the rights to the ECSC) and they are collabing with Oakley to make these Special ECSC CE pairs. They are only getting 50 for the event. The price will be between $130 and $140. I am working to get a pic so I can see the collorway. These will have the logos etched in the Lens, not just words.
Heres the cool part.....I have let him know about our group of friends here and he said that he will order more specifically for us, I just have to let him know how many. So if you want these limited pairs let me know. There will be 50 made plus those who let me know. So it will be a small run. PM me for definate requests and ask questions here in the DB.
I am getting mine, who else is comin with me???

I can see them being White with Ice and blue icons. A sweet custom microbag would be awesome as well, but I doubt it...

It does sound cool. Great to see collaborations and especially as they are made available to O-R. Personally, I just haven't fallen in like with the Fuel Cell yet. The sides are kind of cool, but the orbitals just go 'blah' on me and remind me of the Tens.

I think the notion of cool pairs like this will always get a lot of love from O-R members. Sadly, though, it is really only natural that the crowd starts to thin out when push comes to shove and actually putting down money for orders. There have been so many artist series, limited releases, anniversary re-releases ... an offer like this would almost have to be a zero or the like to really have a resounding (and buying) affect. Take no offense if 50 members don't slap down the cash right away, it's still a great offer to share with the O-R community.

Thanks, and no offense taken. I guess I just have more drive behind it as it is a local thing for me. I definately see your point though...in a way it makes it more valuable as he will only make 50 instead of say 63 because O-R members. Smaller run works for me.

Paul is right on the money there, theres too much cool, limited, exclusives, they seem to pop everyday.

Once a picture is out, people might get more interested.

What size/style is the towel? Is it like a golf towel, or like the older style beach towels? I'd be in for the towel alone if it's a beach size towel!

not sure on the towel....he just said towel.
