And, most importantly, the subject is very easy on the eyes!

Thanks Dann and Oak :)
Yeah, I quite agree that she's easy on the eye, one of the reasons I like to work with her ;-)

Nice model and nice pics :)

On my side, I just received the softbox I ordered a few days ago.
I wanted something not too expensive but still something that would last for a good time.
I went with a Lastolite Ezybox 60x60 softbox
I need to work with that a bit to get used to it, but first results are pretty good.

Nice, those soft boxes and lighting is really a science in itself. Looking at those pics you are clearly going for the title king of contrast :)

Shots a good but be carful of things like cutting hands off.

The first shot i'm very distracted by her hand, my eyes keep going there, not so much in the 2nd but seeing all the hand and fingers would make them better. i also find them a little soft around her face what Aperture did you shot at? and did you focus on the glasses as you main focus point?

Nice photo's Jules, I agree with Mike regarding the hands but apart from that the composition is good. I'm not sure about the softness, perhaps could be sharper but it looks fine to me...keep up the good work.

Thanks guys, I used an aperture of 1.8. Focussing was usually on the glasses and then the point that was closest to the camera.

Been exploring the 645Pro iphone app today a bit. With quite nice results I think to be honest. You can shoot in RAW in that app, which is a big plus, I think it is definitely worth it to get the app if you have an iphone.

This is one of the results:

Nice. One of my best photos a few years back was off a camera phone. You can do a lot with them these days.

Yep, and that's a hard time for point and shoot cameras :-/
But when you see that kind of results, why would you go buy a $200 camera which won't do much better ?

I'll bite. As far as the watermark being comically big in some of them, I had a deadline to meet and ran out of time to figure out why my software would make some watermarks huge and others normal size.

Nice. Fighting the tonal range with snow is a tough challenge. Good action shots.
