The members database which holds the member acounts, collections, gallery, PM's etc is 11Mb. The forum is 78Mb, general catalogue, 7Mb. and the other misc ones for smaller stuff are under 1Mb.

However the image folders are a different story.
Forum - 1Gb (40,000 images)
Gallery - 150Mb (5,000 images)
Users - 60Mb (3,400 images)
Collection - 750Mb (26,000 images)

I tought the forum pics would take more space. Maybe the external image are saving a little bit of space.

Fortunately, there is a resize program for the gallery

All pictures are resized to 640px in either direction, so they end up being smaller. But there are so many. Every time I try to clean up the forum folder, I give up.

Finally made the random pictures at the front of the gallery go to the actual image. The text goes to the family listing, but the thumbnail bothered me since I couldn't always find the image I wanted to see once I followed the link.

i have lots of updates, they will come in the future, but that gallery just makes me jealous of 50% of the people on this forum!

Just think of "jealousy" as "inner motivation" and you'll be fine.

K, views are now implementd for each picture. Views and comments are factored into each picture score so I now have a top 10. I will work on listing more or the top pictures per user in a bit.

And no the views don't increment when you view your own picture and no the score doesn't increase by commenting on your own picture.

What it if is a really really funny comment? Still doesn't count? Bugger.

I've been updating my gallery this past weekend.... and have been looking at heaps of others, as much as the forum latley

Rick is so right this is a feature we gotta use more.

Maybe if there would be a 'my gallery' link in the menu besides 'my collection' people would take more notice of this feature.

Oh I do. There's so much I want to get done here. I kind of lost steam after the v7 implementation.

Ever since the Images on the site were hacked the gallery section has been really slow. if you can find some time get your images back up, your collections, special moments and above all those PW's
It's always fun to have a look through.

No, seriously, thanks for the kick in the ass. You're right, we're damn slackers and it's time we do something about this.
I'm gonna try and spend the majority of Tuesday looking up all the pics we have scattered around our HD and putting them up in the gallery. Hopefully I can start retaking our collection photos, too.
