I apologize if I have offended anyone with my posts. That was never my intention. I am just trying to remain positive about the changes that may or may not occur in the midst of all this. I am, like all of you, passionate about Oakley as a brand as well as a company, despite being done wrong as a rep (it was not Oakley's fault, it was ONE employee). I have had the pleasure of meeting both Colin Baden and JJ in person, and will never forget it. I am also a realist, which explains the nature of some of my posts such as the ones found in this thread and others such as the "is it real, not eyewear either" thread that I started some time back. Again, I apologize to anyone that thought my sarcasm was directed at them.

Also, i've been told from a reliable source that the new cabinets are being dropped due to the cost... something new is being considered.
And to expect more women's frames before the end of the year.
hey Mike, will it b more new lines or more colorways in existing models?
the dart is way ahead of its time. it sells better than behave for me

We've all known the love what Oakley was; a no holds barred, edgy, we don't give a **** about everyone else style and attitude. But it's pretty tough to pull off edgy when you've sold out to a conglomerate.

The big problem I see is this; Oakley was able to do whatever they wanted. They could make whatever they wanted, invent whatever they wanted...you get the point. But now that they are answering to Luxottica, in the end they wont get to sign off on their own decisions. Some group of money grubbing suits will get to nitpick every thing they produce and undoubtedly find ways to cut corners and force out products that will appeal to a certain group. We'll see changes most likely for the worse out of Oakley. Lux wants to make back they the spare change they gave out asap.

Certainly a way to over-come the jet-lag quickly...

I just hope luxottica will give Oakley the freedom to be itself just like how Microsoft is handling Apple as a company....

No, no...
However I think you don't have to worry so much.
Italian people love traditions, then I hope they don't want to change or copy something that is already perfect since years.

Um, you sure that's not a fake? Nothing has really been approved as of yet. Not until years end. And even then it's supposed to take another year for larger changes. I highly doubt those are the changes we'd see take place - Oakley styles with Lux branding.

Those have been around for a while.

Hit up their website and see which other styles seem to suffer from parallel-inspiration.

No, they def have similar styles, but this is for sure a Gascan. (Unless you mean fake GCs with Arnette logos.) I just don't believe it's real. I have an ear to what's happening on Luxs side of things and that's an item I would have known about. The whole deal still needs government approval and won't be 100% for a few months and even then, yes, you may start to see Arnette's billed as the Fox glassesa are featuring O-Mattre frames and XYZ optic lenses, but I would highly doubt they'd use O styles in such a fashion and if they do, then I am 100% out.

Phil is the voice of reason, it will take many many months to see concrete changes on the products like that.

I dont think Oakley would just lend their frame designs to just be rebranded by another name.

That would be a complete and total take over and elimination of Oakley as the competition. But would it mean another group could use those styles as their own then? It's against all Lux had stated in recognizing what Oakley is and what they stand for as a premium brand. Even Versace, Prada and RayBan share similar looks, but Lux doesn't take Versace frames and drop RayBan logos on them and cut the price in half. That's how you have to see this. Versace is Versace, Prada is Prada, Burberry is Burberry, and Lux is the manufacturer. Even that sounds bad (I know), Oakley is Oakley, but Lux is the manufacturer. Oakley is for the most part to remain Oakley, even if some production is moved. Hopefully all design still originate at HQ and so forth. Perhaps some Arnettes start to look more Oakley along the way, and god forbid that some Oakleys start to look like Arnette. Even with Dragon, they have taken advantage of Oakley designers and even Oakley has taken advantage of some little items from Dragon.

Stop collecting maybe, but I don't see the need to sell off the collection. Can't fault the past for the future.
