I was at SGH today and they had a ton of Polished Whtie Hijinx but they threw away the boxes. I wanted to get one but not without the box. Is this normal procedure at SGH?

I don't know about SGH, but I was communicating online with an optical dealer just the other day who was selling some O gear. I asked about the boxes, and he said the same thing. Something along the lines of, "we don't keep any boxes because the take up too much space."

They must stockpile them in the back like a mound of potatoes or something.

well the same happend to my girl when she bought my white hijinx...
they didn't had any boxes.. they went back i start looking, they got a brown tortoise hijinx box... sooo
i think if they don't want to keep them let oakley sent them with out boxes.

It all depends on the SGH. Usually the display pair has no box, but most understock should. Some SGHs, it's just the manager's descretion.

Hmmmm....Maybe I should go around to all the SGH's and other optical stores and see if they have any Oakley boxes they want to let me take off their hands. I know that plenty of us out there would like to get our hands on some boxes to make our collections more complete.

If they don't keep the boxes they are supposed to destroy them, so that they cant be used to make fakes look more ligit.

They showed me the boxes and boy do they destroy them. I don't think they use the flap to open. They were pretty much torn open.

Just picked up 2 sig pairs from my source back in Gainesville. A Chantry and a DC9. The DC9 pair may be one of my all-time favs. The camo frame ("Black Camo" on the box), the vented logo, the splatter-skull etching. If only they went with a mirrored lens (VR28 black would've been cool). And it comes with the brown stripey box.

Brown box? Really, thats lame.

It is a bit lame, but I'd be more concerned about the box if I actually carried it around with me rather than keeping it stored with all the others...

That's interesting your box says Black Camo whereas mine says Shadow Camo. As for lame, I think letting the box factor into one's decision as to wheter or not to buy the DC9 has got to be the lamest thing I've ever heard!
