Sometimes it´s really funny what kind of ideas you develop, when you have too much time...
It was always annoying to me, that there exist only single and double stands for the oakley glasses.

My dad has huge grinding machines in his enterprise, and some days ago, the idea of making my own stands hit me.
I made a construction design of the part on which the glasses normally lay and used the grinding machines:)

So here´s what came out

ATM I have 25 pieces of them, they´re all polished but other colors or rough surfaces etc are easy made.
Now I´ll try some new stand designs :D of course for more than 2 glasses^^

but sadly they´re a little bit expensive :(
The original ones are made by pressure pouring but mine were made out of a massive aluminum block which is 8$/piece, because of the low number I ordered.
But when you have them in your hands, the qualitiy feels a dozen times higher and more nobly than the original ones.

$8 per piece of bar stock (I assume that is what it is) doesn't strike me as that high if you only bought a few short lengths. Or am I ignorant? Plus of course there's not insignificant costs for labour, tooling, time etc. Very cool project.

If we got enough people who are interested, I could make another load of them.
Oh yes, an internal thread is possible too, if you want to screw them somewhere ;)

VERY nice work there. This would be an awesome alternative for those of us who need more display space savers. We'll be watching here with deep interest. =)

dude, i'd be real careful copying the display stuff, they hate it getting into public hands as it is, if these got into the wrong hands, you'd have oakley and their display builders after you regarding copyright etc....

nice idea though, my brother in law has a company that cnc stuff etc, i've often thought about having one off custom stuff made, in the same vein as oakley but not identical for the aforementioned reason...

Well the 5 one is about 48cm tall.

If you want to have some of these "blocks" just pm me, and we can work something out. If you have an idea for your own custom stand feel free to pm me and send a drawing of it.

Man Sweet! I honestly wouldn't paint it at all. The raw metal looks badass!!!

but I want to paint some party in metal silver.

If you want it without paint, no problem, just order one xD

the number of "holders" is variabel, you can put around 5 Xmetals on it but with Gascans up to 9 is possible.
