Interesting. Wish there was a little more info to go on. Suppose for the same price as The Flask, this gets you some usable features.

Had to brighten it a bit, but there's the dual lenses.

Jim adds more info:

Why did some Redusers blindly order HYDROGEN today without even reading the release? This seems incredible to those unfamiliar with the RED program. Over the past 10 years RED has gone from scam (announcing the impossible) to delivering the impossible… over and over. Our core customers have seen and participated in this process and have stories to tell. Apparently we have earned their “blind trust” because we have not let them down. We understand that those unfamiliar with our history will certainly not get this.

This is very forward-looking, cool stuff. Looking forward to seeing it in action.

I also hope the phone is really successful and they expand the line. A tablet is the natural next step, and that's something I can really get into.

Most of the people who ordered one, don't know either.

Glad the dual camera is there. The rumors were circulating that it didn't support it.

Comments on YouTube are horrendous

The internet wouldn't be as fun without negative comments. On the flipside, 98% gave the video (and the phone by extension) a thumbs up.

The last prototype of the camera lens module looks great.

USB 3 Type C would indicate that it will be storing/passing through large data. Good indicator of it's image power.

I stopped for some lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find someone filming with a Red camera (no idea what model). It's rare I see Red around these parts (though it's not like I look for it):

Most are boxy bricks until you add the peripherals, so it's hard to tell most of them apart. Probably something in the scarlet territory if they're using it for commercials since it's in the $10-15K investment area.

Summer then. Ah well, hopefully the extra time allows it to mature more.

Word is the extra time is for carrier testing. That means it should be a little easier for some of us to get one as you should be able to pay it out like you would an iPhone or Samsung through say AT&T instead of having to fork out $1.2k in cash or onna credit card.

I’m very excited to see it in action. With all new-ish tech, I’m always looking for two questions to be answered: 1) Can I actually put it to good use for an extended period of time? 2) Is there enough initial content and future content development to keep me interested? Crossing my fingers for a “yes” to both questions.

Still sort of wondering what the recording capabilities are out of the box. Jim states that it does do 3D, but then later says it can't. But maybe that's just R3D which is the raw format. If I'm to sink a grand or two into equipment, I'll be going after Canon lenses which I will get more out of.
