they were going for around 250 bucks and as tick said there was like 1 a week a while ago.(all supliers getting rid of their stock) but now there all dried up so expect them to hit big big prices when one comes along.

i think they were only sold in UK stores, so i doubt they will turn up in USA vaults. they retailed for £250 here which is 435 bucks!

thankfully mine cost me alot less than that.

The Ruby Clear Why 3s are awesome. They're the unknown X-metal. I don't know how rare they are, but I haven't seen one with a serial of over 100. Of course, not many serials have been reported anyhow.

They're "cheap" right now about $150-200 BNIB. Compared to last spring when they were pulling in $250-300, that's a steal. Prices should be picking up now that there's talk about it on the OR. LOL. Pick one up if you can. You won't regret it.

Just want to reiterated how great the Ruby Clear Why 3s are. After wearing them for two days in a row at a minimum of 12 hours each, I can safely say that they are one of if not Oakley's best "dress" sunglasses.

Oak is on crack, they strain the eyes and will give you headaches, because they are iridium coatings on both side.

It might not do the same thing to everyone, but its to be avoided for people with sensitive eyes I think.

If you dont like them, you can always resell them at least.

Edit: only speaking about the ruby clear in the why 3 here, I love the lens in other sunglasses models.

Ruby Clear is definately a "Show only" lens. They look pretty but are pretty much useless. A must have for the collection though.

If u wear them for a long time, u'll tend to forget and ignore the reflective effect and might as well feel like u're wearing normal glasses..

EDIT: The reflective effect that i mentioned refers to the inside coating that makes u uncomfortable wearing them..

The inside iridium coating is there to remind you of how cool you look to everyone else. That's all.

I had a pair and I didn't like them that much.
They hurt my eyes and they didn't look all that great to me.
I am not sorry that I sold them.
They looked more blue than ruby.

We have two pairs of Ruby Clear Unknowns and could not love them anymore than we do. I think, like some have said, that it truly varies from person to person. We don't have any problems wearing the Ruby Clear lenses.

Were yours hard to find, Fred? I know mine weren't.

But then again...we know Santa!

And Tick, I've asked Santa about doing you a favor, but he's afraid to fly...
