My wife is Chinese and the few Oakleys I have don't fit her face. The Juliets, Half Jackets, and Square Wire 2.0s I have aren't wide enough and don't sit on her nose very well. Does anyone have a recommendation? I figure if I can get her a pair of Oakleys, she might start to love the brand too...and let me buy more :)

Your best bet would be to bring her to a store so she could try all the models, and since they just released 3 new womens specific models, it would be a great time.

I dont know if the O-stores carry them but if they do, you can go and have her try on the Asian/Alternative Fit frames.

I'm pretty sure that you can buy any pair of Half Jackets and then buy a Frame Accessory Kit in "alternative fit"/ asian fit from Oakley which converts your half jackets into asian fit half jackets with bigger nosebombs.

Or are you saying that even the asian fit half jackets don't fit.

i'm Asian and i have a wide head... i've tried the "Alternative Fit" (can't call it Asian Fit anymore... so PC) Half Jackets before then they were not nearly wide enough. the larger nosebombs did help though.

i find Square Wire 2.0 as well fit me quite nice if stretched out/adjusted a bit. Big Square Wires are a good fit too... or maybe she might want to try on a pair of Wiretap, they're more than adequate for wide heads. thank goodness for Wires with adjustable nosepads.

I'm an Asian. Here is my findings about Asian fits on Oakley.

Good: Monster dog, Twenty(XX), Unknown(Asian fit:jet black/ruby clear), Big square wire, Straight Jacket(It's good for a wide head), Minute, Dartboard, Half Jacket(International fit works for me), (Pro) M-frame, Racing Jacket, Crosshair, Warden, and Juliet

Bad: Gascan, Riddle(I tried international fit on and this model has an Asian fit which is hard to find.) Mars, Penny, Teaspoon(Don't even think about it.), Most Wires

I recommend you and your wife to go to a nearby O store and try every pair there. That is the best way to find a perfect pair.

Yeah i agree, the best way would be to go down to a Local Oakley store to try out the fit of the different designs. It would be pretty difficult to recommend any designs / frames off hand as the curvature (wrap-around) of the frames are different and would therefore sit differently on the faces and nose depending on the individual.

I used to think that Oakleys were not meant for asian faces till i found the Dartboard and MD which thank god i am able to wear and pull it off. And the story contiunes with me 'Discovering' more and more styles with more trips down to my local Oakley dealer for tries on the different frames.

Personally for my GF who is an Asian as well, she has no problems with the following Riddle (International Fit), Crosshair, Juliets (yes Juliets), Dartboard, Thump 1, MD.

Wires are the most forgiving for Asian faces, because of the adjustable nose pieces. I've had the Square Wire 2.0 and E Wire 2.0, and currently wear the Crosshair. They'll feel funny Out-Of-The-Box, but after some fiddling they fit great.

I've also had a Plate, and currently have four X Metals. Hopeless. =(

I've tried the Asian Fit Unknown, and it hugged my face nicely (though I am definitely not used to glasses weighing nothing on my face!)

This was the most suited thread that I could find to post my findings on this evenings Oakley outing. I tried on almost every single pair of the recent Asian Fit releases: Gascan, Riddle, Grapevine, Fives 3.0, the Script was in the back and I didn't want our OPD to have to go digging.

I've put my reviews up, since I know there were quite a few of you that were curious about these pairs. And for those of you that don't know, I'm 100% Japanese so you can trust that these Asian reviews came from a true Asian. And all the pairs listed above are in fact Asian approve...at least by this Asian. =)
