VR28 Black is a great lens if we can get it. VR28 Gold is even nicer. I can see VR28 Black with a Copper Tribal or Chrome or White. The gold with White or the copper fingerprint.

I do agree though, as much as I like black and brown frames, there are a lot going for the MD. I would still like the splatter too and that could lighten a black frame.

As of right now we have 66 votes at the poll with the Monster Dog having a commanding lead. I still encourage everyone to vote, otherwise this may show how many are really interested in this happening. Now I say we finalize our color combo. We've been batting around ideas and we've been listing colorways. Now list your final, one custom colors and one stock colors.

Right. So the stock choice means the lens colour not only has to be available, but available in that particular frame.

Thus, for a stock suggestion,
MD Polished Black - Ti OKAY
MD Crystal Black - Emerald - NOT OKAY
for example.

Correct?

I'm totally in for Orange camo & it's exciting that this color keeps being brought up. Pencil me in for 2 pairs for sure if it ends up being Orange Camo because I'd have to wear that regularily

well i would love to see a VR28 variation lens, or a titanium lens,

something that can be worn in a variety of light conditions is something i think should be taken into consideration.

as far as the frame goes, a splatter would be aweful sweet... or the fingrprint, or a cao to a degree. i just hope i is something that is really different but at the same time wearable....

G30, anyone?

but a black camo combo wouldn't be so fine, it looks like a dirty smoke m-frame.

I agree with Evan; a spattered would be awesome. VR28 (Blue Iridium Polarized) would be my choice for lenses.

How'bout a white Monsterdog, spattered, with those lenses?

VR28 blue polarized is very heavy in price, there was a discussion, some sites earlier.
But G30 won't this be a alternative?

Personally I'm not realy fond of G30. The basecollor is rather uncomfortable to me.

For as much as I love VR28 as a base and with Black or Gold Ir, I've always hated the Blue. Sorry. I just don't see it as an attractive looking lens.

but can we choose a pair of lenses, where it is the most times impossible to see your eyes?
Don't know, but VR28Black has only a few iridium coating.
the new blue iridium shall be a persimmon with many more coatings, has anybody heard of it?

My non-stock idea: I'm still a fan of the carbon fiber frame idea. So I'd go Carbon Fiber / 24k Iridium.

But I love the fingerprint and camo colors beign thrown out.

Stock idea: Cinder Red / Ti Iridium / Red Icons

But, like many of us, I will be completely thrilled with just about anything Oakley would agree to make for us.

Hopefully over the weekend we can start to hear everyones stock and non stock colorway ideas then we can get the poll running. Assuming all those who are interested in voting on the Frame have voted.

Polished Black/Ti/Silver Icon

Bronze Fingerprint or Bronze Carbon Fiber/Ti/Gold Icon

Orange Camo/VR28 Black/Gunmetal Icon

Assuming you all decide on something that can actually be seen and used in public, at what point is this going to be taken to Oakley, and at what point are we going to know how long it will take? Weeks, months, years? Is it just a Vaporware idea? Where do we all stand really?

I'm with you ther Kim...
Plus we can always dream of some custom combination that we have always wanted....but that really ain't gonna happen.

Lets be realistic. Decided on a real world combination IE: a Current frame color + a Current lens tint (not what you want but what Okaley makes) but the 2 together, ask for the lens to be etched/engraved with o-review and were done.
If we ask for something non-standard it won't happen. They have bigger things to deal with than a small number of fans.
Lets just be real about what we want, and we should have a much better chance of having it done.

There's only a few of us that have been beating that drum... but it's so true. They aren't going to make pink and orange swirly frames with lime green iridium for 10's or even 100's of people. ;)

(There's someone now doing a Homer Simpson over that suggestion.. stop it!) :p

I say we go for the official lense color of O-review: ruby.

As its been said before, since we will be giving 3 choices to be possibly made, lets put a new combo, one from parts and one other.

Like LEX said and others, lets aim for what we really want first instead of going the stock way. The worst they can say is no to a design.

I believe FP would not have offered to bring our designs to the powers that decide if he did not believe there was at least a chance of that being made.

As for why would Oakley do a limited combo like that ?

They do it from times to times like the ruby clear MDs that were for a couple of riders and the glossy gray/Ti they did at a VIP party.

Lets be optimistic here ! :)

Stock Matte Black/ Violet Iridium (If they made some for FP they can make some for us)

I still agree that with FP's request of 3 options to take back to the powers that be, we should include:

One existing MD colorway combination
One existing colorway combination of any other O eyewear
One unique colorway

That we we are really covering all our bases. Besides, I also just found out that basically every time store managers go back to HQ, they are presented with custom eyewear. So Oakley is doing custom batches of about 60 or so ... all the time.

I think we've seen a slowdown on colorway suggestions, and we have 70+ votes on the current frame option poll ... maybe now is a fair time to allow Dann and his crew time to throw together the next polls to decide on final colorways to suggest for FP's supa' offer???
