HAHA, the SAI can be a pain. I have it removed on both my VR's. The GTI(OBD2) has a chip that deletes the functionality, and in my Jetta(OBDI) I pulled a pin on my ECU and disabled the whole system. Believe it or not, my Jetta, which has way less done to it, has gotten me in more trouble than my GTI. I just got a complaint ticket from a statie that didn't like my exhaust or my front plate. $318. That's a new pair of Juliets! And who doesn't like the tone of a straight pipe VR? :)
I've been on vortex for a looooong time, but only go on now for the classifieds or to visit my local forum. It's become a huge cluster in the last 3-4 years, especially the Mk3 forum.

Very true. I was on years ago when I had my MKIV and people were douches then. I am about the same now, classifieds and tech articles. That's about it. I had mine listed in the classifieds real cheap for members and still found them making d!ck offers and stooooooopid crap like that. Most didn't like my sarcastic responses when I replied to the lame offers. Pretty funny really. Some good people on there though, just hard to weed through them all.

I didn't know you all were on the Vortex? I've been on there since before it was that huge. I just hang around the classifieds areas now. MkIV forums are a little odd sometimes.

My money sucking German luxury tank, Pre-Master's Degree:

1986 Mercedes Benz 420SEL. It was uber-classy but damn was it high maintenance. Sold it two years ago to go to grad school.

My new (to me) rugged four-wheeled puppy, Post-Master's Degree:

2003 Nissan Xterra XE 4X4. Bought it just about a month ago, a present for myself for finishing grad school... that and I need a car for where I currently live. I gotta go to an O-Store soon and get some stickers to put on it.

Ah yes, the formidable taxi of the world. Congrats on your masters bro, that is a major accomplishment in any world.

As for Vortex, yeah, been there a long time, but under a new and more noticeable name since I couldn't remember my old stuff and the email was closed...

Being a VW fan, I appreciate when they influence one of their luxury brands to blow the minds of the world, but that car is ugly as hell! It looks like a Bentley gone way wrong. Just don't care for it. Now if they ever put the GTI 650 into production, oh man...That car is one hell of a monster in a very small package. I prefer the Reventon way more and it would leave enough change to buy a nice house somewhere to house the car.
