reading all these stories just solidifies the fact that i made the right decision not ot start a conversation with people who wear Oakleys in public. i don't want to feel the need to put them in their place with my Oakley knowledge... and besides, if they act like "Oakley Superiority" (i'm glad i coined that phrase! it works so well) tw*ts they're not worth my time.

EDIT: oh, i should add that i never feel "superior" to anybody else because of a particular model of Oakleys i'm wearing. i'm happy that other people enjoy their Oakleys, but i'd rather have them start a conversation before i do.

only once did i conversate with a stranger because we were trying the same pair of shoes (not Oakleys) in a store. he started the conversation, and i commented on his Chop Top 6.0 RX glasses. he obviously was not knowledgeable on Oakleys but he "loves his Oakley glasse" and appreciated the comment all the same, which was cool.

as for incidents with sales reps, generally the ones i meet are humble enough that they realize i know more than them... i rarely get attitudes when i shop for Oakleys.

well that depends on the model in which the other is wearing. see i wear the pennys and the only other oakleys i see around here are all o matter. makes me feel special i guess. i do see other o-people with their oaks on and think about the many people like myself. really cool.

If we all meet, we should don our Medusas (Medusii?) and head into town. That would be a sight....

What is almost as bad as “Oakley superiority” is in sports the guys that have something different to be different and claim they have something better (the names don’t matter cause all others suck just look at the private pilot).

These guys are the same “jag offs” in high school that wore their pants backwards or shirts inside out.

Actually, I don't think its just the 24ks... I mean it works the best, but I believe that the size of my penis is directly proportional to the premiumness of the oaks I'm wearing.

i.e. EJ 3.0 |--| that big

Here's my story bout an OPD.
I always go to this OPD. The sales guy is an @$$. He has this arrogant thing goin on when i ask him bout his latest wares. So i never buy from them.

There was once my cousin wanted to buy a new RX frame. So i brought him there cuz they have the best price and collection. My cousin was asking bout the warranty for his old A-Wire which he doesnt have the warranty card cuz it's a gift by his (silly) friend.
So this sales dude was saying that if my cousin brings that A-Wire, he has the right to break it in front of us cuz it doesnt have a warranty card. WTF!

My cousin ended up buying a CoSine from him. He (my cousin) is an @$$ too. Guess he likes to be treated like dirt. Hahaha.

Sorry if this one is off topic.

i cannot believe what i am reading , you should really kick their behind ( both youre cousin , and the sales-guy ) for;
1 - being rude
2- being ignorant
3 - trying to trash a perfectly good oakley
4- being your cousin
5 - let the sales-guy actually do a sale

write a letter to the store-owner about this, i'm curious about his reaction

Warrenty card??? You know one of the best reasons for owning Oakleys is the warrenty. I have never filled out or sent in a card and the people who answer the phone for Oakley when you call for warrenty are all cool about it. Pay a lil $20 fee and it's all good. As for sales reps around here most of them don't know the difference between one pair of Oakleys and another. If I mentioned O-matter Oakleys they would be like well "o-matter of fact we do carry Oakleys which one's would you like to see?" I find it quite humerous.

Even when you do fill out the warranty card ... I think it just goes out into the great abyss. As I've called Oakley on items that I know I filled the card out, it never matters. It doesn't seem like they can look you up by it at all.
But I will say, I've always been mighty impressed with the warranty service!! My only negative experiences have been losing my time bomb as it was sent in for warranty service and the piddly offer of $40 for my broken straight jacket (old).

Yeah, you don't need the card, just your receipt. Even now, I think they're only used for mailing lists, which we all know half of us end up getting nothing. But once something has been sent back, then they have your history on file, along with purchase history if you buy anything direct.

Did you mention that, legally, you could break his face right in front of him because he wasn't carrying his a$$hole card!

I've never even worried about sending in a recipt. I don't keep up with things like that very well. But again each time I call they are great. I do agree with Tick if someone tried to break my Oakleys I'd have to resort to kickin his arse.

If he break my oaks I'll break his friggin balls. No one should be allowed to break something with the O (altough I tried running over a Juliet with my car =D)

As for warranty, I agree with everyone that Oakley is the best. My Juliets get loose at the rivets pretty ofeten, and everytime I sen dthem in for tightening its free. They even ship it back to me at no charge. Hail Oakley Australia!

OMG someone from oakley should read this and do something. compared to you guys in singapore, australia, US, or anywhere else. here in indonesia oakley can't do anything about loosened juliet rivets. even if i wanna pay for it. they just say: we don't have the tools. unbelievable.

and as for the warranty services? the card and the receipt is mandatory here, as they will check for the stamp of the distributor company on the card, if it isn't there? you're on your own(even if you wanna pay for it), then, after a year period of the warranty? you're on your own again. T_T

luckily juliets are so sturdy and don't break so easily.

they do offer 30% off retail for trade-in exchange for any oakley sunglasses, but you only get to trade for the exact same kind of glasses that is.

strangest thing is, the CS told me before that i can buy juliet blank frame for 1.6 million(around 160 USD)..

Whoa...non-existant customer support!

Oakley Malaysia has pretty barebone support - ie warranty claims only. If you want to change the lenses just because you feel like it and willing to pay, they wouldn't do it...ish

And forget about any service without both the warranty card and receipt. After one year? well, I don't know...

Oakley Singapore offers trade in as well....the last I heard its 50%. Not sure about same models though. The last time I was there they offered me a 50% discount for a new Square Wire if I tradeed in my discontinued T-Wire.

Oakley Thailand? The last I heard street peddlers don't offer warranty =D

Blank frames are pretty cool, considering that I like to custom my Juliets

LOL! I love the feedbacks that u guys gave.
I think i shall try to call the OPD now and make an appointment.... to kick that guy's arrogant nuts.
As for my cousin... probably i'll just kick 1 nut since i'm related to him.

I think O-service in Asia sucks. Typical Asian way of biz...

Ian? You from Asia too?
