I was wondering how rare is the Radar Red Metallic/Positive Red Iridium glasses?

maybe we should just start a thread for all radar +red owners to report so we can count the numbers of radar +red owned? I believe there are very few since Oakley stopped production only 1 week after releasing it?

You could, but something tells me a new batch of +Red lenses are being produced that have the coating. So in the near future they probably won't be so rare ya know.

Nothing is really that rare anymore-with the dawn of customization, almost anything can be combined.
As for displays, ebay is increasingly more lenient regarding the amount of large cases allowed to run their respective auctions in their entirety.

More and more I see collectors parting with significant pieces...more so out of maturation. I think the desire fades at some point, and the need for elusive pieces becomes less pressing.

On top of it all, when was the last time you could turn a piece around and make a profit anywhere near what you originally paid for it? Everyone wants the rare stuff, but they want the Walmart discount as well.

Just a personal rant, I don't mean any discomfort to collectors past, present and future, as I was one of em'-its just my observations..

My definition of rare is my Black Chrome Juliet frame. I don't know of any other ones, Total-O had 2 of them and I bought one
and Rick bought he other nut he returned his because they looked like plain ole polished. Mine however look awesome.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I think that a lot of collectors eventually move from buying everything that's rare to buying things that are just plain cool and that they can appreciate.

I agree.

The last big, rare, hyped thing I bought was the Ruby Fives and I don't even like ruby, pol. black or have a relation to this sport.

I still collect rare stuff, but mostly rare stuff that's not that looked at by the masses - it has to fit in my collection and I have to like it...again - my emerald, crosshair and Stretch stuff *lol - repeating that again and again is getting annoying, correct ;) ? Sorry!

Rare to me is the ones u had as a kid or wanted but could never afford and every time u saw someone wearing them u just wanted to take them rare to me is like a o rainbow fade or a rep item i don't really care for one offs i like having 3-4 of something or within extra parts because I'm hard on stuff like really hard but the more indestructible something is is the more I like it

When you say indestructible, first thing Oakley that popped in my mind was the Pit Boss. If you can find a used pair in good condition (so cheaper), I think you'll appreciate it as a materials fabrication guy.
