I think I like the metal stems better on the BXTR. Reminds me of something you may have seen Jim pulling out of the trunk of his car back in the day. A "work in progress."

The one with the metal arms is called....BXTR Metal. Same as the HSTN.

Yes, the hanger Eyeshade is indeed the inspiration according to Will Conk.

The Custom Program should have straight stems available in addition to the triggers (non-metal versions).

They needed to at least use the factory pilot text on the arms & either the same for the lens or the classic stretch text. Or drop the price to reflect the drug store location that they’ll be sold at.

Looks like they’re called HSTN C5 and the BXTR will be called the same now!

I just can’t get on board with these:/ Looks like a hack job with a paperclip for some reason. Oh well, if you dig em, all the more power to ya!!!

Meh, BXTR Metal sounds better than BXTR C5, but neither are all that creative in the first place. I assume they’ll be listed with the SKU number but who knows what Oakley will do:

I don't mind them but I'm surprised that the HSTN was popular enough to already have a second generation. I thought for sure that this model was going to be on the chopping block soon to be replaced by another underwhelming model.

according to my local o store manager all but two skus he has of the HSTN will be going on clearance later this month. They probably already had these in the works before they realized they weren't going to sell well.

Those ear-stems are definitely better on BXTR than HSTN. Not that these are on the top of my list - but, again, I like that BXTR Metal/C5 reminds me of the coat hanger Eyeshade.

I have no idea if Oakley will ultimately be naming them as BXTR Metal or BXTR C5, but the one I was given recently says “BXTR Metal”:
