These are always good. I wasn't aware that at one time there were official grades of Unobtainium.

Lee had found those and included them in his writeup on the subject years ago. I also found more support on some of the ads:

I loved this. So glad I got one of every type years ago. A little hard to track down now.

Nice. I think we were on the hunt around the same time. One of the few times I called a future collectible and got in before the rush.

I was a little behind you. I think you had them all before I started. You did inspire me though because I wanted to encompass the history of Oakley in my collection and was after all of the iconic pieces. I realized I didn't even have any grips and at the time you were the only person I saw that had them and were quite proud of them. I wouldn't say that I paid up for them which I am happy about because most things I have I definitely paid up for but the grips were a fun search to get at least one of every model. During the hunt I found that I was pretty much competing with the BMXers and the cost would greatly vary. I found some for 15 and would see the same pair for 90, then again for 30. The fluxuation was interesting to see. After the 2010 retro it pretty much changed into the scalper market on grips.

Yeah even a year or two or five after me, it was still a better landscape than now.

Also reverse what I say in the video about the consistency of the F1 grip. Harder inside, softer sleeve. No way I can get all the details right with so much to talk about.

Out of every category of item I have collected, displays, glasses, the grips were the most fun to track down. That feeling of "complete" was great. I never had the same love for any particular model of glasses to want to go out and get one of each.
