I did hear 150, but not all will hit stores (some are held back or distributed internally). Metal case based on the M84 Stun Grenade

No word on a booklet, but one would hope there's something other than the case and a colorway that isn't available otherwise. The system price is $1000, but there are rumors that it might be less.

Is it going to be available near the release date or is this a ways off?

It will be available on the 15th, but only in two select stores. If those don't sell out, it may be distributed to key accounts.

Just two select stores? How did I miss that? That kinda stinks.

It's still in the system for $1,000 USD/$1,200 CDN. I so hope the retail price goes down. I also hope it comes with a lot more than just an serial number and a metal case if the price stays where it is.

That case is badass but I'm having a hard time justifying $1000 for one...

I was just at my vault store Looking at the catalog. Is this going to be the one in the book called madman exclusive with serialized number and case? It shows a raw with fire and a reg case like we have seen already (not the grenade).
It looks just like the standard model except the standard has clear pieces on the arms.

Has anyone seen the actual colorway? I just can't beleive it's a thousand for a raw OLUMIMUM with fire and a cool case.

Yeah, that should be the same page out of the catalog that we've seen, but it shows the metal case rather than the regular black plastic case.

I was told by two different Oakley employees that the Raw would be available at the top 25 stores in the country. I am not sure what those stores are - I know none of them are around me. I am thinking most of them will be in CA or Vegas, maybe a couple in NY or FL, perhaps.

If what I heard is not correct and these will only be available in TWO stores that is just crazy.

I also heard that there were going to be a few of these reserved, like 32 or so, leaving only 128 actually available for sale.

I guess we'll find out soon =]

Inventory check this morning had qty 10 of the Raw at one location - South Beach or SoHo, and 15 at the other... not sure what stores the other 100 are going to?

I also scored my Madman today... first impressions...
Madman: :(
Grade: C-
Overall: Disappointed
- The inferior design of the two (compared to Badman)
- They feel weaker than the Badman, too frail on the hinges and nose
- Not as similar to the Mars fit as they look - they feel way different - I prefer the Mars by a mile!
- Practical use is limited due to poor eye coverage - they let light in from the inside and out - more useful as costume jewelry
- The only colorway I even remotely liked was the Pewter/BIP - It had a bit of style and just enough color with a hint of 'steampunk' (so I bought that one)

Have you worn these out much? I thought the benefit of the Prizm lenses was negated by the excessive amount of light these let in. I opted for the Prizm in the Badman instead and my eyes are really appreciating them!

Not the exact same but essentially you could make one by taking the Plasma/Tungsten pair and swapping the lenses with a pair of Fire Iridium ones.

I just got them last night. It was about 8:45 pm when I got them so no, haven't got to really try them out yet. I did briefly put them on today in the day time, and I can certainly see your point on letting too much light in from all sides.

Practical, not really. Shock factor is really where these excel. I think I should have gotten the daily Prizm in the badman, but I opted for the new sapphire iridium. I'm thinking these Madman will really just be more for my collection of X-Metals.

I honestly think this was targeted for the collectors and the people that want attention. On those points I think it's a slam dunk! More of an aesthetic piece than a practical one. I don't think anyone can take away the shear cool factor of these. Plain and simple they're cool!

Agreed. It's not the best designed piece Oakley has put out and it's supremely overpriced, but it's so fun to wear and outrageous that I forget all that. One of my favourites.

Nor was the OTT or Medusa, but they did it because they could. I enjoy when they throw caution to the wind and just roll with something.

The more the general public hate it, the more I like it.

The only real bad thing for me is the choice of clear or clear-like O Matter for the bridge. Not sure why they chose that for most of the colourways, but it seems to exacerbate the light bleeding issue.

I have just learnt that MadMan will not be available for sale in Australia period.

Apparently it does not meet Australian standards ( The lens size ) and is not allowed to be sold by any stores
This was the same issue that was present when the Penny was released and why it was never sold in Australia.

It can be sold in New Zealand though.
